I'll share a pretty cool story I never told anyone: My 1st car was a 1991 LX 2.3 that my parents surprised me with at Ellington AFB when I was doing my CAP training. They didn't want a 16 year old to have a V8, and they knew I loved Mustangs since a child. Not many Fox Bodies (FB) at my school, so I learned to get the most power I could out of the engine by carefully watching the RPM and timing my shifts. My mom put the title in my name, so in 1993 I swapped it for a 1987 GT 5.0 that wasn't in the best condition. It cost me around $4K in parts/repairs. I had worked hard since I was 12 mowing yards and later working in a grocery store but I learned a valuable lesson. Don't break your parent's trust by swapping the car they bought you without permission. It might not have the engine you want, but you were given something special. Even though the GT required a lot of work to get the problems sorted out, I did a lot of drag racing in Deer Park and down near the San Jacinto Monument late at night. Not to mention cruising up and down main street with your GF at your side. Good times! 😁
Just got my little brother a 93 lx convertible 4 cylinder as his 1st car at 15. We’re going to get it road worthy and get it looking pretty then consider either the classic 5.0 swap or a coyote swap maybe next year or the year after
Yeh man, I spent a whole weekend when I was 20 years old. Kenne Brown suspension upgrade. Bushings, shocks/struts pan-hard bar, springs , shock tower brace, sub frame connectors. All before work in monday!
Great detailed video 👍. So glad you are touching up the engine bay. It bugs me when people go through all this work and don’t touch up the bay . You definitely do a swap correctly 👍
Great content as always!!! Getting me motivated to start on my 89 notch coupe roller. It’s been sitting as I finish up 92 Gt that is fresh from paint. Appreciate all the great videos
Around min 17… removing brake cable clips. A closed end wrench works fine. I forget what size because it’s been 15 years since I messed with them but believe it was a 12 pt 12 or 13mm. Just a tip for folks. Little faster than the hose clamp method (which is still a good idea too).
Im going to swap a 5.0 and make a Saleen from my LX. This is a amazing video..thanks for this. I imagine it wont take long as I do it stage by stage. Definitely gonna rubberize the underneath and do some patchwork.
I bought a 93’ lx hatch with the 2.3l automatic vibrant white on royal blue interior in arizona back in may identical to this car but I have the 10 spoke phone dials. Looking forward to doing a 302/t5 swap soon. maybe one day I can do a full resto and put a coyote with a 6 speed in. Anyways great videos and thanks for all the helpful information.
I realize this is an older video, but what did you do to match the rear brake lines up? Is there a trick to it. I have a 4cyl that I’m swapping a complete sn95 rear end
I have a 1984 Mercury Capri charcoal edition T top bubble back RS turbo 5 speed manual that I would love to 5.0 swap . Is this the same process. Or should I leave it original?
Hey solid 15:55 it’s back home since ever since what we says also “pumpkin” back yard mechanic...me learn from Uncles/moms bro’s ASE Certified “Ask Someone Else”😅...Good vibes🤙🏽!!...years now I have a health problem called “young no mor” 🤣😂!! Solid vid bro thanks for sharing 💯🤙🏽
@@stevenpurdy2337 not really... I used a section of the factory line that came off the v8 rear distribution block and coupled it into the factory 4 cylinder line near the passenger torque box. Other than the coupler it is all to v8 specification. The distribution block on a cylinder diff is completely different

Thanks for keeping us updated. Liking this content!
Cold one well deserved
Thank you for showing the difference in sound when you were knocking on the body
Really cool & detailed video, on how to correctly do a 4 to 8 swap the right way.

Me and a few buddies did the same thing years ago in 2 days lol. Parked them side by side and thrashed
Man I love these videos I wish you would post the other videos right now
Tomorrow will be another lol

Instead of using a hose clamp for the emergency brake cable teeth you can use the boxed end of a wrench (I forget the size) and a small hammer.
The best are the hose pliers that are round on the end

I’ve got a factory v8 car AOD, I’m putting a straight drive in, can I use the AOD computer
Still have harness and pcm?
What was wrong with the black gt?
is the motor mounts just a simple swap change v8 mounts?
Yessir it is
I’ll take the harness.
Email me via my website
The Darn front spindles are different between 4 cyl and V8 cars so V8 struts wont fit on 4 cyl cars
428 nice. My 89 brake booster is rusted too? What can be done about that? And why does it happen because the rest of the car isn't rusty?
If it's on the underside it's usually from a leaky master. If it's the whole unit, just bad paint
@@TheInfamousProject yeah it’s the hole booster. Can it be re painted? Or does it have to be replaced? Thanks
@@lr7993 ya you can clean it up and paint it! But for the cost of a new one the time and paint might not be worth it
@@TheInfamousProject Coo thank for the info
Is you in georgia?
👍🏻
What did you end up doing on the rear brake line swap
Coupler near the passenger side rear torque box
Sorry to keep bugging but you used the factory 4cyl line and ran one from that to rear end

I. Love turbines. Makers make some 17’s
how much for roller
What roller? The donor car? It's not a roller now, it's sitting on blocks
4 banger?
Is this car for sale????
It’s someone else’s car that he’s building.
