Julia Gillard was such a cool PM that she still found time to host a panel show and be actually funny.

I love that I live in a country where we can pull the piss out of the government in front of the Prime Minister.

Ah the good old days where we now realise our Prime Minister of the time was actually a decent human being. :/

I always knew she was decent, for some reason most Australian's just wanted to believe otherwise...The sad part was the Kevin 07 was the bitch ,( including the media )and really had no regard for his party or his voters for that matter

I bet most people still do not know Australia is a democracy, 10 years later.

Ironically, at the time this was filmed Australia had recently ceased to be a democracy, as Julia was raised to power in a coup after predecessor Kevin Rudd dared to start talking about actually taxing the mining companies.

Exactly! The democratically elected leader was taken out by Oligarchs for daring to touch their control over Australian resources. That's who Gillard represents. Also, she was the beginning of Julian Assange's journey to Belmarsh prison.

@random5071 My council went and mowed my vacant block and charged close to $400 dollars. No further comment needed. I stopped paying the rates...They got the message.

Hate to break it to you, but you didn't vote for Kevin Rudd, you voted for the Labor Party, and when they decided Kevin Rudd wasn't working the party YOU voted for to represent you decided that they wanted Julia Gillard as Prime Minister. We don't vote for a Prime Minister, we vote for a party to form government. If you don't like the leader of that party, tough. That's the system we have so get used to it, it's not about to change.

So we don't have a democracy. That's the point of the comments. The reason elites love "democracy" so much is that its a system that can be manipulated so easily.

If only the Education system would teach AU children about their Constitution first then they might be more aware of the BS being served to them as "democratic govt" these days.
But why would UNHCR (who outline what AUstralian students should learn) want small children to learn to think for themselves?

If you don't like out system of voting feel free to ship off to another country. Abbott didn't get more votes, mainly because the only people that voted for Abbott are those that live in his electorate. The rest of us voted for the people that represent our electorate. The party that won the most seats in Parliament formed Government. Liberal and Labor both won the same amount of seats, but it was Gillard who managed to form a coalition and in doing so formed Government. So suck it up.
