I remember seeing this live on TV and I didn't even know that this was a South Park skit! So I was blindsided by this. I was on the floor laughing me head off! It was one of the funniest bits that had ever seen Robin to and has done, oh so many great ones! Robin is the greatest comedian of all time!

I was only there for 90 minutes, but it seemed so quiet, and people were just kind of gathered around TVs showing CNN. Collective "shock" is probably far too strong a term in a technical, psychological sense, but it's also the closest I can get to what I saw. Just sort of universal, low-key grief.

Robin Williams' performance stole the show. People loved it that night and talked about it the next day- not who won what. Now, 23 years later, Cancel Culture would probably raise hell about the drag outfits, the song's words and even Robin himself.
I just feel hurt for hearing Robin Williams singing that song. I live in Canada and he was one of my favourite comedians. I even sang Friend Like Me on karaoke in his honour.
I hope Trey & Matt are gonna win Oscars in the future. They DESERVE it & they make great contents.
