    Just to clarify. You can turn down the brightness of the headset itself to fix this game not having brightness settings in the menus. This launch really furstrated me! But I do think they will get the PSVR2 version sorted out. Hopefully they can do that quickly, because PSVR2 fans deserve that and they deserved a better launch. I think it’s still a pretty small team working on the game and they did just launch one essentially 3 new platforms at once, so we will see what happens. There is a TON of fun to be had with this game.

      Thank you for this review! I've been watching a few to make my decision on getting this game and this one was really well made! Now I'm shocked to hear you say some issues addressed within this video were patched so I'll be watching your video in the pinned comment now to make my final decision on getting it.

    Any time I hear "What were they thinking" I can hear the devs respond "We think our boss who forced us to make the deadline is an asshole" because 99% of the time, they are aware of the obvious faults, but chose to use their limited time to fix a different bug that wipes your harddrive or something.

      I am sure there was a lot of things they were working on fixing. My guess is, they just didn't playtest the VR stuff well enough. They probably had their headset at 50% brightness and used snap turning. If you do both of those things, you don't really notice the movement bug and maybe they think the brightness is fine. No excuse for what FOV rendering is doing though lo

      I believe they just run out of time. They could not delay again. I get it. No big deal. The fact is they are reactive to the community and are fixing the bugs at a fast pace. I see no real No problem here!

    I agree with everything you are saying, but since this game lacks so much that could be done on the PS VR 2, I’m glad the game is only $20.

    I compared the PSVR2 version yesterday whilst with my brother who was on PCVR, the difference in visuals (including texture quality, clarity, and resolution) were huge, and I can't believe how they've wasted the deep blacks of the PSVR2 OLED panels, I've seen it used to great effect on Madison VR & Propagation. When you delay the game from it's initial launch of August 2023 to work on optimising the port, it's actually laughable that this was the best they could do. Having said that, the controls and overall jank were a little more acceptable once I switched to snap turning and fiddled with the grip settings, game is still enjoyable and glad to see crossplay works straight away.

      With some tweaks I do think they can fix the issues we see here and polish into the experience we expected after the delay.
      Im keeping an eye on their discord for the updates.

      They run out of time that’s all. No big deal? Give them a bit more time and they will have it boxed off. Think hello games and NMS 😀

      @@bmackVRtotally agree. I truly believe they run out of time and the multi port was a case of they bit off more than they could chew. They pulled it off but just need more time. I have every faith 100%

    Game is among my favorite VR horror co-op titles to play. It never gets old on PCVR. Shame that PSVR2 needs some fixing...

    Does anyone know why I can’t grab stuff with my right controller on phas. I literally just bought the psvr2

      Does your grab button work in other games then it’s prolly just a phasmo bug. The game is known for its buggy and jankiness.

    Hey is most of the psvr2 issues fixed? And should I get a meta 3 for pc later like months or psvr2 right now

      I would say a good portion of the major issues are fixed.
      As for your second question, I think that depends on a few things.
      1. How good is your PC? For quest 3 PCVR, I wouldn’t be below a 3060. If you want to do a lot of modding or UEVR like I do, 3080 and up.
      2. How tech savvy are you? If you want a more plug and play experience, PSVR2 all day long. With Quest 3 PCVR, you may need to look into stuff like new routers, and troubleshoot the occasional frame rate or sound issue.

      @@kingsrky3931I just bought it today and it’s barely playable. Like I can’t hide properly because it’s too janky to open and close doors/lockers. Also, sometimes I can’t pick things up. On each of the three sessions I also had a problem with my hand movements not registering as they froze on screen. Sad because the game seems fun.

    It took me like 5 minutes to click through the User Agreement, lol. The game is in a much better place on PSVR2 now. They release a patch every week or so.

    Y’all it’s an early access, not even the full console release😭 I have 45 hours now 80% of the time in psvr 2 and while it is glitchy and a little buggy, it’s so much fun and my favorite way to play the game. Everyone needs to stop being so dramatic lol, also personally being able to see in the dark better is nice, the game is almost TOO dark on flatscreen with a flashlight. cant play any of the farmhouse maps flatscreen without getting lost 20 million times in the dark

      I do love this game. I have played it a ton on PCVR, so I feel you. The game gets much brighter when you unlock the better flash lights and you really learn the layouts of the maps over time. I remember feeling totally lost in the darkness for a good chunk of my playtime. But its different now. So I might have a different perspective on this one. I did however post a follow up video covering some of the things they fixed, so give it a watch.

    The PSVR2 port was extremely disappointing. The controls, item belt and hand axis/placement made it unplayable for me. For a game where you may need to drop your items, and run and hide at a moments notice or die, the controls are beyond unacceptable. I was shocked at how bad the textures and graphics were as well. I'm at least having a blast playing on flat-screen. Really hope they put some time and resources into fixing vr. Though from what I've heard from PCVR players; it sounds like VR has always taken a back seat, so I don't have much hope that any of this will be fixed any time soon.

      Yes the PCVR version has always taken a back seat. It’s never felt like a native VR game and I don’t think it ever will. I am a guy that is perfectly at home playing flat to VR mods, so some of those things don’t bother me, like weird hand axis.

    For years I've heard "Phasmophobia is such a scary game! You gotta try it!" And this version almost ruined the game completely for me as a first time player. Without the VR the game is ok, but it's still hard to play.

      Phasmo is a game with a bit of a learning curve as the evidence system can lead new players into thinking things just don’t work. What doesn’t help are the bugs, sometimes stuff legit doesn’t work.
      And in this instance, the VR decisions the dev team made were strange, but certainly fixable. I do feel with just a few tweaks they can get this to where it should be.

      I just got onto phas to try out psvr2 again and I'm able to actually look around AND walk at the same time now, so we're on the right track!

    This is unfortunate, i was really looking forward to this game. Once they fix all the bugs(if at all) then I will pick this game up. But i find this release disrespectful towards psvr2 players. How dare they release it in this state? For many, this was supposed to be our go to Halloween vr game… i guess i agree that they just cared about the flat screen release, which i have no interest in.

      I think that is a pretty good way to put it. As a PSVR 2 fan myself, this feels disrespectful. Its probably the result of a small team trying to do a lot of work at one time, but still the PSVR 2 version of the game just didn't get enough playtesting, and I am sure plenty of us would have offered to do that!

      @ sometimes the best decision is to just delay, but i feel because they had a horror game on their hands, they wanted to meet that halloween release window. Delays can such but its 100 times more respectable like the creators of wanderer fragments of fate keep doing

      @@bxile730 Yeha the PSVR 2 version needed more time in the cooker. I think they mostly just need to test better. Its obviously they don't have someone testing who uses smooth turning, and they left their headset at whatever brightness it was and didn't have any issues.
      I don't see the other issues being fixed quickly. I think this will always be the version that is visually downgraded.

      @@bxile730 I should clarify. The birghtness was partially my fault. I can go home and fix that issue, by just turning down the brightness of my headset. In PCVR phasmo phobia, there is a brightness slider in the menu, and I couldn't find it on PSVR2. Bu I didn't turn down the brightness int he headset when I was working on my first impressions (I straight up forgot about it lol). However I do think its a problem that they don't ask players to calibrate the brightness.

    This game is janky AF. It seems like a fun game, but the lack of movement options in VR is pretty bad. It feels like VR from 5 years ago. The controls are awful.

    We have batman arkam vr on a standalone headset and we have blade and sorcery how can they make so good Graphics but these game on psvr2 end up being like ps2 game

      Idk man it’s a real head scratcher sometimes. I would say this looks more like ps3 though, if that makes it any better lol. Lots of objects and different light sources are prolly to blame.

      All to do with money mate. Everything is. You are like comparing multi billion dollar studios to small studios of a few peeps that work hard night and day to bring it to us console users. You are being to hard on then when deep down you know this game is going to be polished and phenomenal in time. Dude they need to make money to pay wages to continue development and to do so they needed to get console players on board which will make them a lot of money. It was in an ok state at launch and I think everyone is being to hard on them. It will probs be absolutely fine in a few weeks. I have no issues with it right now on ps5 and psvr2 but I prefer VR

    HOW DOES IT HAVE 5.4K 98% 5 STAR RATINGS??!! Did all of the devs friends and family get this for free as long as they gave 5 stars?? I feel so stupid for even wasting 7 minutes on this and really thought I did something wrong.. Thank you for saving others from my mistake..

      But it’s also a flat screen game. That’s probably where most of the reviews came from.
