With PCVR compatibility for the PSVR2 becoming so popular and the headset being so well received by PCVR gamers, there is always the possibility that Sony will just put out a firmware update to open up the whole feature set for pcvr developers and moders?

@@rodriguezkev I am sure the price cut is imminent, but PCVR enthusiasts are really looking at the PSVR2 as a really good value high performance PCVR headset with OLED displays and displayport technology even at its current retail price, I paid £650 for a Reverb G2 in 2022 and that was a great LCD headset but the PSVR2 just outclasses it in every way but for the audio solution for £529, and to think it was on special offer for £349 last week, its just amazing value for money even at its full retail price.

I think I got into VR quite early when I bought the PSVR1 for my PS4, which introduced me to a whole new dimension of gaming. The first time I put it on, I knew that VR gaming had hooked me and wouldn’t let go. After that, I went through headsets like the Rift S, Quest 2, and currently, I have a PSVR2 and Quest 3 at home. Last year, I sold my gaming PC with an RTX 3080, and I somewhat regret it, but since I’m semi-professionally involved in creative work, my current Mac suits me much better. Anyway, with the PC adapter for the PSVR2 and the fact that I’m all about the OLED gang in VR (the immersion is on a whole different level compared to LCD), I’m now just waiting for the announcement of the RTX 5080 to build a new PC. I’m planning on doing that next year.
I’ve been following you for a while now, and I find you incredibly likable. I hope that in time, you’ll gain many more subscribers because you create quality content, and I’m glad I can share my passion for VR gaming with others in this way. Thanks a lot for the video! 🔥

We need like 1 more year so a (hybrid wired/wireless) pcvr headset with pancake lenses, eye tracking, inside-out tracking, and bright mOLED displays can drop along with the 5080/90 then PCVR can really cook. Maybe Valve can come though.

The reason I am not PC gamer anymore for a long time now is the setup stuff and all the problems you have to deal with with a lot of games. So I might give it a go (as I have a quite powerful PC) but I feel uncomfortable because using the Quest 2 and later the Quest 3 with PC games was sometimes a nightmare. Especially with the controls. I gave up on some PC VR games completely. Configuring the controls in Steam is just a mess.

I was a PC gamer for a good part of 20+ years but once I got my ps4-ps5, I mostly left PC. I will be getting a brand new PC now because Psvr2 has gotten me fully into VR. But you are right, PC is just too much tinkering and issues. While consoles is just gaming.

@@TheVRResistance lol y'all are just lazy, I've spent maybe an hour of my life in total with "tinkering", aka just making sure my settings are correct. @@deluge6479pc gaming is much easier than it used to be but it still does have issues. You'll probably see this more as the games your playing get older and hardware changes. Things just don't work from time to time and needs you to jump through hoops and look online to help solve problems. It just comes with the territory of pc gaming.

    • @Wooskii1
      @Wooskii1 20 дней назад

Maybe I'm just lucky (also most people I know) but hearing "PC gaming involves too much tinkering" hits me the exact same way as hearing elderly people say their smartphone "sucks" or is "too complicated" because "Too much stuff come up on the screen" while I sit watching them hold it all wrong, like a credit or business card (touching all over the TOUCH SCREEN) while it's unlocked as they complain how "It's always doing stuff I never told the Siiri to do!"
Normal PC gaming is damn near as reliable as console gaming these days imo, VR being a newer medium is where the problems start popping up...
I just came back to PC gaming after 10+ years and I almost can't believe how accessible it is these days. I built my rig ~3 years ago and I can only remember one single time when a game (F.E.A.R. 1) didn't just work right off the bat. After the initial build then setup (drivers, Windows updates, settings, etc.) everything has been FLAWLESS, and I'm even running a setup that I would have called "bleeding edge", "elite", or "super user" ten years ago- 1440p main monitor w/ VRR (G-Sync) normally @120+ Hz and a second monitor in portrait with multiple browser tabs, hardware monitoring, and Discord all running perfectly together. So far every device I've plugged in (M&KB, mic, headphones, DAC, AMP, gamepads, etc) have been plug and play, excluding VR stuff. I'm legit getting a console-like experience, but with the many extras PC gaming offers. I also built a rig for my cousin (the same cousin who was afraid to use HDMI on his laptop) and he's been relatively trouble free too...
I'm thrilled with PC gaming at the moment, but I understand some people would rather just get a console, pay the monthly subscription for online, agree to the terms, and accept being locked into a walled garden with less features if it means thinking about what they're doing slightly less. Time + features = money, and it depends on how much your time plus the features you're getting are worth to you personally.

Given the connectivity problems, having BT in the PC adapter would have been a connectivity nightmare as many users are having to buy extenders to avoid EM interference. Having the BT separate was the right call for many reasons, including not requiring Sony to manage drivers.
Ideally, the controllers would have connected to the headset not the PC/console.

I’m new to vr and would like to upgrade to the ps5 with vr. I also want to explore pc vr. The only problem I have is that I don’t have the budget to buy a second pc with the required specs. I can just afford updating my current pc with a 4090 and i9 and the ps5 and psvr.
Is there a way to leave my updated pc in another room in my house, and still connect to it from another room?
I am disabled and I have to get out of my wheelchair several times a day and lay on my side in bed. When I am in bed, I get bored and I want to play my ps4 (ps5 when I upgrade), then I switch back to my wheelchair and go back to my desktop for work. Moving my desktop. Isn’t an option as my desk is where I have everything setup to work that I need to accommodate my disability.
Is this possible with a long display port cable? And a Wi-Fi keyboard and mouse?
This adapter seems like a great option to use with my pc and ps5.

Honestly it is good for what it is, I did not expect the screens to be this bright and colorful, it almost feels like everything is way dimmer on purpose on PS5.
But jesus the headset is soo high res and performance on just about everything (except ofc HLA) sucks, even when I lower the res to its lowest via the SteamVR options. Big demanding mods are definitely a big no on this headset lol
I do just wish switching between PC and PS5 for the controllers was easier ngl, if Sony sold controllers separately for not a whole lot it would be something

    hi Guys, hi Jammy,
Sorry I hope you don'T mind if i have a technical question.
With the same setup (PSVR2, pc adapter, steam vr), i have an issue which maybe you faced as well.
In Steam VR home, and in ANY games, when i moving my head left and right, the objects and the whole surrounding starts moving a little, like waving to the same direction.
For example in Steam VR home, the floor waves when i am moving my head left-right.
same in Elite dangerous. In Hangar, the ship also waves with the HDM.
    Any thoughts?
I am going crazy now. tried many settings in SteamVR and reinstalled steam as well.
'cause Steam controls the whole PSVR2, this happens with every single game.
Thanks for your time and answer.
    Cheers,
    Greg

For me being just a PC gamer, do not have a play station 5, and already have the Quest 3 headset, I will not go out and buy an additional PSVR headset for my PC. With the PSVR prices back up to normal high prices and availability of the adaptor is none can be found, it maybe a hard choice right now to try and get these.
Who knows when Sony will drop the price of the headset again. I feel they did this to try and get a market share of the PC gaming people. It didn't fool me. I got the valve index last year for the sole reason that the psvr2 was not compatible with a pc, now I'm feeling some real buyer's remorse and I really want the psvr2 but I can't justify buying this headset after spending 1k on the index...

The TP link recommended dongle was garbage, i had one for my laptop so used it on my PC and the tracking was awful but the onboard BT on my aorus master MB worked so much better so now it works flawlessly

The dongle needs to be updated with the latest driver from TP Link website and ideally used with a USB extender. Then it works fine.

I don't have a gaming PC. I just have a Lenovo think center. I think it's got the minimum requirements but people are saying no. It also doesn't have a DisplayPort adapter so I'd have to buy like a two-way one. I bought the adapter already and the DisplayPort and the dongle and half-life Alex. So I'm in the whole 120 bucks. I don't know if I should try to buy an adapter and spend another $20 and be $140 in the hole.... Cuz I'm not buying a game gaming PC just to play a few games. I could go out and buy another headset for that. Nothing really works out and my favor anymore so I'm not surprised but I was really upset that a lot of people told me I don't have enough power to play and I wasted 120 bucks. I think maybe after aliens I might just get rid of my psvr 2 at this point

Yeah I just kind of lost the steam and got kind of pissed off because I can't find any help and then the two people just said basically I'm an idiot and I don't have a powerful enough PC. There's got to be a way around it. Thank you for the recommendation. I will check it out. A lot of these RUclipsrs don't help other people out and a lot of the main RUclipsrs don't take time to answer people for the most part cuz they're busy making more content but I appreciate it. I can't be the only one experiencing this, but it feels like it. @@FurBurger151

I had to go back to my index. The psvr2 keeps crashing my pc and giving me steam errors I’ve never seen before. It works sometimes. It’s a 1 out of 10 for me until sony fixes the issue. I’ve tried everything and I mean everything.

What I find aggravating, the Sony adaptor is sold out. Unless you buy on eBay then I will be paying $120 versus the $60 msrp. The actual VR device is also on eBay for $350 on average so I'm looking at over $450 or so. Or love my Quest 3...I will likely buy the whole set then refer to videos like yours

yep! I’ve tried Q3, pro (but only twice), Q2 and Apple Vision pro. As I say in the review - if you prefer that wide sweetspot and wireless nature then get a quest! for me though, I love OLED due to its colours

Two things ... 1) how does the PSVR2 compare to the Meta Quest 3
and 2) will Sony now allow their exclusive games (such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Resident Evil 7 and 8 ) come to the PC?

    • @TheVRResistance
      @TheVRResistance 4 месяца назад +1

Sony exclusives won't come to PC. Flat games barely sell, they have 0 profit incentive to port VR games when they actually need to make more exclusives on it. They have to worry about that.

Do you own a Quest 3? You’re talking about comparison with a Quest but I’m unsure you have one. Nothing in your channel suggest you own a Quest 3. And your comparison is so paper thin.. All I heard was a lot buzz words that Quest haters who dont own a quest always mention. Compression. There’s a reason why a lot of quest3 owners dont care about that anymore. You also never even mentioned the lens or some of the other things. Making this a clearly bias comparison.

    • @Jammyhero

I have heavily used Q3, Own Q2. love both headsets! I tell people to buy a quest for its benefits in this video.
all of my 2022 to mid 2023 PCVR videos are filmed on quest. i’ve also used Apple vision pro and Quest Pro (but only once each!)
However, this is a review of PSVR2, with some light comparisons to quest.
If you want a full comparison this isn’t the video for ya.

    • @chan13153
      @chan13153 4 месяца назад

@@Jammyhero If your gonna do a comparison even small do it properly. Compression for starters isn't a big deal on the Q3 due to Virtual desktop 200 bitrate Av1 and 500 bitrate H.264+. And on wired link 960 bitrate as well. I would say the biggest difference two devices for PCVR purpose it really came down to this. If its something really quick and not a full comparison.
PSVR2= Wired + better colors (OLED)
      Quest 3 = Wired/wireless + better clarity (Pancake Lens).
