I personally keep it in my cars glove box compartment where it will at least be shaded. I live in Texas, so I completely understand the bipolar weather thing... But mine still works great after leaving it there for little periods of time!
You can use it out doors, it's not weatherproof or anything but in normal (non-wet) weather it should be just fine. As far as if it can take a drop though... It probably can take a slight drop here and there, but I wouldn't just toss it around like it's super rugged. Hopefully this helps!

Now if your specifically talking about a gaming laptop, those usually consume a lot of power and you could probably squeeze maybe a extra hour possibly out of you labtop with this device. That is a very ruff estimate though and it could be way more or much less than what I guessed, but it ultimately depends again on just how much power you labtop consumes.🤷♂️

I would like the capability of the ac port. Also it doesn't alert me of the percentage of the battery, I only get one bar all the time. I have never any issue with goal zero on other hand.
