    I bought based on another review from another DJ. It worked for him and with a 12" powered speaker running 75% output it ran 3hrs. Added a 15 sub it dropped half hour. This is great for a remote wedding ceremony or if power goes out at the reception. Keeps the music going. I just ordered a second unit to power the other channel

      Don't see how the type of engine would matter. It should work as long as it's a standard battery. May need to leave it connected a bit longer for larger capacity batteries, but it should work.

    Im considering buying this for my camper van because it'd be nice to have an extra car jump, however the main purpose would be as an external battery for my laptop and phone. Ive heard it charges MacBook pro 13-inch, do you have any experience with this?

    • @T3GMedia
      @T3GMedia  4 года назад

      Not specifically with a 13" MBP but it powers my Windows computer just fine . I think it's also going to depend which model MBP - they have different wattage if memory serves. It claims 7.9hrs worth of charge for the MacBook, which I take to mean depleting the Halo fully from a full charge will give you probably about 90ish percent charge on the computer.

    • @T3GMedia
      @T3GMedia  4 года назад

      I've had it over a year. It's typically dormant. I grab it every once in a while to use, and it typically still has charge. Now I would say that you don't want to keep batteries in the trunk. Temperature affects batteries. Depending where you are in the world, if it gets very hot, this could be damaging the cells. Same with cold. Happened to my tree trimmer's battery. It sat in the garage, and when I went to charge it, no dice. Not even a trickle. I would say if you can, leave it for a few hours plugged in indoors to see if it charges. If it doesn't, maybe contact them and see if you can get a replacement. I'm not sure about their warranty.

    I’ve been using it. I got it for the ac/dc portion. It has been on for less than 5 minutes at a time (in my house/ controlled environment) with a curling iron and this is the 9th day. It is already down to one bar. I was looking for a review with actual use so I would know if I gotta lemon or not. I expected much better than that.

    • @T3GMedia
      @T3GMedia  4 года назад +3

      Well I can tell you that a curling iron is about 20x the power draw of a 5v cell phone adapter, since it pulls the full 110/120v from the plug. A curling iron draws on average 10 amps. So 9x5 is 45, so 45 minutes of full voltage draw at 10 amps, and it's still not dead? Pretty solid. I would maybe keep in mind that this is a power bank intended for electronics. It rates 7.9hours worth of charge for a MacBook Pro - the adapter for which only pulls 20v at 3 amps - and that takes about 3 hours for a full charge. So 1/3 of the time (roughly) at more than 3 times the amperage, and 6 times the voltage. What I'm saying is I don't think you got a lemon. I think you are using the device for unintended purposes. Thanks for watching.

      I'm excited for the next generation of this product. When it gets type-c and quick charge it will be a beast. Love the idea of the AC input. Don't be misled by the 58,000 millawatt hours (as you announced), that equates to less than twenty thousand milliamp hours. They mislead you by using the larger number. For this kind of money it should also come with a case. Can't wait to see the next version that comes out, I think it will turn out to be the best of the bunch. Until then, I'm sticking with the Audew twenty thousand milliamp hour which was the RUclips winner in the test done by Project Farm.

No Wireless charging for I Phones like some of the videos here...? Included is a tire inflator , that plugs into bolt for power. Weak but will inflate over time.. I'm a courier and I've been taking my laptop with me for some light gaming in the dead times. Problem is I don't want to waste fuel running the laptop, so I've just been running it off of the internal battery. This gets me about an hour or so of runtime before I get a low battery warning. There are days when I can sit for SEVERAL hours at a time. I could use a portable battery and if it had a car jump starter as well, so much the better. I've forgotten a few times to turn my key to the accessories position which leaves the dash lights on and drains the car battery. Being a courier I need to be able to go the moment my dispatcher calls me. Today is PRIME day on Amazon. I've looked at a bunch of solutions. This is by far the cheapest and since my name is neither Kennedy, nor Rockefeller I'm seriously looking at it. Your review has pushed me even closer. Thanks.

      I never did update, so here we go... I can't use it to power my laptop, nor even CHARGE my laptop while the laptop is off. Even off the laptop draws too high a wattage. The 58830 is rated for I believe a 65 watt draw, my laptop is higher than that. I can't find the wattage draw on either the laptop itself or the power brick, but the power bank alarm screams at me and light goes orange or red when I plug even the power brick into it without the laptop connected. HOWEVER!!!!!! I'm holding onto it. It's perfectly fine for what it is meant for, and I'll be keeping it for that. I've already used it to charge my phone which started giving me low power warnings one day. This thing charges my phone whereas connecting the phone to the car USB only holds it steady. I believe the power bank would probably charge my phone from 20% or less to 100% in less than 90 minutes, possible much less. And at some point I'm sure I'll be able to use it to jumpstart my car.

    • @MrLonewolf501
      @MrLonewolf501 2 года назад

      It will not jump start a car... A friend got one... I told her these were wasteful gimmicks... Fortunately, my battery died in my truck, so I tell her let me try it out... My truck battery had 6 volts, but volts are not what crank motors, amps are... That's why batteries are rated by CCA Cold Cranking Amps... So, on it's best day, this thing will put out 58 amps... Look at what your battery puts out, to start your car, then us common sense...
      Now to the power supply for laptops... I am as I type running of it's power to see how much actual time I can use it, before it dies... I'm only on FB while testing it... Not running no gaming programs... So far.... At 30 minutes it went to 3/4 power... At 45 minutes it is not 1/2 dead, or half charged... Whichever way you want to see it... I'd guess I'm going to get about an hour, to an hour, and a half out of it, just using and internet browser... I also read the instructions that come with it... The inverter (Where you plug in AC devices, like a laptop) is only rated for up to 65 watt devices... Most laptops operate at 60 watts... Gaming laptops??? My concern is, there's no cooling fan on it... I'm thinking it's going to get a little warn with my laptop drawing almost max watts from it...

    • @charlesballard5251
      @charlesballard5251 2 года назад

      @@MrLonewolf501 Yeah, WOW!!!! I don't know if I ever followed up or not but since you posted this, I'll do it here. It will NOT power my laptop. So that idea is out the window. Second, in the last year I've NEVER left my lights on or my ignition in anything other than the accessories position long enough to drain the battery, so I've never had to use it to jump start my car, nor anyone else's. The only thing I've used it for is charging my phone or my Amazon Kindle Fire on those rare occasions when they drop low enough that I get a warning tone. And for the record, someone bought me a different model as a thank you present a few months ago. Why, I do not know. She got me the "Air" model that can supposedly inflate your tires. Again, I've never had to try it. But I want to say that these things do hold their charge. I think the incredibly hot summer we've had has eaten into the retention a bit, but if it has, hopefully the batteries are not damaged.

    58830 milliamp hours? You sure about that? The Halo Bolt 58830 is actually 15,900 milliamp hours @ 3.7V, or (15.9 amp hours * 3.7 volts) = 58830 watt hours / TSA limit is 100 Wh.
