I'm not white, but not once in my years of gaming have I thought "Why does my character not have my skin color?" A character doesn't need to have my skin color to relate and empathize to them.
I'm Portuguese so I have never seen a main character with my nationality and yet it never bothered me once. I'm all about enganging gameplay. If people are so worried about the protagonist's color or nationality, just play games where you have a character creator
As a girl, I never cared less about the gender of the characters. My most favourite games have male characters. I really don't see a reason why I should care.
Sadly not as much as 99% more like 79-89% as their indoctrination has been considerably effective. That doesn't stop the lies that their side has >50% of the people.

We need to support Japanese gaming companies and get them to make their versions of COD. Their culture generally doesn't give a shit about woke pandering. For example their anime is hated by lots of western reviewers because in Japan they worship the female form.

I havent bought a single cod game in my life but f*cking calling signs as pride flags is just too much. Games are becoming more political every year, and I dont think many pride people play mw2. It's like activision made a game for people who dont even play Call of duty.

I've been working as game programmer for 5-6 years now. Most of these issues come from publisher. They always try to add stuff to a game that does not make sense for maximum profit and to please everyone in hope to reach wider audience and thus more profit. It never works. Most of them never have played a game!
I was a journalist reporting on this as far back as 2014. They ran my name through the mud and worked extra hard for 5 years to cancel me until I quit from the stress. Glad to see mainstream folks waking up to this.

Start up a yt Channel covering games and give honest opinions. Don't put your name out there, and while you need to leave the chat available, don't look at any of it. As long as you are honest and cover a good variety of games, you will likely be a good source to point to for game credit. Do be sure to explain your 1 to 10 scale. A 5 for me is average, I know people who see a 7 or 8 as average, and most game journalists see a 9.5 as average, but any scale is good as long as you inform the listener/ veiwer as to what the numbers mean.

I stayed away from Days Gone for so long even though I purchased it the morning it was released, mainly due to all the negative reviews from critics. I started playing it about a week ago, and it has single-handedly been one of the best gaming experiences I've had in recent memory. There's a reason it has a 93% Very Positive rating out of 50,000 reviews on Steam - it's actually a very good game.
Agreed. I recently got it myself, so I guess missed the whole "patching" period.. But despite what it may have started out as, right now it is a badass game. And I got it on sale on steam for 15 bucks during a sale, had to buy it. Best 15 bucks I've spent in a while!
Console gaming needs vote based review systems (maybe some system exists, but not similar to steam) so badly. But I'm sure that's never going to happen.

Funnily enough, being a white dude myself, I often change my game character to (A) a woman and (B) of different ethnicity. Why would I want to be "me" in the game? My real "me" is a boring slouch, not a dashing hero, so I'd rather be someone else in the games I play. This insane need of modern devs, film makers etc. to make sure their audience "sees themselves" in their product is really baffling to me.

what puzzles me is that some companies are bending to these crazy woke ideas and changing their products to have them pleased. The problem here is that they do not represent the gaming community and the real gamers are the ones affected by all these craziness in the end.
Creating games now slowly is looking like making movies in Hollywood to make sure they get awards: checking all boxes to not "offend" somebody in some way because then, less money and also dealing with drama.
The only option left is to vote with your dollar. If they want to ignore 98% of their customer base to bow to the 2%, they don't deserve our hard earned money. They will only listen to the Almighty Dollar.
As you get older... you start to realize that nothing will top the games of old... and replaying them endlessly is more enjoyable than over 95% of new games on their first playthrough.
As I get older, I've realized the best games coming out these days are small indie games. It takes more effort to sift through all of them to find the gems, but absolutely worth it!

also just look beyond pop games. look at indie games. or aa games. or games from studios that you never even heard of before. if a game is rated as "very positive" or "overwhelmingly positive" on steam, does the developer's name matter? does it have to be a popular franchise? so look beyond the call of duties, look beyond the far crys and look into a wealth of undiscovered games that were made with passion and not to push an agenda. there's lots.

I bought Day's Gone on a sale recently and this game is totally underated, it has a fun gameplay, interesting plot, captivating characters, amazing graphics, when i finished the game i was like "man, why i never heard much about this game?"
I love Days Gone for everything. Atmosphere, graphics, hordes, bikes, gameplay mechanics, that @ss of the protagonist's girlfriend... On the main subject though: it's laughable how some marginal groups(with money and power) are calling us normies "marginal groups" nowadays as soon as we start talking.
I used to work at Riot games and would say the problem is very multifaceted. We used to be a pretty normal happy company until gaming journalists (specifically Kotaku) did multiple exposes on the 'sexism' inside our culture. Now, I'm a woman and Kotaku actually set up a call with me to talk about my experience, and I told them it was great working there and felt it was more meritocratic than anywhere else I'd been before Of course they didn't include that and continued to speak to current and past employees to find whatever they could to fit their narrative Now what company WOULDN'T have disgruntled employees, or instances of racism/sexism when you spoke individually and privately to past employees?? But this was used as a basis to organize a massive culture shift , and you can bet this impacted the game design decisions as well (which are usually made specifically by game designers btw, not developers)
Game designers ARE developers. They just do the most important job since it is ultimately the creativity and mechanics of a game that rakes in the dollars, not monotonous graphics and bugs work.

I wouldn't blame game design decisions on developers as they are a totally different group of people. would you consider artists developers because they contribute to the creativity of a game? I think it does a disservice both to software developers and game designers when we conflate development with design. they're two different fields completely even if they both contribute to a game being made. it gets murkier at smaller companies when they're the same person, but these big games discussed in the video are made by huge companies with specialized roles.

I loved Days gone. Beautiful scenery the bike dynamics are a fantastic compromise between accuracy and fun and the panic when being chased by 300 screaming zombies when you only have amo in your pistol left is awesome.

One of the things I love most about gaming is getting to be something I'm not. Super Mario Bros. is a classic, and it never would have been if only plumbers played it. I don't need to look like a character to relate to them. Just the other day I watched Family Matters for the 1st time since I was a kid, and to my shock I saw so much of my personality in Steve Urkel of all people. I now strongly suspect that Urkel had a profound impact on me, helping to shape me into who I am today, but I am not black or even male. None of that stuff matters. It's all about who the character is, not what they look like.

I used to work for a big developer of a very famous AAA game and I can tell you that the Studio heads were totally afraid of their employees. 3 major things happened I think to cause this. The introduction of aggressive DEI and zero tolerance harrassment polices, a shift to give employees more of a voice, and the addition of Diversity officers and departments. This led to the leaders relenting to any ridiculous idea or criticism of game content that ultimately harmed the product. The diversity team, and I'm not making this up, had as part of their initiatives a system whereby they could look at any content going in the game - from character models to sound effects - to make sure they couldn't offend anyone. I remember on one occasion an employee of color in a very low status position finding fault with one line of dialog that presented a black character in a dubious light and boom the next day the line was cut and we had to rerecord the line costing hundreds of thousands of dollars - actor, new facial capture, editing, etc. But the line was actually really cool and gave the character more depth. But no it had to go because it made the black guy look bad. There was also pressure at the Publisher level to become more woke and hiring writers to reflect this. It was a ww2 game and yet there was constantly directives from on high asking us to find ways to have women and people of color in the story. To force that in rather than just telling interesting stories. The average dev in the trenches was most likely not down with this but afraid to put their heads above the parapet for fear of being terminated. I could write pages about this.
This is actually terrifying. What is even happening to the world? Can this continue like this? Is it a good business model to have or how do you think it will effect the industry in the next 10-20-30 years?
Diversity Officers sound like dictators and thought police to me. This kind of stuff makes me think the only solution is developers are gonna have to go independent for the next decade or so in order to make the titles they want and get away from such insanity. It'll be a struggle but sometimes it's better to just start over if it means you don't have to be involved with a cult.
The Diversity departments that got implemented into companies is part of the woke agenda. They created a department and positions with salaries that serve no real purpose to the company and employees at all beyond their own self interest to continue to come up with reasons why they're even there to begin with.

Even better yet, a lot of my favorite games allow you to create your own character. I get that some of the big scale budget productions don't have the ability to implement a lot of this stuff. I loved Dayz Gone…for me…one of the best Zombie Survival Games I’ve ever played along side Dying Light 1 and with regards to entertainment in general I don’t need matching skin tones and body parts to enjoy and/or empathise.

I totally agree. After i played the demo of harvestella, I was completely done with modern games. They couldn't even make the male character look male. There was no difference with non binary and male! So I'm on board. Retro games were also the time where games were games and movies accompanied by gameplay like more modern games are becoming.
I'm a 56 year old female who as been playing video games since Pong. So I think I have a right as an elder of the genre to say that most new games suck and I replay all the great oldies with gratitude and glee. Days Gone is the last game I purchased recently that was worth playing and replaying again and again..good taste girl! I played the Atari a little but my first real gaming days started with Wolfenstein on a Windows 3.1 computer that I had to manually load the autoexec.bat on to free up enough memory to get the game to run. Console gaming ruined gaming.
I lover video games. When I was severely depressed they helped me. If I could mange to get out of bed I always tried games and especially a game called "devil daggers" managed to keep my attention away from bad thoughts

Why buy Spiderman when you can force Sony to spend millions on the rights and have it cost them the business. The developers will still be talented and available to hire once Sony goes under. Except now they can focus on the project and not some agenda. Why go and support this crap when you can open your own company, make millions from the actual customers by offering what they want. Days gone was an amazing game with a post apocalyptic world. The world is similar to many others but does have its own unique spin on a few aspects. Specifically the focus on biker gang survivor groups. I loved the horde and trap focus on a few the personal story. I did a 100 percent completion

Plenty of indies that aren't caving into the woke for new games, and a backlog of THOUSANDS of non-woke old games. We never have to buy a game released after 2022 (or hell, even earlier than that) again and never run out of games to play.

In the original edition of that Spiderman game, the flags were American - they made them pride flags for the remake - the mod just put them back how they originally appeared. Not only that, all they did to create the mod was copy some code from the Middle Eastern version of the remake. There's some pretty Orwellian connotations to all of that.
The original Sam Raimi Spiderman film conveniently released right after 9/11 and people rallied around him as a sort of patriotic symbol at a time where everyone felt like they needed a hero which likely played into the movie/franchise's success. Likely not the original intention of Raimi and everyone involved in making the film, that was what became the case after the fact, but it is comparable to how Spiderman is still being used to push narratives now.

The Call of duty one is what really gets me. How do you make a military game with 0 American flags but 22 pride flags? And when you do have an American flag it's a destroyed one. These developers aren't hiding their agenda at all.

Another game I noticed that has gone woke is Assassin's Creed. I remember the old games would have a disclaimer saying how the game was worked by people from different religious beliefs and multicultural. Now they added sexual orientations and "gender identities".
These people have turned people like me from the most accepting of individuals to just wanting to line these wokies up on the wall and be done with it. I just want to go back to the days before this virus took hold and started giving these bullies power to harrass everyone who doesn't think like them.

There two decades ago (and probably way before) in my country there were zero issues when it came to homosexuality and such, basically it was accept people for who they were and it was fine. Now i can´t even leave the house without seeing some "pride" flags at shopping malls. The people with abnormal preferences being highlighted for how "special and amazing" they are and given special benefits. This "woke" acceptance movement did not make people more accepting of abnormals, it only made regular people repulsed by them.

This reminds me of siege recently. They’ve added text chat bans if they detect you do anything they don’t like or if you get reported enough times and now they added voice chat bans alongside it. All it did was make people communicate less than before these were added and killed the game. Yes we wanna stop people from being full assholes but at the end of the day, it’s kind of how it works and goes with the territory. Now, communication, which is literally what siege is all about, doesn’t exist anymore.
It is said Days Gone sold more than any previous game Bend Studio ever made combined. Unless, Sony finally releases the actual sales tally, I think a sequel was cancelled only because of Sony's change in it's executive makeup. An important executive at Sony (Shawn Layden) was a big supporter for the Days Gone project. Him leaving doomed the chances of a sequel.
Working in a software development company, I can tell that developers are the last people that can decide about anything they implement. Decisions like that are made by Product Managers, Project Managers, Marketing Managers or just the C-Level. And you are facing these kind of decisions in every software development company. Not just games. When starting the argument about the reasoning, you usually get responses like 'The product is selling anyways', 'It does not impact the functionality' or 'We need to catch up with competition'. Truth behind it is usually that these decisions are pushed by upper management people that are detached from the user base. Yes, they expect no change in sales. But they expect better partnership deals and more visibility. And that is why they prefer micro management decisions over user base driven decisions.
In the end, the user base is responsible for all this. If they don't like that, then they must refuse do pay for and play it. And if they don't pay for and play it, the management either produces a game nobody plays and get bankrupt or they change their product. But as long as the money flows, they will continue, and money flows either due to players paying or by players playing and other interested parties paying to influence players. So don't p(l)ay. Period.
Well then whoever needs to cut the crap regardless of who or how or they are going to find more and more sticking with old consoles to keep playing games that dont suck
I don't think the developers are out of touch, I think what we are seeing is developers actually having contempt for their audience. Essentially using popular franchises and platforms to spread their own messaging in a kind of modern preaching tactic. They want their customers money and transactional is how they want the relationship to remain.
If you are watching this more then likely your a fellow gamer.. We love to do this. We work hard we provide for our family and we deserve to enjoy something to get away for a few hours. Regarding the Spiderman PC flag replacement mod, it doesn't actually replace anything. The mod changes the localization from US to RUS. Meaning that a Russian version of the game is more American than the American one.
There are American flags in the original game as well. There's only one building with pride flags and so far as I recall it's two of the standard rainbow type no gay characters (that I can remember), no gay costumes, no race swapping or anything else. Insomniac themselves included it because one of there staff noticed this in real life in New York City and it was included likely for representation over anything else but ultimately was that small way to try dodging hate and now both sides hate them because the game wasn't woke enough and gamers think it's too woke for including a couple pride flags in one place in the game. Of course Insomniac Games had a very woke moment (you can as far as I know still find it on their channel here on YT) where Ted Price the CEO and Founder of the studio made a video "dunking" on then President Trump's Middle East travel ban. They got a bit of flak for that (also from me) in the comments section as well as from fans elsewhere telling Ted that he clearly didn't know what he was talking about citing the actual restrictions. Their games so far have stayed away from being "woke" in my personal opinion, but I'm personally worried that they could go woke in the future due to past virtue-signaling. I don't remember them getting a ton of flak for their women's day video which read like a "work for us" advert next to the tone-deaf travel ban video. It would be really bad if they made their next game "Marvel's Wolverine" woke.
I think it should be a feature right in character creation along with other common selections of personal traits and preferences to choose your gender and sexual orientation, a simple checkbox to enable or remove dialog lines and scenes that associate the character to a certain movement. If they want to go down the woke road its Okkkk but give the rest of us a choice. Baldur´s Gate 3 for instance is a great game but gets kind of strange at times when all male characters start making moves at you despite the fact I'm playing a straight character already engaged in a relation with a female partner. I wish in character creation there was an option to check so this sort of dialog could be remove from my play.

I've been working as game programmer for 5-6 years now. Most of these issues come from publisher. They always try to add stuff to a game that does not make sense for maximum profit and to please everyone in hope to reach wider audience and thus more profit. It never works. Most of them never have played a game!

Do be sure to explain your 1 to 10 scale. A 5 for me is average, I know people who see a 7 or 8 as average, and most game journalists see a 9.5 as average, but any scale is good as long as you inform the listener/ veiwer as to what the numbers mean.

I stayed away from Days Gone for so long even though I purchased it the morning it was released, mainly due to all the negative reviews from critics. I started playing it about a week ago, and it has single-handedly been one of the best gaming experiences I've had in recent memory. There's a reason it has a 93% Very Positive rating out of 50,000 reviews on Steam - it's actually a very good game.
Agreed. I recently got it myself, so I guess missed the whole "patching" period.. But despite what it may have started out as, right now it is a badass game. And I got it on sale on steam for 15 bucks during a sale, had to buy it. Best 15 bucks I've spent in a while!

Funnily enough, being a white dude myself, I often change my game character to (A) a woman and (B) of different ethnicity. Why would I want to be "me" in the game? My real "me" is a boring slouch, not a dashing hero, so I'd rather be someone else in the games I play. This insane need of modern devs, film makers etc. to make sure their audience "sees themselves" in their product is really baffling to me.

what puzzles me is that some companies are bending to these crazy woke ideas and changing their products to have them pleased. The problem here is that they do not represent the gaming community and the real gamers are the ones affected by all these craziness in the end.

As I get older, I've realized the best games coming out these days are small indie games. It takes more effort to sift through all of them to find the gems, but absolutely worth it!

also just look beyond pop games. look at indie games. or aa games. or games from studios that you never even heard of before. if a game is rated as "very positive" or "overwhelmingly positive" on steam, does the developer's name matter? does it have to be a popular franchise? so look beyond the call of duties, look beyond the far crys and look into a wealth of undiscovered games that were made with passion and not to push an agenda. there's lots.

I bought Day's Gone on a sale recently and this game is totally underated, it has a fun gameplay, interesting plot, captivating characters, amazing graphics, when i finished the game i was like "man, why i never heard much about this game?"
I love Days Gone for everything. Atmosphere, graphics, hordes, bikes, gameplay mechanics, that @ss of the protagonist's girlfriend... On the main subject though: it's laughable how some marginal groups(with money and power) are calling us normies "marginal groups" nowadays as soon as we start talking.
I used to work at Riot games and would say the problem is very multifaceted. We used to be a pretty normal happy company until gaming journalists (specifically Kotaku) did multiple exposes on the 'sexism' inside our culture. Now, I'm a woman and Kotaku actually set up a call with me to talk about my experience, and I told them it was great working there and felt it was more meritocratic than anywhere else I'd been before
Of course they didn't include that and continued to speak to current and past employees to find whatever they could to fit their narrative
Now what company WOULDN'T have disgruntled employees, or instances of racism/sexism when you spoke individually and privately to past employees?? But this was used as a basis to organize a massive culture shift , and you can bet this impacted the game design decisions as well (which are usually made specifically by game designers btw, not developers)

I wouldn't blame game design decisions on developers as they are a totally different group of people. would you consider artists developers because they contribute to the creativity of a game?
I think it does a disservice both to software developers and game designers when we conflate development with design. they're two different fields completely even if they both contribute to a game being made. it gets murkier at smaller companies when they're the same person, but these big games discussed in the video are made by huge companies with specialized roles.

One of the things I love most about gaming is getting to be something I'm not. Super Mario Bros. is a classic, and it never would have been if only plumbers played it. I don't need to look like a character to relate to them. Just the other day I watched Family Matters for the 1st time since I was a kid, and to my shock I saw so much of my personality in Steve Urkel of all people. I now strongly suspect that Urkel had a profound impact on me, helping to shape me into who I am today, but I am not black or even male. None of that stuff matters. It's all about who the character is, not what they look like.

I used to work for a big developer of a very famous AAA game and I can tell you that the Studio heads were totally afraid of their employees. 3 major things happened I think to cause this. The introduction of aggressive DEI and zero tolerance harrassment polices, a shift to give employees more of a voice, and the addition of Diversity officers and departments. This led to the leaders relenting to any ridiculous idea or criticism of game content that ultimately harmed the product. The diversity team, and I'm not making this up, had as part of their initiatives a system whereby they could look at any content going in the game - from character models to sound effects - to make sure they couldn't offend anyone. I remember on one occasion an employee of color in a very low status position finding fault with one line of dialog that presented a black character in a dubious light and boom the next day the line was cut and we had to rerecord the line costing hundreds of thousands of dollars - actor, new facial capture, editing, etc. But the line was actually really cool and gave the character more depth. But no it had to go because it made the black guy look bad. There was also pressure at the Publisher level to become more woke and hiring writers to reflect this. It was a ww2 game and yet there was constantly directives from on high asking us to find ways to have women and people of color in the story. To force that in rather than just telling interesting stories. The average dev in the trenches was most likely not down with this but afraid to put their heads above the parapet for fear of being terminated. I could write pages about this.
This is actually terrifying. What is even happening to the world? Can this continue like this? Is it a good business model to have or how do you think it will effect the industry in the next 10-20-30 years?
Diversity Officers sound like dictators and thought police to me. This kind of stuff makes me think the only solution is developers are gonna have to go independent for the next decade or so in order to make the titles they want and get away from such insanity. It'll be a struggle but sometimes it's better to just start over if it means you don't have to be involved with a cult.

I totally agree. After i played the demo of harvestella, I was completely done with modern games. They couldn't even make the male character look male. There was no difference with non binary and male! So I'm on board. Retro games were also the time where games were games and movies accompanied by gameplay like more modern games are becoming.
I'm a 56 year old female who as been playing video games since Pong. So I think I have a right as an elder of the genre to say that most new games suck and I replay all the great oldies with gratitude and glee. Days Gone is the last game I purchased recently that was worth playing and replaying again and again..good taste girl! I played the Atari a little but my first real gaming days started with Wolfenstein on a Windows 3.1 computer that I had to manually load the autoexec.bat on to free up enough memory to get the game to run. Console gaming ruined gaming.

Days gone was an amazing game with a post apocalyptic world. The world is similar to many others but does have its own unique spin on a few aspects. Specifically the focus on biker gang survivor groups. I loved the horde and trap focus on a few the personal story. I did a 100 percent completion

In the original edition of that Spiderman game, the flags were American - they made them pride flags for the remake - the mod just put them back how they originally appeared. Not only that, all they did to create the mod was copy some code from the Middle Eastern version of the remake. There's some pretty Orwellian connotations to all of that.

The original Sam Raimi Spiderman film conveniently released right after 9/11 and people rallied around him as a sort of patriotic symbol at a time where everyone felt like they needed a hero which likely played into the movie/franchise's success. Likely not the original intention of Raimi and everyone involved in making the film, that was what became the case after the fact, but it is comparable to how Spiderman is still being used to push narratives now.

Another game I noticed that has gone woke is Assassin's Creed. I remember the old games would have a disclaimer saying how the game was worked by people from different religious beliefs and multicultural. Now they added sexual orientations and "gender identities".
Assassins Creed 2 and 4 were still my favorites but after those two I completely stopped even bothering with that franchise.

It made me feel very sad for 'normal' gay people (and other minority groups) that have to bear the accusation of being woke when in fact they hate it as much as everyone else. Woke leftism is a cancer even on those it pretends to support - perhaps more so than 'us'.

There two decades ago (and probably way before) in my country there were zero issues when it came to homosexuality and such, basically it was accept people for who they were and it was fine.
Now i can´t even leave the house without seeing some "pride" flags at shopping malls. The people with abnormal preferences being highlighted for how "special and amazing" they are and given special benefits.
This "woke" acceptance movement did not make people more accepting of abnormals, it only made regular people repulsed by them.
Time for an indie revolution. Every AAA studio had to start small, lets give indies our focus and you will find passion and creativity are not only alive, they're thriving in those spheres. Amplify indie devs

This reminds me of siege recently. They’ve added text chat bans if they detect you do anything they don’t like or if you get reported enough times and now they added voice chat bans alongside it. All it did was make people communicate less than before these were added and killed the game. Yes we wanna stop people from being full assholes but at the end of the day, it’s kind of how it works and goes with the territory. Now, communication, which is literally what siege is all about, doesn’t exist anymore.
Days Gone is outstanding. I still play it from time to time. Destroying hordes never gets boring.

It is said Days Gone sold more than any previous game Bend Studio ever made combined. Unless, Sony finally releases the actual sales tally, I think a sequel was cancelled only because of Sony's change in it's executive makeup. An important executive at Sony (Shawn Layden) was a big supporter for the Days Gone project. Him leaving doomed the chances of a sequel.
They cancelled the Days Gone sequel to focus on TLOU remaster I read in an article a while back.
Working in a software development company, I can tell that developers are the last people that can decide about anything they implement.
Decisions like that are made by Product Managers, Project Managers, Marketing Managers or just the C-Level. And you are facing these kind of decisions in every software development company. Not just games.
When starting the argument about the reasoning, you usually get responses like 'The product is selling anyways', 'It does not impact the functionality' or 'We need to catch up with competition'.
Truth behind it is usually that these decisions are pushed by upper management people that are detached from the user base. Yes, they expect no change in sales. But they expect better partnership deals and more visibility. And that is why they prefer micro management decisions over user base driven decisions.
They expect Blackrock money for the improved ESG scores.

In the end, the user base is responsible for all this. If they don't like that, then they must refuse do pay for and play it. And if they don't pay for and play it, the management either produces a game nobody plays and get bankrupt or they change their product. But as long as the money flows, they will continue, and money flows either due to players paying or by players playing and other interested parties paying to influence players. So don't p(l)ay. Period.

I don't think the developers are out of touch, I think what we are seeing is developers actually having contempt for their audience. Essentially using popular franchises and platforms to spread their own messaging in a kind of modern preaching tactic. They want their customers money and transactional is how they want the relationship to remain.
If you are watching this more then likely your a fellow gamer.. We love to do this. We work hard we provide for our family and we deserve to enjoy something to get away for a few hours. We don’t care about race,gender,sexual preference.. we all have one thing in common we are gamers. We will not allow them to ruin that for us.. 🤘🏼🇺🇸 Much love everyone.

Regarding the Spiderman PC flag replacement mod, it doesn't actually replace anything. The mod changes the localization from US to RUS. Meaning that a Russian version of the game is more American than the American one.
Nexusmod going woke for no reason other than clout chasing.
There are American flags in the original game as well. There's only one building with pride flags and so far as I recall it's two of the standard rainbow type no gay characters (that I can remember), no gay costumes, no race swapping or anything else. Insomniac themselves included it because one of there staff noticed this in real life in New York City and it was included likely for representation over anything else but ultimately was that small way to try dodging hate and now both sides hate them because the game wasn't woke enough and gamers think it's too woke for including a couple pride flags in one place in the game.
Of course Insomniac Games had a very woke moment (you can as far as I know still find it on their channel here on YT) where Ted Price the CEO and Founder of the studio made a video "dunking" on then President Trump's Middle East travel ban. They got a bit of flak for that (also from me) in the comments section as well as from fans elsewhere telling Ted that he clearly didn't know what he was talking about citing the actual restrictions.
Their games so far have stayed away from being "woke" in my personal opinion, but I'm personally worried that they could go woke in the future due to past virtue-signaling. I don't remember them getting a ton of flak for their women's day video which read like a "work for us" advert next to the tone-deaf travel ban video.
It would be really bad if they made their next game "Marvel's Wolverine" woke.

I think it should be a feature right in character creation along with other common selections of personal traits and preferences to choose your gender and sexual orientation, a simple checkbox to enable or remove dialog lines and scenes that associate the character to a certain movement. If they want to go down the woke road its Okkkk but give the rest of us a choice. Baldur´s Gate 3 for instance is a great game but gets kind of strange at times when all male characters start making moves at you despite the fact I'm playing a straight character already engaged in a relation with a female partner. I wish in character creation there was an option to check so this sort of dialog could be remove from my play.
