Very good question and no offence taken. Rather than seeing personality traits as being strictly male or female correlated, it’s better thought of as masculine and feminine correlated. Because some men have more of a feminine temperament and visa versa, it means they will often resonate more with the other sex in how they think and act. Of course, generally speaking it will be the other way round but since personality is a spectrum and follows a normal distribution, it’s perfectly reasonable that you will have very assertive and dominant women and very gentle and timid men for example. The thing to notice with normal distributions is that most of the extreme stats are found in the extremes. For example, the most aggressive people are nearly all men and the most agreeable people are nearly all women. You see a lot more variation in the middle
