Lindsey you amaze me with all of the wonderful ideas that you come up with to help us save money. Thank you.
I've done this with Tombow's Multi Glue also and they do work beautifully for holding embellishments that are metal and heavier, and paper items as well. I need to make some more and I love how you store them. I hadn't thought of that, so keeping them in card container..baseball card plastic boxes, I mean, and stuck to the cheap sleeves for ATCs or baseball cards. Your way is much better. Thanks for sharing this :)
I love this product...been using it for years...
I like that I can make any glue dots size...especially little tiny glue dost for tiny items
Well done Lindsay
I've used the Tack It Over for years on my unmounted stamps. Now I'm looking forward to making my own glue dots. I love the fact that I can make them any size I need. Thanks so much Lindsay. :)
THANK-YOU HEAPS! And I love how you are so quick to the point and so concise-awesome tutorial ♥️♥️♥️
I know that several crafters use the same glue for making their old circuit pads like new. There is a video on this as well but I never thought of this. What a great idea, less expensive too
Anita Falcone I use quilters basting spray):
Brilliant Lindsay! Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea. It would be great for Frugal Friday!
I have been buying foam glue tabs, but no more! This is perfect and allows me to create the size I want. Thank you for a quick and to-the-point video. :)
I love Alene's glue and refuse to buy glue dots!!! They are not sticky enough for that price….but now I will never have to worry about the size. For some stupid reason I never went big. Well no more.. I am letting my size loose. Thanks Lindsay!!! :)
GREAT tip!!!!!! Leaves me more money for presents this Christmas. Thanks a bunch
My purse is thanking you for this #DIY #gluedots tutorial!!!
This is awesome!!! Can't wait to buy this stuff and start making my own dots...thanks for all you teach us!!!
Love, love, love your videos, your ideas, and your fun personality!!!
I bought some of the "Tack-it" and it works well. I did have a small accident with a book and the dried glue dots, but no damage and great fun? trying to get the dots off and find something to re-stick them too since they wont go back on the non-stick paper.
Thank you for answering me!! So helpful & economical!! Appreciate you & your vast knowledge!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful cost saving tutorial!
Just saw this! What a fantastic idea!! TYFS :-)
Thumbs up! Great tip, Lindsay and I have this bottle in my stash!
~Jeanne
I am SO enjoying your tutorials! You share EVERYTHING, you seem to be having fun, your personality is so bubbly and your words are always encouraging. I'm not very artistic, but you make it seem possable...lol. PS. Is there anything you can not do?
Awesome tip. Im going to try it. Its great for embellishments when you give to others. Tfs Shirlene
Thank you so much!...AG
I have done this for years to. I also use it for decals for sweaters and shirts that I don't want to sew on. HUG, BJL
I also use this product watered down to restick my matt's for my Cricut.
how does that work without everything sticky permanently? like paper, etc since it is glue? how do you do it? thanks
I just add enough water to make a thin consistency maybe 3 or 4 to one ratio then I take a sponge brush and brush it on wait a couple of hours till it dries to a tacky feel to it. I found it on you tube years ago try googling it "How to restick your Cricut Mats". It works wonderfully. Another product that works well is Ziz 2 to one in the large applicator bottle I found at Michaels. Because it is temporary bond if you let it dry after application. My daughter told me about the Zig.
Sandy Sarasin thanks Sandy!! :)
Sandy Sarasin are you serious bc I just got my cricut and hear so many talking about what to do to restick the stickiness. I said to use a heat gun but this sounds awesome
I did a tutorial maybe 2 years ago on using Tack it Over and Over on fabric flowers as an alternative for a pin back. Honestly the flowers are hanging on my mirror to this day...doesn't matter that they are Halloween colors does it? In fact I think one has a felt bat.... hmmmmm maybe time to take those down. Anyhoooo, I never thought of making a faux Gluber with Tack It Over and Over- I just spread it on the back after I made the flowers- I guess I didn't use it at all on a rolled rose at all-great idea.
Great tip. I think I might have some Tac It Over somewhere around here that I bought after watching your video about your rubber stamps. For once, I will actually have the supplies on hand. Lol!
I still need to try the glue dots but I think I need a new bottle mine are really old. It still works good on stamps thou. Thank you for the reminder Lindsay!
Genius! Your brain thinks of so many things mine does not. Thank you for sharing your genius!
Well! What a great tip. Thank you Lindsay.
Great tip! Thank you Lindsay.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Super tip and yes I will plan to use this when creating. Hugs, susan
I just happen to have some of that Tack it over and over glue :) TFS~ Pat
Very useful tip. Thank you for sharing. Mable
Too cool, put it in Facebook and Pinterest.
Thanks
Cool!
Will you make another painting tutorial or Christmas craft video (preferably painting tutorial)
Kate Rothfuss of course I will! Stay tuned and until them I have 46 Christmas craft and painting videos here: ruclips.net/p/PLNxvOHHWCjFgSku15sm4Y5Sshm_2Y8n2B that will give you a start on cards and crafts!
Hey thanks for always posting awesome content 💐. I'd like to know if there's a way to make these removable. I want to use them to hold my nails tips on a stand for painting before I wear them.
Great idea! Thanks!
Hi again Lindsay...
This is a super fun tip ~~ thank you so much for sharing...
You can also use a foam sponge brush ~~ and brush the Aleene's Tac it over and over glue on your cricut mat to make it sticky again ~~ only put some washi tape or painters tape all around the edges so that you don't get glue on them...the edges need to be clean to go thru the machine...
Do you have any crafting ideas on what to do with the empty toy pods from vending machines...
Thank you so much for all your fun ideas...
Have a fun Turkey Day and holiday season...
Surie
KINDERKRAFTS how about making dry snow globe ornaments with them?
They are not clear ~~ they are milky white but not opaque ~~ so that would not work...
Thank you anyways...
What is Tack It? What kind of glue? Just looking for the equivalent in Australia. Thanks :-) Great tips
organisedlifestyle it is a glue that dries sticky.
Good stuff!! I will definitely try this ;). TFS
When making the glue dots, could I use wax paper to apply the glue to and for storage? Thanks Lindsay!
JensCreationStation yes!
Are they nice and high Tack as well as removable? Would totally like to do this if they stick really well and are removable!
They are very high tack, as for removable it would depend on the surface.
Do you have a tutorial on these flower you showed? Will these be permanent with paper?
Baby Bear Creates yes and yes, video here: ruclips.net/video/ZPgHQ2r8Ggc/видео.html
Thank You!
Who the heck gave this video a thumbs down?!! For what? Some people........Urgh.
In Australia I have seen it in Spotlight but not regularly.. You could prob. order it from Craft online or similar.
Doesn't Tack It Over become a repositionable glue when dry? As such I have to ask how well a dry glue dot would work as a permanent adhesive (and why it works).
Jean M not on paper to paper and it sticks my ribbon down very well. It is always sticky, like a sticker but once you stick it it stays stuck. You can paint it on the back of rubber stamps and then use them on acrylic mounts and the glue will stay on the stamp but other than that I would not call it re-positional, just sticky when dry until you bond it with something.
great idea
Thank you!!
could I use this for balloons?
Hi, how long will these stay sticky and usable for please?
I still have some left, and they are still sticky. If you store them in a dust free environment, they should last a long time. Mine are in a cool basement, so things may differ in a hot dry climate.
Do you know if these glue dots give a permanent bond for paper to paper? These would be a lifesaver for my card making if they did.
They should work good but once you have the paper together I'm not sure you will get it apart without tearing. Only way to find out is to try.
Stephanie Dowding These guys stick, they are permanent paper to paper, the only time I had issue was on acrylic (an acrylic page mini book but that is good because when i use it on my stamps to go on acrylic blocks the stamps will come off with the sticky on them:)
Would setting out a large blob to dry, then cutting it as if I was cutting brownies in a pan, work for making small squares that functioned as dots? I have the Aileene's but thought I'd ask before I made a bunch of individual dots.
angelhelp If you want to try that I would let the blog dry and cover with another piece of wax paper and cut them into squares that way using scissors, otherwise the adhesive would get completely stuck you your knife.
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich
Sounds great! Thanks :)
Would a thin coat on the back of paper work to make Washi tape? I have never seen the Tack Over & Over before.
LMDBeadingandMore sure but it will be sticker than washi I think...I wonder if you could thin it with water? I bet you can because I have washed it out of my brushes before.
Good info... Thanks :)
Thanks!!
Hi Lindsay.. I wanted to ask.. does it have to be that glue or can it be any white glue? Thank's for all your helpful videos and Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Southern Angel it is not a white glue, it is a glue that remains sticky after it tries. I think Scrappy Glue by Rubber Cafe also will work. If anyone knows of another glue like this leave a comment:)
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich
Would PVA glue work? I don't think we have the brands you mention in the UK.
muskndusk no, PVA will not work...hmmm, I'm not sure what brands you have over there, any UK viewers know what your equivalent is?
I have many of the Aleenes Tacky Glues but not the one that says Tack it over and over. Does it matter?
Southern Angel yes, this formula dries to a sticky adhesive.
is that glue a rubber cement kind of glue? i Can t fibd that brand in my city( in the Netherlands/Holland, Europe)
+Janice James - Hi Janice! You can do the same thing with silicone glue. Praxis has Bison Silicone. What part of NL do you live? We are in the Groningen area. I would also be curious if Bison Kit from Pipoos would be a silicone type of glue ... I have NOT tried it, though.
What other type of glue can you use as I'm in England and American glue in craft stores can get quite pricy
amy vallins I think scrappy glue will work too, maybe you have a UK alternative, anyone?
Can color or dyes be added to the bottle before making the dots? If so what kind?
4riversgd they are used as sticky dots and will be hidden when used, if you want to make little drop embellishments try this (it is an old video so please excuse everything LOL) ruclips.net/video/C1crQH8qITw/видео.html
Great, thank you so much..Very good channel :-)
As I live in the uk can I use pva wood glue to make glue dots
No, it needs to be the kind of glue that dries sticky.
I have a couple of bottles of Tack It Over and Over. I have never been able to find it at Joann's or any of the other stores. I had the local scrap book store special order it for me a couple of years ago to resurface my cricut mats. I think every craft room needs at least one bottle. Hugs
I've had trouble finding it, too :-(. Finally found it on Amazon.
Can you use the dots iñ diamond painting
Ok I know I am being dumb right now--but would you tell exactly what you do with these glue dots?
lucinda monger You use them just like store bought glue dots, to stick embellishments to cards, scrapbook pages and crafts. They are a quick grab adhesive stick-um:)
What paper are you making them on, please.
I save the backing paper from contact paper and it worked great.
I just went to Joanns and they have the 4oz bottle on sale for 1.99 each and 695 shipping plus tax. On line only
Kim Miller that is where I got mine but I wait for a free shipping deal or until I have enough to order to get free shipping:)
Do we have to use tack it glue I don't live in america so just wondering
Maryam Hussain there are probably other glues in your country that will work, Scrappy Glue is one brand. Sometimes it is called "re-positional glue" or "sticker glue"
Oh thank you! And also I love your videos they are so helpful and creative and unique!☺
Can you use Aleene's Tacky Glue?
Sarah_Rocks68 no, it has to be a glue that dries sticky.
Oh okay thanks
Hi Lindsay! I did this but even my small dots are taking D A Y S to dry completely. Is this normal?
~Ang
Work Reports no, not normal but they will be clear and sticky when they are done.
What is the paper you are using
Contact paper backing
Although I love all your tips, I sure miss your watercolor tutorials. :(((
Debbye Hicks I have more planned, busy week, I have 70+ here in case you missed any: ruclips.net/p/PLNxvOHHWCjFjo3Eqp1qzXrReoFw014x65
Yes, thank you Lindsay..I've tried each of them...I just love to watch your videos and try to work along with you. That's okay, I know you have other things to tape. All my kids are grown, and have no grandchildren yet, so I just enjoyed the watercolor portion. No matter, I know you'll get to it when you can. Happy Thanksgiving.
Debbye Hicks be careful what you wish for, I have a 50 minute watercolor tutorial uploading now LOL!
Awesome!!!! lol
I really do appreciate all that you do Lindsay. You are so busy with your family and it's amazing that you are able to keep all of us in the loop. ((HUGS))
Thanks
