  • Trying my best to show you guys how to change the front speakers on a 2007 Honda Accord. I thought it might be a little complicated for some people so i thought I'd make a video. Leave a like if you thought the video was helpful, and hopefully I will make more videos.

I have been searching everywhere for a demo on how to replace the front speakers on a 2006 Honda Accord. Your door panel looks similar to mine. Nice job!

Nice! Back in 06 when we bought are new EX V6 with nav the first thing I did after one week was replace all the speakers. Rear 6x9's with alpine and the font with infinity coaxial with the built in frequency button. Normally I leave my cars all stock, but the honda speakers, as you can see in this video, were so flimsy and thin, that the audio hurt my ears. Now the radio sounds smooth. Also, I took the dash speakers apart, and put some black cloth over the tweeters to muffle them a bit.

Isn't there a way to install component speakers and use the original tweeter location? I'm currently pondering whether that's doable

@@StanislavGeorgiev-Savo - Yes. Component speakers should have been used for this, unless you have ears on your ankles. It should be woofers (not coaxial type) in the bottom of the door and tweeters up in the top by the mirror in the "sail" triangle.

I’ve found it to be easier to just get smaller speakers like 41/2’s. That way, the four screw holes fit perfectly inside of the OEM speaker housing so you can reuse it easier.

2:08 After that, pop skin clips, and turn handle or the door skin sideways and slide the attached handle through hole in the door skin without unscrewing/removing the handle. ;)

Is it fine if you were only able to fit 2 screws in the adapter?

To get the factory speaker removed from it's cage, so that I could reuse the cage, I used a rotary tool with a drywall bit. The bit has a pilot tip that helps to keep you from gouging or marring the plastic. Best advice I can give on using the tool... ruclips.net/video/xuRsOr-3aJs/видео.html

I had upgraded similar 7th Gen Accord EX V6 years ago with a pair of Eclipse SE6900 and a pair of Eclipse SE6500. In this generation Accord, the stock speakers are wimpy but the amp is fairly decent, so upgrading the speakers make the most sense. The SE6900 in the rear deck hits much harder than the OEM and generate enough bass without the need for an 8" subwoofer. The newer generation (8+) Accords are stuck with 6.5" speakers in the back so you really need to add the 8" powered sub to get bass in the car. However, I would NOT try to reuse the crappy mount on the front speakers for the new speakers. Crutchfield has the Scosche SASCN656 brackets that you could get from them to mount the new speakers without cutting out the old plastic that are probably disintegrated anyway. You can mount the new speakers securely onto the new bracket with 3 screws and then mount it onto the door after connecting the speaker wire harness using the harness adapters. This set up will last a lot longer because the mount is designed to have speakers added to it rather than trying to reuse the sucky baskets from Honda. This way, you can also put the old speakers back to the car when you sell it and keep the upgrade speakers for your next car. Plus, it is way too much work to try to cut the thing off and try to fit the new speakers onto the old bracket, only to save a few bucks!

These Eclipse speakers are listed as discontinued on Crutchfield's site. Any reason why? Do you still recommend them?

did u use threadlock to keep those screws in the speaker assembly? i feel like the would vibrate out pretty easily without some sort of extra way to hold them in, especially with loud music blasting all the time. are they staying in?

Idk the size of the speakers he used but for simplicity, of can just get an aftermarket 6.5inch front door speaker. Same size as the OEM just you know, better because it’s no longer stock

FYI, component speakers should have been used, not coaxial. The car is built for tweeters and woofers to be installed separately and a tweeter down by your foot is not really an ideal location... especially when it's aimed sideways, not diagonal and upward at your ears.

Almost looks like you could screw it into the door itself with metal screws once the plastic is in place
