    It will probably take around 1.5 hours. Some notes: If I were to do it over, I would skip the plastic adapters - they're just not necessary. You can just as easily drill and screw the speakers directly onto the metal door panel. I didn't see any benefit to them, so save yourself the $10-$15. If anything, they made it harder because of a couple of complications with them. You could get by without the orange pry tool if you find something else to pry with and are careful. I was doing the other speakers and also installing an Ipod/aux adapter in the radio, so I went ahead and got it and it was helpful. The speakers in the front door are 5 1/4" and are somewhat difficult to get to. You have to take apart a lot of the door. The back speakers are 6x9 and are much simpler to install. You can just pop off the trim and get directly to them. The tweeters in the dash are more complicated and I wouldn't recommend changing them. I replaced mine and I didn't notice any difference in sound quality. I'd say the best bang for your buck are the rear speakers, which are also the easiest to replace. I used JBL GT6-69 6x9's in the back and I would highly recommend them for quality and value.

    At around time 6:40 you can avoid breaking those clips if you pop out the top and then JUST LIFT THE SPEAKER UP. This will allow you to get the speaker out without breaking those clip things. FYI

    This video seems incomplete. Where's the remainder that shows your installation experience and tips?

    I ended up obliterating the inner lock cable assembly....well not obliterated, but it's held on by a piece of plastic (you said yours was rubber) that's only 2mm thick. Some epoxy took care of that.
    Those front speakers though, the depth is not a huge problem but the hole to go in is so tiny I ended up sticking my replacement speakers into the grill hole of the door panel, which fit perfectly snug.
    So yeah, this and the issues pulling out the radio makes this car the hardest one I've ever worked on just to do a stereo install...

    Thanks. This was helpful but I found on my 2003 Honda Accord Coupe, a couple of the screws holding the door panel were located in a different place. While the two screws behind the plate behind the door latch were there, the other two screws are located underneath the door pull handle.
    After those were removed, and using some prying tools, the panel snapped off in the mentioned areas and lifted straight up. I didn't even need to disconnect the actuator or control wires; I just rotated the panel a quarter turn. The passenger door rested easily on the ground and using a clamping tool, I was able to secure the driver's side door panel to the top of the door frame (once the window was rolled down.)
    BTW, Honda speaker wire harnesses from Crutchfield were a must! So easy; no wires to cut/splice/solder.
    Otherwise, thanks.

    See the links in the description for some of the items I used.
    Unless something is shot, I'd only recommend replacing the rear speakers and installing an Iphone/Aux adapter, and here's why: I hate to say it but I haven't noticed any difference in sound quality from the stock front door speakers, besides possibly more bass. I definitely would not recommend replacing the dash tweeters - if anything they sound worse than the stock. The rear speakers (the JBL 6x9s) sound fantastic and are easy to replace, unlike the other speakers. The quality and amount of sound that comes from them is so much more than the 5 1/4's in the front. The Iphone/Aux adapter was also easy to install (takes under an hour) and works great.

    Thanks very much for the video. Very helpful. my front speakers are shot and I'm going to replace them without the plastic adapters. Do you know what size and type of screws I should use?? Are they the same as the ones used on the rear speakers 5x16?

    any tips on wiring the tweets?

    • @michaelsalvo8882
      @michaelsalvo8882  10 лет назад

      The ones I got came with little capacitors, which it is apparently very important to use or they will blow out. The stock tweeters have it attached to the tweeter. I wired them according to the instructions using butt crimp connectors, then connected the ends of the wires with wire nuts. Not elegant but it's all hidden and secure. But again, don't replace the tweeters unless you have to. Very little sound comes out of mine, and they're the same or worse than the stock.

      they definitely are. I went to replace one of mine with 5.25" the volume power compared to the other was totally different.

    • @Salaar451
      @Salaar451 4 года назад

      You can put 5.25” in the fronts but stock oem are 6.5. So either size will work in the fronts

    Without the brackets the speakers are too deep for the door, we could not get alpine type r components in the door to fit

    FAIL!!! You remove the door panel and the speaker is already removed! Your video is to show how to replace the speakers! The Accord speakers do not have screws attaching them to the door. Your video is pointless!
