While Rogue One is still doing well at the box office, all eyes are now on the next chapter in the Star Wars Saga - Episode 8. We still don’t have any concrete details or even a title, but thanks to USA Today, we do have some new details about the relationship we’ll see between Luke and Rey. Speaking with the outlet for their big 2017 preview, writer/director Rian Johnson confirmed the movie would indeed pick up right where The Force Awakens left off while also offering up some new specifics about their relationship we’ll see in the movie.
Digital media company Onion, Inc. (responsible for both The Onion and Clickhole) yesterday announced a partnership with production company Serious Business to create three films over two years for Lionsgate. The in-house film and TV development arm at the Onion will team with the executive producers on Comedy Central’s late-night show, At Midnight with Chris Hardwick, to develop the three films for Lionsgate to distribute, pulling from existing Onion IP along with some original ideas mined from their creative community.

A new “not safe for work” trailer was released for Paramount Pictures’ Baywatch yesterday featuring all new footage and some carefully placed F-bombs reminding fans that this is, indeed, an R-rated comedy. Seth Gordon’s adaptation goes for a comedic skewering of the hit 90’s TV series about sexy lifeguards, and features Dwayne Johnson as Mitch Buchannon and Zac Efron co-starring as Matt Brody. The movie opens in theatres on May 26th this summer.
Disney has given us another look at Beauty and the Beast with a brand-new TV spot entitled “Belle” that aired during the Golden Globes. The short musical spot features Emma Watson’s Belle singing a short snippet of the song intercut with all new footage from the movie. Along with the tv spot comes a new poster from Disney as well, featuring the full cast in their human forms before the inevitable curse transforms them into talking household items. Beauty and the Beast is set for release on March 17th.
As we prepare for three films coming out in 2017 inside the MCU with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok, fans are already looking ahead to the conclusion of the Infinity Stone plot with 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. The biggest question so far is exactly who will be showing up to lend a hand against Big Baddie Thanos and now we have confirmation of at least one: Gamora played by Zoe Saldana.

My favorite movie is The Avengers. My 2nd favorite movie is The Empire Strikes Back. Personally, I like the MCU more than the Star Wars Universe. So yeah.

Not only was the beginning of the episode cut off (starting the middle of Schnepp's intro), but it also jumped from Ellis talking about Thanos being in Thor Ragnarok to the middle of the crew answering a Twitter question. Was this a problem stemming from the upload, or was it during the recording/streaming?
How I want Episode VIII to begin:
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."
Opening Crawl... detailing the events of the past year or two.
Pans down into space above the planet of Ahch-To before zooming straight down... at night to Rey, asleep, dreaming of that final scene of Episode VII, with a bit more added to it, before being woken by something..
That way we get the usual Star Wars beginning, a bit of a jump for storyline purposes, and also get to pick right back up from Episode VII in a different way for a saga movie. Ticks all boxes, keeps all happy.
How 'bout this:
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."
Opening crawl focusing on what Luke has been doing, and some details of Snoke's background and interest in him. This overlaps some of the events in Force Awakens, but from Snoke and Luke's perspective.
Then we see space, and pan down to a Star Destroyer. Chasing an X-Wing. With Luke in it! Small action sequence, he gets away and sets course for Ahch-To.
Scene with him communing with Yoda and Obi-Wan giving him some advice about Rey, on top of a cliff, as he turns round to see Rey handing him his fathers lightsaber.
This way, we get a meaningful opening crawl that gives us exposition on Luke and Snoke, a space opening, Luke in an X-Wing, and the Force Awakens end scene from Luke's perspective.
Rey should teach Luke how to twerk
Rey dresses like Kenobi, She talks like Kenobi, Kenobi talks directly to her in the force vision. Seems kind of obvious to me, she is a Kenobi. And I'd wager that is exactly what Daisy is talking about.
His voice is barely audible, unless you watch the scene several times on RUclips.
Farid Damasio And even then, you can't tell it's his voice. Honestly, if I hadn't read about it before hand, I never would have known that was Ewan McGregor's voice.
I'm not sold on the grandaughter theory yet but I am in favor of a niece or grand niece. As many might recall even from Gorge Lucas's first drafts of Star Wars and later on in other books Ben Kenobi did have a brother. But the brother did not have any force sensitivity. I'm fine with Rey being a niece or grand niece ;)
I want a funny line where Luke says Why are you here i dont want the light saber of death.
Campea always needs to be the last word. He talks so much on the front end that no one else really has much to add when giving their takes.
I think Ben Affleck would agree that everyone should just chill the f out.
Was surprised Ellis didn't mention the fact that him and Kristian have seen Live by Night, and found it so-so.
I personally think Thanos in Thor needs his own Darth Vader Rogue One scene. This will have comic book fans geeking out and get none comic book fans, who are still uncertain about what thanos can do, excited for infinity war
BvS definitely deserves to be Razzie nominated. As well as Suicide Squad.
BvS IS THE WORST MOVIE OF 2016! I'm not saying that because I'm anti-DC but the most iconic superheroes of all time DESERVE a better movie.

So the avengers: infinity war coverage that the tab bit implied wasn't present in my viewing ... and it cut out half way through Ellis' answer to the Thanos question ... Same for everyone else or??
"Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" - a great (OVERLOOKED) spoof of the last 10... 11 years.
I just want another, and possibly a better sequence, with Po. I love Po. Like I want him to really show off his talent with a more detailed 5 minute scene - make it like a quicksilver scene where afterwards everyone just remembers *that* scene.
Like I'd have a slow rotating camera shot (one take) where Pos communicating to his team during an uphill battle; we'd get voices of his team freaking out whilst the camera goes from Po, trying to calm everyone down, and rotates showing his view of rapid chaos out of all the windows.
I'd love to see/feel what it's like during a space battle where we just stick to one xwing. Those things go damn fast in a swarm of chaos - how intense would it be to be one of those pilots?!

I want them to build the lore about how Jedis are trained! Show Rey attuning to her crystal and having to find one in a temple. Come onnnnnn!
episode 8 is going to start off normally than cut to outer space and the Millennium falcon making its approach to the planet luke is on
Still calling it that Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin. Would explain her saber skills, her piloting skills, and her mechanical skills. Young Anakin was the same. Rey will ask Luke if he is her father. He will respond with a "no, you are my father". This will be the twist star wars needs. It will kinda be like Avatar the last airbender.
While I like that idea, I think that would throw off a lot of fans. There has to be an extremely good reason for Anakin to incarnate himself again. And that reason alone needs some major fleshing out in the film.
Not sold on this idea at all. I've read that speculation on the net as well, but if that's the way they go, it'll feel really lazy. "OOH...the Chosen One is BACK!" No thanks. The Chosen One came and went, let's see the fallout. Although predictable, the most logical storyline is Snoke being Darth Plagueis. It's the only way you have a threat big enough to challenge a Jedi Master steeped in the Force for 30 plus years. Rey could easily be Luke's daughter just without him knowing, or Obi Wan's (or Palpatine's) granddaughter. Predictable, logical, yes, but linear and could make for a great "Skywalker" saga film. Just my $0.02 though. I know others feel differently.
She got her saber skills from Kylo during their Force bond just moments before she ended the fight. That moment is the reason SHE was the one to end the fight. It's also a reflection of the scene prior when she got out of her cell using the mind techniques she also picked up from Kylo. How? Because the Force is with her, and she did get most of her skill set directly from Kylo who is demonstrated as a powerful Force user from the first scene in the film.
The Force awakens within Rey because of Kylo and their connection is going to be the center of this new trilogy.
What about her near instant piloting skills?
Her force awoke when she touched Luke's lightsaber/Anakin's lightsaber. That happened before she got kidnapped by Kylo.
They had some kind of connection before the movie. Kylo was/is obsessed with "the girl". You know who else he is obsessed with? Grandpa Darth Vader aka Anakin.
Whatever her origin is, we can hopefully agree it will awesome :P
Production wise this was a mess today.

The entire bullshit answer for no opening crawl in Rogue One was to differentiate it from the episodic films. If they cut or even delay the opening crawl for Episode VIII I'm going to flip out in the theater!

After the crawl it'll probably show Hux and Kylo's ship flying through space, we'll get a 5 minute scene explaining where they're off to. Then after that we'll cut to Luke and Rey. As for the crawl I have no idea what it's going to say
BvS was barely ok when I watched it the first time. I just didn't really like it but I think the idea of BvS had me trying to justify why it was better than it was. THEN I watched it again the other night for the first time since I saw it in theatres and realized I think it was absolutely freaking horrible. It really is terrible and given the source material they had to work with it's gotta be one of the most disappointing movies of all time. As for Ben Affleck he was awesome as Batman. Hated the way Luthor was portrayed. Wonder Woman's introduction was the best part of the movie
Hallucination I had a very similar reaction. The first time I saw BvS and Suicide Squad I found them both to be pretty okay, not great but watchable. I then re watched both in the same week, and I found them both to be horrible in my opinion. So many problems.
Hallucination did you watch the Ultimate Cut?? If not I have no response. We don't discuss the Theatrical version dammit lol
The only thing Ultimate Cut does is it adds an another half an hour of bore. Sure it does fix some storylines (which nobody cared about in the first place and they should not be in the movie at all), but there are still quite a few story points (mainly involving Lex) that are not addressed at all and it only expands on Snyder's barbaric interpretation of most of the characters.
I almost fell asleep watching the movie in a theater and, knowing all that I didn't like about the movie and being kind of prepared for it disappointing me again I still almost fell asleep watching the Ultimate Cut later. It is not engaging by any stretch of the imagination and is not relatable at all. Unless you're fanboying over every second you see someone wearing Superman's, Batman's or Wonder Woman's costume, that is.
How does a movie with Batman and Superman AND WONDER WOMAN in it is this bad is beyond me. Oh wait...because you let bad director who did worse movie called Sucker Punch directed this movie, k...that makes sense #FireZackSnyder more than half of the movie is unwatchable, at least I had good laugh watching Fantastic 4 Independence, Transformer, but...Batman v Superman is so bad it's not even funny.
Михаил Затрутин to me the added scenes not only fix and finished the puzzle that was the original version but it also adds more Clark/Superman, makes his annoyance for Batman more clear, paces the movie better, makes Luthers plan seem more sensible, and adds plenty more. But if you thought the original sucked then of course the UC didn't do anything for you. I don't you even gave the UC a fair chance. I thought the theatrical version was good but not great or fantastic. But the UC is fantastic! It's an awesome movie especially after you appreciate the hidden gems and meanings of the movie as a whole. But that's my opinion.
The Golden Globes might be lacking in status, but so should really the Academy Awards. They have so many members that we're bound to get tons of people that vote without seeing all the nominated movies in the category. We even had people admitting that they actually voted for a movie they didn't even see, and if people even admit it the dark number of that isn't likely to be insignificant.

I bet Luke and Rey were father and daughter and at first will have an uneasy relationship. They might have arguments, and disagreements. Then they slowly learn more about each other and their past. Rey might have disagreements on how Luke trains her, and might get a little of anger at him about the challenges he gives her. While on Luke's might go to different ways depending if he knows her. If he knows her, he might be a little worried about her. Like a father figure. This makes Rey to think that he owns her or something like that. Second, if Luke doesn't know her, he might not trust her a bit because he can sense the darkside within her. I also believe Rey might gets drawn to some of the Jedi artifacts in the huts, but Luke might get angry of her because he was also worried that she might fall to the darkside like Ben did. Then, they start to get impressed by their abilities, and soon reveal their feelings and past, and their relationship might slowly become like, family love or something like that. This would also injures Rey mentally a bit if she finds out he was her father, knowing he was the one who left her there on Jakku. This is my most favorite theory of The Last Jedi, cause it creates this depth between Rey and Luke, and even let's us to know Rey more. This might become more in detail and reveals how close Rey was to Luke if he does die in Episode 9. But that's a theory others have to think. Also, I spilled 2 spoilers in it, it might give you an idea in The Last Jedi. So, what do ya think?

Han Solo is the father. She inherits the Malenium Falcon, she can pilot the Malenium Falcon, she can fix the Malenium Falcon, Chewy is sticking around with her and in Legends it was Jason's twin sister Jaina Solo who defeated Jason Solo now known as Ben Solo a.k.a. Kylo Ren. In Force Awakens Kylo and Rey obviously have a duel with Rey coming out on top against an injured Kylo. Daisey Riddley in an interview had said Rey's parents were obvious in The Force Awakens given what a natural she is with the Falcon Han would be the obvious choice as the parent. It can't be Luke due to the conversation she had with Maz Kanada who stated the people she was waiting for aren't coming back that she should look forward to another, Luke Skywalker. It could be that Han and Leia had no intention of going back for Rey as Rey did end up meeting up with them by accident. I think the decision to leave Rey on Jakku was another reason why Leia and Han split up not just the fact that Ben had gone over to the Dark side. They may have left her there to prevent Ben and Snoke from finding her and turning her to the dark side as well or just straight up killing her. It would have been a difficult decision for Han & Leia to leave Rey there which lead them to break off their relationship. I think Leia and Han were expecting her to be in good hands when they dropped her off on Jakku, Rey's situation on the planet may have been unintentional. The flashbacks she had when she touched Luke's lightsaber could have been memories she had forgotten and still doesn't remember, she stated in the movie that she had forgotten what her parents face looked like she may have forgotten quite a bit more like being there when Luke's Padawans were slaughtered by the Knights of Ren. Luke may have wiped her memory clean of those events using the Force.

@Jeremy Jahns, I totally pre-ordered The Force Awakens Luke Day 1. I got the Hot Toy Rey in her Resistance outfit and she's patiently holding out the lightsaber for when they release Luke in the fall. If they do make an all new sculpt for Ep. 8, I'd seriously be tempted in getting that one too.
The best and funniest shows are always with this exact line-up. 5 people might be too many or something but including Harloff with this group more would be great.

The Episode 8 crawl will have plenty to go into about how the new republic is reacting to all the destruction caused by Star Killer base, maybe where Leia is going from here, and then end on a short mention/reminder about how Rey has now located Luke and is wondering why he's just standing there staring at her instead of taking the damn light saber.
If Snoke and Kylo were able to feel 'the awakening', then so should Luke.

The cinema release of BvS deserves nominating for a razzie just for the hack job on the editing, but the extended cut was okay. Suicide Squad would deserve nomination for both cinema and extended cuts.
I like Schnepp but his blaming Photoshop for bad poster design is just stupid. IMO it has more to do with the marketing strategy of cramming everyone into the poster, it could've happened with a drawn poster too (even though it may take longer to create).

That interview where he said it wasn't a set thing was done 6 weeks before the article was published. He is one of the most coy people out there and would never want to be that boy who cried wolf. He wasnt happy about the release date being announced, which is the direct reason he was made an Executive Producer on Justice League. The whole script nonsense is strictly humility. He's a structuralist in every sense of the word and normally writes draft after draft after draft until it's lean, mean, and ready to tell.

EP8 needs to dive into SW lore and GIVE US SOMETHING DIFFERENT. They need to treat the movies like they do the animated series. When I watch TFA, there are moments where I dont feel like I am in a SW movie. Rey, I think *spoiler alert* is Kylo's sister...that's the angle I think they will take is brother/sister!!
What was up with the choppy editing?
Kylo Ren and Rey are brother and sister. Think about it, why did Daisey Riddley say Rey's parents are obvious in episode 7? why is Rey so good at fixing and piloting in the Malenium Falcon? why is Chewy sticking around with Rey? & She now inherits the Malenium Falcon. Seems very Han Solo like to me & in Legends it was Jaina Solo twin sister to Jason Solo now know as Ben Solo in Canon who defeats Jason in a duel. It can't be Luke due to the conversation she had with Maz Kanada who stated the people she was waiting for aren't coming back that she should look forward to another, Luke Skywalker. It could be that Han and Leia had no intention of going back for Rey as Rey did end up meeting up with them by accident. I think the decision to leave Rey on Jakku was another reason why Leia and Han split up not just the fact that Ben had gone over to the Dark side. They may have left her there to prevent Ben and Snoke from finding her and turning her to the dark side as well or just straight up killing her. It would have been a difficult decision for Han & Leia to leave Rey there which lead them to break off their relationship. I think Leia and Han were expecting her to be in good hands when they dropped her off on Jakku, Rey's situation on the planet may have been unintentional. The flashbacks she had when she touched Luke's lightsaber could have been memories she had forgotten and still doesn't remember, she stated in the movie that she had forgotten what her parents face looked like she may have forgotten quite a bit more like being there when Luke's Padawans were slaughtered by the Knights of Ren. Luke may have wiped her memory clean of those events using the Force.

The more footage I see of Beauty and the Beast, the less excited I am to see it. I would much rather see a little creativity, than a simple rehash of the animated version... I already saw that movie!!!
