MAJESTIC and EXUBERANT! YES! HE GOT UP! What a wonderful contrast between the joy of the Resurrection of Jesus and the more contemplative chorale "O Sacred Head Now Wounded"--makes you reflect on the supreme sacrifice and its inevitable conclusion...what we're all headed for--RESURRECTION! Diane Bish's setting just cries out for choreography--swirling flags , colorful streamers and banners, palm branches waving, dancers leaping eveyrwhere--CHRIST IS RISEN! HALLELUJAH!
i have always loved the comforting sound of the pipe organ,it is a wonderful gift from God.And the wonderful composers who write the great music to be played on these wonderful instruments,is also a gift from God,praise His Holy righteous name, for ever and ever.amen.
Diane when I listen I just fall on my knees and worship God. Thank you for helping me to stay in God's Word. I pray God may richly bless you and your family. All Praise, Laud, Honor, and Glory to our Heavenly father who so graciously gives us all gifts including the Gift of your outstanding playing gift.
OUTSTANDING!!! All Praise, Glory, Laud, and Honor to Jesus Christ our Heavenly King! Thank you for posting this. It has uplifted an invalids life - ME. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
DIANE FULLFULLS A UNIQUE NICHE IN THE WORLD OF MUSIC, I ENJOYED WATCHING HER SHOWS ON TBN, HOPE SHE IS DOING WELL...... I'VE BEEN TO THIS CHURCH, QUITE RECOGNIZABLE, MY SISTER GOT MARRIED IN THIS CHURCH !!!
Thanks, merci, muchas gracias @bishfan for uploading this one! Every time I hear this, I have to MOVE! It's a piece to MAKE YOU SHOUT! ALLELUIA--THE LAMB IS ALIVE!! Great way to remember RESURRECTION and ETERNAL VICTORY! HEY! GLORY! :-)
It's really a dreadful shame this beautiful instruement isn't played mroe often. They use the band more than the organ. I remember walking into Clavary at 5 yrs old and just crying thinking of hof how it might be in heaven :)
If my memory serves me correctly Diane didn't dedicate this organ. It was actually dedicated by Dan Miller the former organist at Calvary. I was there the night he did it. The organ was actually designed by a good friend of mine.
She kicks ass!...I caught her while channel surfing awhile back...........I stop on that channel everytime if I see her........Amazing footwork...How do you do that?
Actually, she's not "juggling" with his music, but rather tying in the crucifixion with the resurrection. This was written as a choral anthem that she adapted to organ solo as well, but you should listen to the choral piece. It might tie everything together for you.
@ncguy207 The organ was actually featured in a series of "Dedication" recitals. I happened to be there for a dreadful recital by a world renowned organist that will remain nameless. We knew we were in for a real "treat" when he stopped midway through the Sowerby "Pageant", hopped off the bench and announced "I have on the wrong shoes", disappeared into the greenery and returned to "finish up". We lovingly call this "The Organ that Ate Charlotte" in "The Mary Kay Cathedral".
I wish I could download this song... bishfan, do you have an account for Contre Bombarde? My user name is pipeorganmaster. I think I have seen you on there once or twice.
Beautiful Diane. I have visited this organ , magnificent. Thank you.
What a beautiful organ❤❤❤🙏

My organ teacher always told me playing the organ will help keep the dust from settling in the pipes.

I'm European, and people there usually laugh aubout american organs, I also did, but I have to admit - this organ amazes me!
In her other programs, when the choir sings along with this piece, it's played at about the same speed and they seem to be able to keep up with it.
Very well stated.
@Moraleg1 Christ the Lord is Risen Today, and O Sacred Head Now Wounded

I still think she sounds best on a Ruffatti!
Interesting weave with O Sacred Head

What hymn is this called?
Mgm1234 Christ The Lord is Risen Today
@LieblichGedeckt
Gotta admit I love that filthy solo reed! haha
but its just the 16' added to it which probably makes it so horrid
Yes. Now many have gone to keyboards. To me, keyboards are an insult to pianos and organs.
she is way more talented than i willl ever be, but i don't like what she did with the melody, she made the melody sound like a theme song or something
