You make it looks so fun and EASY!! Thank you so much for sharing your imagination and methods with us all. I have a new grandchild on the way, a new machine and not a lot of experience with quilts. I do have an adorable panel i bought for the new baby’s first handmade quilt from granny, but wasn’t sure what i wanted to do with it.my imagination needed some jump starting on how to ideas. Thanks for the wonderful easy project idea! God bless you , and please keep the videos coming, haha. It is much better than watching the depressing stuff on other channels.
Wahoo! I have been searching and searching for over a week to find a way to make my grandchildren some blankets without batting. You have saved me! Mine will need to be a little larger than a baby quilt, but the finished products will be the same. Perfect for each of them. Thank you so much.
Thanks again Laura. I learn something new with every tutorial of yours that I watch. I especially like your. Detailed tips. Ie the 3 benefits of the flannel sheet underneath, the explanation of the size of border to cut AND what causes the stitch to skip from the adhesive. I have learned so much from your tutorials!! Thanks so much!!! Very cute blanket idea! I am SO going to make this for my new grandson. 😍
You may not see this Laura as this is an older video but this reminded me I would love a video about different sizes of machine needles and what to use for what. How to tell what's already on your machine.
What an absolutely wonderful baby quilt! I am a beginner and I was looking for something quick and easy for a baby shower. Thank you so much. Can't wait to start quilting.
Your videos are just awesome! Thank you for all the hard work you put in on them. You are a great teacher and each one of your videos is chock-full of great tips. I've been sewing for 50 years and still enjoy learning new tips, thank you so much!! Definitely going to get out some of the baby quilt panels I've got stashed and complete them much faster now.
I do NOT like batting in all of my quilts, and Im glad I saw this because I was turning them inside out and having to fight to get turn hole covered even. Now, this was made easy...Thanks
There are non stick needles out there to buy especially for these types of projects. I bought some a while back for appliqued projects. Thank you for your demonstration I love the way you did the corners makes it soooooo easy.
You are one of my favorite quilters!!! I have a very hard time doing the self bindng quilts. But I'll try your method. You really explain things. I'm new to sewing and quilting... Should have paid more attention to grandma I guess. Lol! Thanks for creating these video tutotial!s!!!
Loved this video. This is exactly what I needed to know today. I had the information but needed an experts opinion to confirm I was doing it right! Thanks once again Laura!
Wow! I needed that last week. I made a flannel and cuddle fleece baby quilt. It was slipping everywhere. So I used 220 safety pins to pin it (it wouldn't have dared move after that). By the time I was done fighting it, I was tired so in between each little Batman logo I stitched a little circle that my machine does that actually is for tiny buttons. You know I have spray, and always forget to use it.
I love how you make things seem so very simple. I also love the flannel sheet tip. I was wondering if you have any tips for quilting larger project in not so very big of spaced area to work in?
I love this video, thanks for sharing your tips. I don't have a panel fabric but I have baby bumpers, which I will cut up and add sashing to and I'll have something like a panel. 👍
I like your idea of the flannel, another great hint from you. The quilt is cute and your method could be used for many projects. P.S. I like your blouse.
Hi Laura. I love all you tutorials. I was just given a bunch of panels so this will help me. But, I also like the quilt behind you. What is the pattern called and have you done a tutorial that one? Thanks
Thank you so much for your quick reply. I went to your site and searched until I found the tutorial. I wasn’t sure if you would reply, so thank you very much. You are awesome!
Hi Laura, you already said in a previous tutorial, that you prewash the fabrics n order not to have any surprises. I’m am starting a throw in fleece and Sherpa. I’ve been told that fleece doesn’t need to be prewashed. What is your opinion on this? And what about sherpa? Thanks and have a great evening.m😎🌸
Can I add batting to this baby quilt. My panel had safari animals and I would like to stitch around them so they will puff out and also attach the two pieces of material together.
I love this so much because it makes everything faster! Do you think that I could just do this in a lap size as well? I was thinking of getting a bigger piece of feather fabric for the top and a dark coordinating cuddle for the back and tracing each feather. thanks again for all the videos - they make a world of difference and I'm so glad to have found your channel!!! -Sarah Beth
Hi Laura, I would like to know something about the drawing of the lines around the panels. I noticed that the 1st mark is slightly bigger than the panel. So , when you draw the line for the 2" , do you measure from the panel or from the 1st line that you drew? I'm French-speaking so I hope that I have used the right words and that it's easy for you to understand my question. 😎 Thank you.
Hi Laura. Great video as always. I would like to try to quilt this on my longarm machine after adhering the two layers together. Do you know of anyone who has done this and with what success. Thanks
Did you pre-wash the fabric panel? Just asking since the backing is 100% poly and I am assuming the front panel is 100% cotton. Wondering how it washes up. Not ever done this method. Like the easy of making this up. Good practice for free motion.
Hi Laura. I would love to do a quilt like this for my baby niece but do not have a sewing machine. if I hand stitch, will it be durable enough for frequent washing? thanks!!
I've made a quilt using the baby's clothes. I have six big blocks. The quilt will cover a twin size bed. I dont want to add any batting because the quilt is heavy enough. What do you think about me using the technique you demonstrated even though it is not a panel?
I don't have a sewing machine, so I hand sew everything. I have hand shewn baby dresses, and cloth dolls, but I have never hand sewn a quilt before. I would like to use batting for the quilt I want to make, but I am afraid it will be too frustrating to hand sew batting into a quilt. Do you think this will be an issue, so I shouldn't use batting? Or am I just being paranoid?
You still can. You just do a lot of folding/rolling and turning. I use giant office/paper clips. The kind that have the metal arms that folks back and forth. They come in all different sizes.
Please don't use polyester for baby quilts! It won't circulate air flow and will overheat babies, natural, breathable fibres are the best no matter who it's for :)

Genius! Using flannel to grip the bottom layer... perfect!

yes, it is often called a summer quilt

Thank you
@@SewVeryEasy Wondering about how the quilt square seams feel through Cuddle Fleece; does it 'pad' them well enough to be indiscernible?
Ah. Thank you! My question, too. :)

Batting is perfect to use. Look for a very thin batting and have fun
Muy buen proyecto!!!muchas gracias
Could you please tell me: is the Cuddle Soft fabric color “navy blue?” Thx so very much and have an awesome day!
yes it was :)
SewVeryEasy awe thank you so much for replying! I’m excited to try this. Btw ...your hair is beautiful:)
What a great video thank you so much
Awesome video thank you so much very helpful
I must have missed when said how much of the cuddle fabric to purchase. 1 yard??
It will all depend on how big your quilt top is, you need enough to cover the back plus the extra for the wrap around the front. Thanks for asking
Thanks a lot! What a lovely gift it would make! 😎🌸
Thanks very much I 💕all things you do 🌺🌺🌺
Obrigada, pela informação !
Where did you find that top cotton fabric?
it is from Marcus Fabrics called Bundle of Jungle :) thanks for asking
how did you sew quilt like that what foot did you use on your sewing machine>?
I have a Bernina and I use my BSR quilting foot. Thanks for asking
SewVeryEasy can a brother sewing machine use that kind or is there another name for my sewing machine to use?

You are so smart
That is so cute, love your channel Laura

I wish I had a quilter machine so I could quilt my quilts at the end :(
Me too, I just use my home machine, it works great and gets the job done!
