The grape is called Blaufränkisch by our Austrian neighbors. More people might know that denomination.

Hahaha great channel. I'm a big gruner veltliner fan, especially 1otw ones and good federspiel. Would love a video from you on gruner / austria !
That was fun! I usually identify blaufränkisch (lemberger) by the nose; these wines smell of the earth in which the vines grow, and that earthy nose is my tipoff. My local wine shop has pinot noir from Keller, Ziereisen, and about four other German producers.

Great video, union of my 2 favourite wine channels and masters. Missed Peter. And missed Jay talking german, adore his language skills. And at least - recognizing lemberger is absolutly brillant.
It is also called Blaufrankisch which is what we use in america as the name Lemberger is not appreciated in america due to the cheese.... Its a fantastic grape it is related to pinot and gamay genetically. Amazing grape that has done well here in california in my vineyard.
