I just retired so I thought I would give photography a try. I just bought the Sony A7RV, Sony 85mm GM 2 f/1.4 and the Sony 35mm GM f/1.4 Whenever I start a new hobby I hate upgrading later

I did not get the first version of the Sony 85mm 1.4 GM Lens, because it is not sharp enough for my expectations and it is too heavy. I got the new Sony 85mm 1.4 GM II Lens which is sharper than the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM Lens which I also have.
@@WilkinsonCameras i have got the 1.8, but this is very tempting……. Cannot really justify it until I start to fill up diary with client bookings (new biz project!!!)
@@philipgilligan_art Sounds very exciting! Perhaps when you're ready we can tempt you with a pre-owned FE 85mm F1.4 GM instead of the Mark II 😉 Save some pennies for... more lenses!
Sony are certainly the Marmite of the camera colour science world… you either love them or hate them 😅 Most of our content is filmed on Sony so we do enjoy the look they give. But it’s true that they differ from other brands.
@@Fontsman-14 nah...to my eyes sony colours look greenish and blue out of the camera, nikon is green too, canon is a n=bit magenta but not as much the amount of green sony puts out
@mbismbismb I don't think my A7R4 is biased towards green at all. But I import into Lightroom and apply Sony colour profiles automatically. Generally colours are quite neutral.
I have NO problems, many of my friends also have Sony Cameras, they have no problems !!! Maybe you just use the wrong software or use the software wrong !

I was annoyed by the noise the old one made so the lighter weight and not noisy AF is a must upgrade especially at the same price as original

Sony colour science is very good. Quite neutral. Nikon tends to be a bit too green and Canon definitely favouring red.
