After taking this course. My super-insurance company gave me a discount on my premium. That is until I hit a rock flipping and killing my gunner. Now I'm down a reinforcement and I'm pretty sure my premium is about to go back up.
-1 Democracy Point. You missed important details like how/when to use the handbrake and the horn. Handbrake is for drifting around corners or parking on slightly-sloped terrain, horn is for everything all the time. Otherwise excellent video, covers most of the concerns.
@@GusCraft460 i do like the handbrake for practically turning in place or otherwise doing the tightest U-turn. Closest thing we can get to tank treads that can neutral steer.
Illuminates in urban area you can almost drive on gear 2 permanently and do insane drifts with brake plus direction then keep the momentum and enter a new road (keyboard peak for that). And a little tip, when your car is on the verge of doing a flip, you know when you're on 2 wheels after taking a small rock too fast and it's about to flip turn to the opposite direction, even if you're almost stationary it will put it back on the ground.
Additionnal tips - watch out for those plants on certain planets that can almost one shot you if you drive over them and will almost certainly blow one of your tires - players on pc might want to remain in 1st gear most of the time, it really adds to the maneuverability and will prevent you from flipping over - friendly fire is enabled in the car, watch out about firing on passengers and avoid recklessly using explosives that can kill everyone like the autocannon, better tell your mates to aim that full charged purifier shot well otherwise you're all dead, also do be wary of shields which will block (friendly) shots even in the car - on the passenger seats, you can use and reload all your weapons which includes heavy weapons like the recoiless rifle (which just excells if you've got some good communication), additionnally you can use the grenade pistol from it, allowing you to close bug holes - if you're doing an objective that requires you to stand and defend an area or generally to remain in an area for a long time, try to leave the car a bit farther away from combat - the car excells when you have good communication, if you know what you're doing you can breeze through nests and clear the "destroy eggs" missions extremely efficiently - make sure you are aware of where you're going and try not to fall into any holes like there are on those hive destruction missions - if you are in a tricky situation at extraction on bug missions you can drive in circles around the extraction while pelican is coming and unless you're stupid or the terrain doesn't allow this you can survive pretty confidently - if one of your allies is not coming inside the vehicle after you've honked them and is still running like an idiot, don't waste time and move, the stupidity and indecision of your allies will get your car destroyed most of the time so leave them behind if you're not sure they wanna get in - handbrake can be used very efficiently to turn quickly as well, it increases your chances of flipping though - if you've got good reflexes manually switching gears is faster, for example sometimes you're in reverse but a charger is closing in, what I usually do in this situation is manually switch to first gear, this is a little faster than letting it do it automatically - anyone who is carrying something can only do so in the passenger seats, not in the driver or rear gunner, and the guy who's carrying the thing (be it the egg, bot head or an SSSD) must not aim otherwise it'll drop the thing (and yes that includes placing map markers)
Day 5 of asking for an Arc-thrower tutorial! (Started since the quasar video) FRV is just a go-to for me. Bugs, Squids,….and sometimes Bots. The paper thin to tank armor levels of health this vehicle has just depends on how democratically you drive.
Flamer, Flamer, FLAMER! Ever since the squids came around I've been using it on them non-stop, but I don't see anyone else do it? And on the other fronts, too, seems like a rather rare stratagem to see.
As a dedicated driver since halo 3 i have some real tips, driver get in the passenger seat first, it let's you shoot from there. And let's you hold packages and reload while driving. Hit "C" or crouch to swap seats, that's how you start driving from the passenger seat. "F" or melee honks the horn, and "X" or the drop item button swaps the lights, low, high, off. If you're on pc these keybinds are set to the letter no matter what they are bound to. Spacebar or id assume dive button activates the e brake and let's you have a controlled drift. Always look ahead and find items to circle around, this let's you go faster and be in better control as the car wants to slide. On flat ground, especially in cites the car will want to drift so use that and e brake to control when it does. Using some lightning mcqueen drive into the drift tech with the e brake lets you do 90 degree turns in the city streets. Hitting the brake before getting out also stops the car from rolling away from you. Dont go full throttle over jumps, dine crests etc. Ive flipped and been unrecoverable too many times, surviving is better. Pay attention to where your gunner is aiming/shooting. Sometimes giving them a predictable path or even stopping helps them kill the big thing that's threatening you. If you have full passengers, pull up with the enemies on one side and let your team know they can shoot, you can broadside the enemies without teamkilling. Let them know when it's time to go so they can sit back down. Avoid explosives, they pop the tires so fast, otherwise the car is very durable, more likely to kill the passengers than the car itself. Do not shoot any arc weapons or the plasma punisher from in the passenger seats, they will kill the car and everyone in it. Lock on weapons are goated from the passenger seats and you can reload all backpack weapons from inside as well. Road killing is fun but takes speed and doesn't work well on larger enemies. Pay attention to where you park so you can have a speedy escape. And finally always be moving, that's your best tool for survival. Also i basically only use drive and i play on pc, you just tap w till you get up to speed, and tap left or right if you need too keep straight and use steering for speed. Sometimes donuts are the best way to pick up speed you mat just have to escape a different direction than you originally planned and circle back, you have a car after all
I freakin' love the car it's my favorite emplacement on wheels. For cities and dense jungles I tend to bring a walking barrage to "pave" a road for me. Call me psycho but you'll thank me when I drive you out of Stalkers zones. I had 3 stalker lairs last night and we had to drive by their nest! I would love if they could have a highway of sorts part of the random terrain or maybe some sort of special mission. Enemy heavies would use it too but you can drive insanely fast on it and reach side of a map quickly.

All you gotta do is tap you controls to fine tune your steering. Also, there are sometimes situations where your car is almost tipping over after a rock or roll. In that case, tap S to put your car to a half, let go of W for a sec, then it will land on all fours again.
Tip for pc, just do very light taps to turn, otherwise youll just spin out Been using this on all planets in heavy armour, really removes the speed downside once you get used to the driving controls

First gear has more torque and is better for climbing slopes. Second gear has higher speed at the cost of torque and acceleration. Drive is just letting the car adjust your torque and acceleration to match your speed. Do you even know how to drive a car in real life? It’s even an automatic! I drive stick and I still know how this works.
How about something about "if your getting in the gunner seat dont completely waste the ammo for no reason" maybe im just unlucky in pubs but people wasting all my cars ammo in approximately 2 seconds is annoying af
I cant wait for the day they add explosive transmissions for if we are going too fast in 1st gear and the car just will explode if at high RPM for too long.

I actually don’t use the handbrake on turns because the FRV already oversteers.

Good luck convincing Microsoft to give the green light on that...
