Not being critical; just trying to help regarding definitions: Gnarled (the word you used to describe the pattern on the turning knob) is a rough, natural condition (e.g. a tree stump with a lot of unevenness) Knurled is a geometric pattern machined on a lathe (i.e. the pattern on the turning knob on Retro 51s is known as knurling) Sorry, but as a mechanical engineer, I'm compelled to help educate... no offense intended.
Got the Smithsonian Corona pen, numbered (in the #3000s,) as my first typewriter was a Smith Corona. This F&I is on my radar, as one for next year, love the dragon motif.
Over the years I've purchased four of the Retro 51 rollerball pens but I've changed three of them to ballpoints which I feel is more useful, especially if you need to fill out carbonless forms.
In d&d campaign, our barbarian decided to play gnome punting inside the building. We need to get that gnome to talk. So he kicked him like you would a ball. He rolled natural 20! 🤣
What refills do they take? Looks similar to a Parker G2. I don't think there are any retailers for Retro 51 this side of the pond, so it'd cost a lot to get one sadly.
Just bought one for my daughter. She DM’s campaigns with other trainees at CFB Moose Jaw. Also interested in a source for refills preferably a Canadian source.
Never used a d4? Hah! You must not play mages...because magic missile has done 1d4+1 of damage (force damage in 5th edition) in every version of DnD except "basic" where it used a d6 (but took longer to get additional missiles). Just ordered the pen, pencil, and even the case.

Mine is numbered at 1258. Love it so much.
Got one when they first came out but haven't started using it yet. I got a second as a birthday gift for my DM and I don't want to spoil the surprise.
Ooh pretty dice! I did the same thing when I saw that pen - here, take my money! I have several Retro 51s and love them.
That is a great looking pen. I have a 51 Rollerball with the bee design.
I got the pen, pencil, and coozy, the pencil came with extra lead as well as extra erasers.

What insert are you using?
I think it is so cool that you play DND!
This pen appeals to me as a former player so very much. Thanks for showing it to us.
D&D and pens: the ideal hobby combo! You will fill many many notebooks!

I kinda want this but I’ve never played d & d before. 😂
I have both versions of the Fire and Dice Retro 51 and the Sleepy Hollow Halloween themed rollerball and I don’t know which I like more.
Gold spot sells red and green ink refills for retro 51 roller pens
Interesting how much overlapping there is between the hobbies RPGs and pens.
I am not a gamer but I bought it as a gift. It is a nice pen.
I own the pen and the pencil both are awesome looking
Is the pencil heavy?
Cam you use fountain pen ink converters with this pen?
Not that I’m aware of but if you find one, let me know.

My partner has it and she is an avid player
