So what'cha want
"So What'cha Want" is the second single from the album Check Your Head, the third studio album by American rap rock group the Beastie Boys. Released on June 2, 1992, the song samples "Just Rhymin' With Biz" by Big Daddy Kane featuring Biz Markie, and "I've Been Watching You" by Southside Movement. The song also appears in the video game Rock Band 2.
Beastie Boys were an American rap rock group from New York City, formed in 1978. The group was composed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond (vocals, drums), Adam "MCA" Yauch (vocals, bass) and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (vocals, guitar, programming).
Beastie Boys were formed out of members of experimental hardcore punk band the Young Aborigines in 1978, with Diamond as vocalist, Jeremy Shatan on bass guitar, guitarist John Berry and Kate Schellenbach on drums. When Shatan left in 1981, Yauch replaced him on bass and the band changed their name to Beastie Boys. Berry left shortly thereafter and was replaced by Horovitz.
After achieving local success with the 1983 comedy hip hop single "Cooky Puss", Beastie Boys made a full transition to hip hop, and Schellenbach left. They toured with Madonna in 1985 and a year later released their debut album, Licensed to Ill, the first rap record to top the Billboard 200 chart. Their second album, Paul's Boutique (1989), was a commercial failure, but later received critical acclaim. Check Your Head (1992) and Ill Communication (1994) found mainstream success, followed by Hello Nasty (1998), To the 5 Boroughs (2004), The Mix-Up (2007), and Hot Sauce Committee Part Two (2011).
Beastie Boys have sold 20 million records in the United States, making them the biggest-selling rap group since Billboard began recording sales in 1991. With seven platinum-selling albums from 1986 to 2004, Beastie Boys were one of the longest-lived hip hop acts worldwide. In 2012, they became the third rap group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Cypress Hill is an American hip hop group from South Gate, California. Cypress Hill is the first Latin-American hip hop group to have sold multi-platinum and platinum albums, having sold over 20 million albums worldwide. They are considered to be among the main progenitors of West Coast hip hop and hip hop in the 1990s. The group has been critically acclaimed for their first 5 albums. All of the group members advocate for medical and recreational use of cannabis in the United States. In 2019, Cypress Hill became the first Latin-American hip hop artists to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I feel in the 90s everyone just got along so much better, and social media tore us apart.
B Real just yeeting his blunt into the crowd is so epic
They went hard here.
This is such an incredible show. Reminds me of a fugazi performance of waiting room. No cell phones, people just having a blast.
I watched this in 2000 or 2001 in Beijing with my Chinese Beijing punk rocker friends, smoked up, on VHS, on a small TV.
I miss those days!
You can’t front on that. Yeah 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Golden times, and they're not coming back
Incredible energy. The 90s were a special time
Eramos tan felices y no nos dabamos cuenta.....hermosa epoca.
This is how a crowd should behave. No phones, no selfies, just people having the time of their lives.
Except for the guy doing us a huge favor with a video camera.
Never thought LA liked beastie boys like this
Except for the fact that if our generation had access to modern technology, best believe you’d see an ocean of phones. We weren’t doing this out of honor, we were kids and would have flipped out if we could preserve video footage we could show to our friends, especially being teenagers when these acts meant the world to us. Kids will be kids. We were just as crazy, cavalier and dumb.
@@805fillmore they spent time in Gardena back then
Cos no had a phone 👆
Man what i would do to be at this
So epic
A time machine may land on your door. I wish you well if that happens.
Yes.
I caught this tour in Warwick, RI. Cypress Hill wasn’t there, was B-Boys, House of Pain and L7. Awesome show nonetheless. Saw the B-Boys live 4 times before Yauch passed. He’d be 60 today. Rest in Peace Adam 🙏
Feeling grateful that I saw the Beasties and Cypress Hill during this era and also fortunate to see the Beasties many more times. They have never disappointed me with their work always spot on. I know that every time period is the best time period for some subset of the population but damn the 90's provided some top notch music and shows. Wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for sharing this.
"peace to my home town of SOUTH GATE" -sen dog
I remember I had this bootleg tape back in the 90s I thought it was fake, to actually see them perform live is crazy.

Cypress Hill was Amazing!!!
I miss the days of real artist they broke their backs to give us our monies worth.
I remember I saw De La Soul opening for A Tribe Called Quest my voice gone the next day. I saw RUN DMC in Cleveland I was tired from jumping and dancing, then I saw Pharcyde all the above I was gone. I saw KRS ONE and Supacat that was 🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥, then ONYX 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, TLC opening for Boys 2 Men 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥, James Brown’s former band mate Fred Wesley 🔥🔥🔥🔥, Cameo 🔥🔥🔥🔥, 3 Doors Down 🔥🔥🔥🔥, yeah…great times then no phones, no social media just us folks who understand the artist and vibe with them.
This is insane! The amount of energy that was on that stage! Incredible moment! 👏🙌
O man...... i love the golden years of hip hop. I am glad I experienced it all! 😇
That looks like a HELL of a gig, especially for a notoriously indifferent and spoiled LA crowd
Peak beasties era imo. I saw them this same year at Irvine Meadows w cypress hill. House of pain and L7
Was there also. I forgot didn’t Cypress just come out for So Watcha Want?

Bunch of lucky people right here.
So fire man, what a performance from all of them, 2 legendary groups
I never comment, but this is awesome. Wish I was there.
That beautiful time were people could enjoy a performance without to be as a zombie watching their smartphones or watching the whole show through their smartphones...
