@jnharton they are pretty ugly above ground, but if there's a leak, the gas disperses. Underground, the gas collects in voids. Either way, if it leaks into a basement you're screwed because it's more dense than air.
Why do you think that? Seems a lot less risky than above ground. Imagine you live in a forest fire prone area. At least underground, you have a 50/50 chance of it not exploding.
@@MrBigdaddy2ya That is not universally true. I know of 2 that I have seen on youtube where there was an explosion with a cloud of smoke but not fireball. Then nothing for like a minute, then a raging fire began. Sometimes the initial explosion will push the air out and so there is no fire immediately, but you still have a dense area of very high heat and now all the building materials are exposed. So a fire starts up quickly afterwards. It can happen although I think the fireball like you describe is more common.
@@Nash1a i too have seen recently houses exploding and a couple look like this no fireball. If gas ignites it burns immediately and im telling you this was not gas but I think a device. Look at the complete damage. They said a propane tank was buried under the house but this is not allowed in our country. Recently a Chinese national lured the cops to his house and used a flare gun to ignite the gas he had purposefully left on and his house went up in a fireball. Its on youtube. Also Hamas in gaza are setting up house bombs using gas in large tanks recently. I would like to know more about the two men killed in this explosion. Curious if any foreign connections or if either were involve in intelligence. We have a proxy war happening on our streets due to gaza and Ukraine wars and our country is being mum about it.
What I really want to avoid are these 4 and 5 story wood frame mega apartment buildings. That's just too much fuel in a confined area. Those fires spread like mad.
Why put a propane tank underground? Seems like a very high risk design.
Perhaps there was no acceptable above ground location?
The danger of having it next to your house isn't that much different afaik.

That looks like more than just a “gas” explosion.
They always look like "more than just a gas explosion." until eventually a rational person says, "Oh, this is what a gas explosion looks like".
@@Nash1agas explosions make a fireball this had no fireball. This was a concussion blast. My guess this was a russian hit

@@Nash1a also seeing a lot of cover comments happening on youtube these days and they always are "hightlighted" comments like yours.
Stay away from these new builds they go up too fast and cheaply made 😢 🙏 Rip ❤️
