  • In this episode we are fly fishing for Silver Salmon and Pink Salmon. We fly fish with Colin Flanagan from Flanagan Fly Fishing (www.flanaganfl...) , using dry fly poppers and wet flies to catch and release hard fighting fish. We are on the water as the sun comes up and cross the water to shores of Whidbey Island in search of feeding salmon. We cast and pull wet flies, catching and releasing some nice fish very close to shore. Then we find a school of feeding fish and it is time for the poppers. An incredible way to fish for salmon in the Sound. Casting into feeding fish and actively pulling the popper and anticipating the attack. So much fun. I hope you enjoy this episode.

I used to catch these fish from shore as a kid. Right in the same place. Great fishery.

Love this video. I want to go try it. But I'm pretty sure that was NOT a 6 pound fish and no way it was 7. Maybe 4#.

Sea-run Cutthroat are a jolt as well. They don't get as big as Coho but they fight like a super charged Westslope.

Good to know. We are hoping to connect with Collin again and go after Sea-runs.

I like your videos because there’s so many of them and I love fly fishing, & the PNW, but Jesus H. Christ, point the rod directly at the fly, and strip set. It’s not hard.
