I just transitioned from the olive to the argon and the contrast is amazing! It doesn't turn white like the olive. The argon is much better for a wash n go.
this video was perfect. I used the olive oil Eco styler gel and the hold is very strong and for me after maybe 2 days of natural curls the crunch would be gone. I brought but haven't tried the Argan oil Eco styler gel yet but this review has helped me a lot ☺️. Thanks !
I tried out the Eco Styler Argan oil gel and the Shea Moisture Souflle for a wash and go!! Wow! It worked really well...and my hair was not as sticky as when I use the Shea Moisture Souffle alone!! Thank you once again!
FINALLY a natural type 4 hair look. Everytime i search "natural..." i get these ladies with wavy hair. And yeah they're pretty and their hair is nice but not all black ladies look like that. Thanks sis for a great review
I love the olive oil one.The crunch is not bad I don't mind it.It just allows my twist outs to last longer. It's only hard for 2days and you can add oils to your hair to take the crunch away the day of applying it
@Sarachel Mt oh gosh, l left that comment 6years ago...lol I had to watch the video again.OH Gosh no, I never do white cream stylers or conditioners with gels, because yes it will leave white residue in your hair. I do clear conditioners like Paul Mitchell or Cantu Styling Custard-care4kids, miss Jessie's coily Custard Or just Any Oil before applying the gel.
No problem! It worked well with the things I used on my hair :) (BTW, try mixing a little of the gel with the products your planning to use in you hair and rub them together in your hands (like you would lotion). If it makes little balls or chunks that aren't meshing then there is a big chance that if going to flake in your hair. If its creamy or a little chunky but then "creams" together, it should be fine in your hair :) )
I just did a tutorial on laying down my 4c edges with the eco w/argan and it does not leave that hard crunchy dry feeling or flakes. I love it! I just discovered using a edge control after it dries helps with extra hold!
Beautiful hair! 🤩 My 4c hair texture loves the argan for coils. Instant coils when applied. I was surprised as I never thought my hair would be capable of showing defined coils. I have a slightly tight S curl pattern once the gel is applied. I am thinking of trying out their eco castor oil/coconut oil to see if I get the same defined results. I just love finding products that works 😁😁
I prefer to use no gel for my true wash and goes because my hair need a ton of moisture in its shrunken state... but I make an exception for the curling souffle from shea moisture because it isn't harsh on my hair.
I cowash my hair when I want to remove gel and other products :) I usually go no more than 4 days wearing a wash and go. If I'm wearing my hair in its 100 percent shrunken state I like to cowash it every 1-2 days....or stretch it out into a larger fro. It just depends on the elements lol.
No problem :) You may be using too much product (souffle) :) I've only gotten white residue in the beginning of my natural journey using the smoothie because it wasn't absorbing well. I've adjusted the amount I use and it works well for me now.
just wanted to tell you that I enjoy watching your videos. Your hair texture is so similar to mine and I have found that there aren't many RUclipsrs with natural hair channels with hair that is as close in texture to mine. You're very informative. Looking forward to more from you and I need to check out your blog one day.
You are a gem! Thanks for your awesome review! I had the exact same experience with those two gels. After my BC, I had gotten the Argan oil by accident because my local supply store was out of the olive oil one. So, when I finished it, I tried the olive oil gel. No likey.
This is so great I love watching you although I dont have 4c hair because I get to see differences, my 4a hair loves the olive oil gel. I must add that it does get very hard but when it dries I soften it by using a spray bottle of water and a mixture of coconut and olive oil!!! Thanx for the vid
Great review!! I am still trying to see what products work for me and I recently decided to give the Eco Styler Argan Oil a second try...I will see how it works for me with the Shea Moisture Souffle.
This was a good, honest review. And you are very personable. For some reason the green one makes my hair break off. But I recently tried the argan oil and I like it so far.
I have a whole bottle of the green one too. I figure I'll save it for future buns and ponytails one day lol. Does not work otherwise for me. I'm using the Loreal cream gel for finger coils. No hold really but helped with shine. I like soft hair anyway. Gel dries out my hair.
+Temickab b lol!! I had a crumb in the front of my hair lol. So I put a quick not in the video :D (I didn't realize at the time my camera likely didn't pick it up anyways lol.)
I have used both the green and the yellow one and what I do is I keep my old jar, wash it out, put half of the gel in the old jar and add water the jar and shake it up, its not as crunchy then and still has great hold, plus it lasts FOREVER.
I have the olive oil one but haven't used it in ages...I just stay away from it now. Love the smell of it lol...I'll maybe use it in a few months to see if I like it.
My aunt gave me the olive oil kind, and I guess I have noticed some of the things she said like the flakes and stuff. Thanks for the review because I will definitely be telling my mom to get me the one with Argan oil. :D( btw people I'm not a woman who still depends on her mother ] I'm 13 )
I have the argan oil, it is that same huge jar, I think I will have that jar for like five years, i like using it when I'm stretching my relaxer and I apply to my edges, it defines my curls so good, I have wavy edges instead of puffy edges, i love it. And I also use it for my rollersets which I ventured odd t try miss Jessie's pillow soft and jelly curls
I use this product for my finger coils and I can get a week out of them. Have you ever tried the small finger coils? I would love to see that style on you. Very great style to combat humidity.
Have you tried using the Olive Oil version to make a custard? I have both the Argan and the Olive Oil but the Argan works best for my W&G. But I use the Olive Oil to make a custard and it's awesome.
I just tried eco styler gel the one with olive ol, I like that it doesnt dry hair like most reputable gels over here but the flaking (my word) , it was horrible. I applied shea butter mixed with cocconut and argan oil to avoid the gel dryin ma hair too much. I literally had to shampoo it off like a few seconds ago and I am just gone leave ma hair like tht with no product. so ready for a PS rn
Yep I agree with you, the Olive Oil gel gives my hair this flaky crunch that I just CAN'T take! So I will definitely go and check out the Argan Oil gel.
I did not like the eco styler olive oil gel so much--its okay for twist outs but I don't like the feel of my hair with gel at all. I purchased the eco styler pink gel in the pink bottle for curly textures last month (couldn't find the argan oil one) and it works well for my protective styles but my plan is to get the eco styler argan oil gel b/c it seems like a better fit for my hair. Thanks for your review :)
You think that one is big, I have the big 5lb container that I was gifted with from Ecoco so I am set for awhile. I love the Argan Gell and so does my hair. Now the Olive Oil one, my hair was not a happy camper!
I've added olive oil to my Eco styler Olive oil gel. ( I mean 1/2 of a cup to the same large container as yours). Maybe you can use up the olive oil gel. (I hope this helps).
I have them both haven't tried either with twist or braid out, I have the Krystal one too haven't tried that one either. I'm just loving the protein one at the moment. Ill have to try the others on a weekend or something so if its a disaster I can fix it lol
For me personally the Arran honestly doesn't have any hold for my hair and it never got crunchy. It actually for me feels like I put water in my hair lol. But I like the fact that it's not crazy hold. I like Shea moistures gel because after I use it my hair remains moisturized for days. Lol
Its interesting that the ingredients are the same except for the oils. I just got the one with olive oil because I went outside and my curls poofepoofed so fast it looked like I hadn't done anything to it at all. Maybe I'll pick up the argan oil and try it next time to see the difference. Thanks for the review!!! I was told gels don't work well on 4c hair. If this works on 4c hair it must be some powerful stuff!!!!!
Argan rain %100 Pure Argan Oil is an excellent moisturizing hair treatment. I use this all the time especially after a long day at the beach. It keeps my hair soft and manageable. The bottle is enough and a little really goes a long way. I like to use right after I wash my hair and let it air dry naturally.
I finally found the argon oil gel and I agree, it's a lot better. Although the olive oil defines my curls more, the argon oil makes my hair softer and lasts longer.
I don't get any crunch on my hair. Lol. I have the olive oil, argan oil, and the clear ecostyler gel. They all work the same for me. It enhances my waves. It says "10" hold, but I beg to differ. It doesn't seem like a 10 hold at all, more like a 7 hold, but I love all three of them! 😃👏👏
+judy njoki I have a video called avoiding flakes and balls of goo that may be helpful. It talks and shows how I like to handle gels and creamy products before putting them in my hair 😉
Was on debate about which to try between the olive & argon. Will go for the argon. The one Gel I've been trying for 2 weeks has left my hair super dry and hard. I'm now noticing tangles I didn't have. Only thing helping to add moist is my coconut oil. Does argon leave the hair dry and hard? 😕
I don't like the olive oil gel either but I'm tempted to try the argan oil gel one day. But Eco styler just makes my hair way to hard to the point where I'm scared to touch it lol.
I have recently learned that Argan Plus Exotic Oils can help to replenish collagen in the face, so I wanted to include it into my Lavender and Rosemary Shea Butter Face Cream. My concern is that it could throw off the mixture balance. Have you tried adding it to any face cream bases and if so what were your findings? I'm checking Google now for more information.

She looks more like Beyonce sister but sounds like Beyonce

Pillias mogohous 😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yes she does. Girl the hate on your comment is strong! :)

I keep my hair short but I still love watching your videos lol Love everyone of them!
Thank you soo much everyone! :)

Isn't she just worth watching guys?...Thanks girl...you are so informative as always...love to the rest of the fam...peace!!!
Thanks! I have two videos on the channel showing how I like to trim my hair :) One is called Defined Twistout with Trim.

I love your hair!!! 😭 The shape is gorgeous too
I use the argan oil one for my brush coils; that big tub lasts two months. It gives me a strong hold without the crunchiness.
Hey! I don't wear protective styles :) I may try some at some point though
Thank you soo much everybody! I hope you are having a great day!
I love your wash and go. Am too lazy with twisting , so I always wear w&gs.
why did I just see a bag of cheetos in the beginning lol
+Temickab b lol!! I had a crumb in the front of my hair lol. So I put a quick not in the video :D (I didn't realize at the time my camera likely didn't pick it up anyways lol.)
+NaturalMe4C I thought it was a subliminal message so I went to Walmart and bought me a bag. lmao they're pretty good!
Temickab b lol!!!

VERY HELPFUL! And very thorough. You hit on all the points I was curious about. Excellent review!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!
Thanks! I've tried them once early in my journey :) I may try them again
I thought I was alone in preferring the Argan oil one over the Olive oil. And I absolutely LOVE the smell
I have the olive oil one but haven't used it in ages...I just stay away from it now. Love the smell of it lol...I'll maybe use it in a few months to see if I like it.

Very nice review, please can you make a video on how you trim your hair? Thanks in advance.
Try the blue Eco styler it's the best one I think very very light and nothing to scrunch out
I love the argan oil formula better than the olive oil too! Olive oil creates flakes and my hair tends to feel dryer
i am so in love with these gels people keep asking me what i use in my hair.
Try adding an oil/leave in to your hair before u apply the gel. Gels are formulated for hold so if you use it by itself it will be very hard
I use the Pompien brand of olive oil :)

Ericka Jean That's an advertisement.

That's awesome! :D
Yup!! I get nice waves! 😃
You should try dark and lovelys quick styling gel, its amazing
when i use the olive oil one i get alot of flakes..i dont know why...i wonder if the argon oil one is different
+judy njoki I have a video called avoiding flakes and balls of goo that may be helpful. It talks and shows how I like to handle gels and creamy products before putting them in my hair 😉
judy njoki me too because I hate flakiness on my natural hair
J njoki does the other one work for 4c hair?
Was on debate about which to try between the olive & argon. Will go for the argon. The one Gel I've been trying for 2 weeks has left my hair super dry and hard. I'm now noticing tangles I didn't have. Only thing helping to add moist is my coconut oil. Does argon leave the hair dry and hard? 😕
Hey! It doesn't have silicones :)
You have given me so much hope/knowledge with my 4c hair. I have a very Picky fro😁 Thanks for sharing!
I don't like the olive oil gel either but I'm tempted to try the argan oil gel one day. But Eco styler just makes my hair way to hard to the point where I'm scared to touch it lol.
Great idea!
Olive Oil && Krystal are my faves !!
Great I will try the argan oil because the olive oil isn't working well for me either...
Thanks!
I love your fro in your profile pic,it's so beautiful!
Aww thanks!!! :D
:)
Yeah!!! I will definitely try it out. Thanks for the reply.
Argan Rain %100 Pure Argan Oil is a miracle product. Not only do I love it for my hair, but it makes my skin glow as well. Not only do I have dry skin, but I also am acne prone. This has kept my skin in check and my split ends non existent!!
Does this Eco Styler Argan Oil gel have silicones? I am looking for a silicone free gel for my wash and go. I am currently using the IC Fantasia, which has a "water soluble" silicone, but I am not sure about that as my hair developed a film after using it for a month. I had to use baking soda to clarify and remove it.
I love the shine from the IC, but I don't like the way my hair feels after several uses.
great review. I have both in the same size. the Argon oil gel does nothing for mt hair, and I was so bummed! The Oilve oil is da bomb.com! It's amazing to see how different products work differently for every natural. I do have to agree on the smells, I'm not a fan of the olive oil smell!
You are very sweet! I really appreciate you saying that! Thank you :D
The best Eco styler is defo the Argan oil. I felt that the Olive oil took longer to dry. I also found that the Olive oil irritated my scalp slightly. TBF I do have a sensitive scalp, so I have to be careful what gels I use on my hair
I'm glad you like it!
Thank you!!! You were very helpful in my decision making. I will definitely be using Eco Styler Argan Oil Gel.
No problem! :D
I think I will try the argan oil gel because the olive is crunchy on my hair. thanks
Great review....Im having the same issue with the Olive Oil...too crunchy for me. I will look for a smaller size and try the Argan oil one. :)
No problem, thanks! :)
Thanks for the honest review. It helped me to make a decision on which of the two gels to actually purchase. I'll definitely be getting the one containing argan oil. Thanks again :-)
zanichar No problem! :D
Hey! Great and informative video. What do you use with the hel as a leave in moisturizer. I'm having trouble with blending gel with leave in conditioners. Thanks.
great idea..I think i will try that too
About the hold, are they both a 10 max hold? I know the olive oil is but I don't know about the argan oil. thanks!
Ditto on the argan instead of the olive oil. I purchased the argan first, and fortunately the argan container is the bigger one. What the gel will do is prevent the glycerin in the CE smoothie from poofing so readily. YAY for the Eco with argan.
Did you mention you used the Eco with the SM soufflé? Did you use a cream with it? Was there a ratio of the Eco to the soufflé? How did it feel? I've never considered that.
Hey! I didn't use a specific ratio :D I just scrunched in a little of each after doing the LOC method I believe.
This is the trim video where I used the gel and smoothie together:

I haven't made any custards with it :)
But the jelly curls does not lay my edges down, but it sure has my hair really shiny
Thanks!!!
