How To: Wash N Go on Short Natural Hair / TWA
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 май 2016
- In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how I achieved my life saving wash n go. This was one of the first styles that actually worked for me during my twa phase after sooo many tries. Between the defined curls and the illusion of a tapered cut, this was an easy choice for a go to style.
Products and Tools used:
Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel
Creme of Nature Perfect Edges
Karen's Body Beautiful Leave In Conditioner
water

This is so amazing. Your comment has inspired me right back!
Congrats on being a survivor. Sending good juju and prayers for perfect health your way

Congrats on being a survivor!!! I too am one that's why I'm watching trying to find something to mane this head lol!!!
Jesenia King hope ur doing well my sister
I absolutely love this tutorial vid. My daughter allowed me to practice, and she loves the results. Now, wants me to do her hair ALL THE TIME, and I'm her dad!!! Thanks for helping me spoil her even more.
Great job..well done and explained Beautiful.
So happy this video helped!
As a man, I certainly appreciate natural beauty in a woman and the effort required to look your best...and the results are indeed, beautiful! Best
Thank u sir
such a sweet comment
"Big Pretty Eyes All Up In The Screen" . 👀👍🏽
Thank you so much for this video. I gathered up the courage to big chop just a few days ago and all of the wash and go videos I was trying would not work with my hair until I watched yours. Your video gave me confidence to rock my new TWA for the first time at work today and feel beautiful with my natural curls. Thank you.
Love your tip on pinning your hair in the back to avoid the dreaded mullet look. Now I have a solution. Thanks for sharing.
Me too. I was like oooo... that's what you do. 😄
Very big thumbs up for that!😆
Really cute and simple ♥️👌
I did this today and by golly it worked! My husband said I look wonderful. Thank you! Thank you! I love following you because your hair is my length right now.
LOVE the simplicity of your regimen! Beautiful results. 😍
Loved your tutorial. I’m a older black woman and I’m always busy. Looking for something quick and easy that I can do myself. This looks easy while keeping my natural hair. Thank you.
That Bobby pin method is brilliant! Never thought of that. Thx for the tip.
i did my first big chop yesterday and i am really loving it so far. i will most definitely be doing this to my hair. thank you
Thanks for the tip regarding the nape. I hated looking like I didn't have a neck. The bobby-pins are the perfect trick to provide a finished look, while not having to cut your hair. Thanks again!
As I'm watching your video the thought occurred to me how bamboozled we as a people have been to buy into the jeri curl fad!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 we never needed a chemical to do what our hair can do naturally!!!
WHO TOLD YOU THAT!? Just like the curl, you have to keep your scalp and hair moist. This is why white people’s hair grow fast. They normally wash their hair daily.
I couldn't agree more. The same effect as the Jeri Curl and better in a lot of cases.
Please this child ain't have no badd hair to begin with...And y is this called wash and go??? 😒😌😨some of us need chemically induced curls.lol
Yes, yes, you are 100℅ correct........we don't need chemicals at all...😇😎😁✝️✔️👌
That is not why white people hair grow the way it does. It's easier for straight hair to come out of the follicle vs curly hair. Less malipulation allows for your hair to not break as much. Also less split ends. They get their hair cut way more than us. Hair no matter what texture grows at an average rate of 6 in a year. We don't have a problem with our hair growing, it's retaining the length that seems to be the issue with women of color. 🙄🤦
That style is so cute! Love our hair, we can do so many things with it.
Love the hair thank you
Those curls are beautiful! Great video and tips as I'm about to big chop my hair next week! 💖
Thank you so much for posting this video! My hair is usually pretty frizzy after I wash it, and this tamed it a lot. This is my favorite wash and go!
Was super confused on how to do gel. Now I know, I thought my hair was the problem. 😄Thanks a million❤❤❤❤
Great tip on tapering the hair in the back! Loved your vid!
I just did another big chop and I can't wait to do this to my hair!!! Love it!!
I love this tutorial. I just did my big chop so I will be doing this as soon as I take my braids out :)
This is the best wash & go; simply, easy and super fast....
I did this style today, and it turned out perfectly! Thank you for this awesome video!
Omg I did this last night and I love it!!!!!
I’m so happy bc my hair is shoulder length and it was blah!
I love it. Thank you💋
Tried it, easy and came well, in just 15 minutes voila!!!Thank you so much
Sharmaine Gervais nice!
Wow thanks for explaining what to do with the "mullet hair" as you call it. I hate that too
Loved your video! Your hair is almost identical to my natural hair. I'm definitely going to do this style. I like my hair short and chic like yours is. You've got yourself a new subscriber. Thank you and stay blessed.
This hair is MAGIC ! LOVE MY NATURAL HAIR!
OK so why is it called wash and go. Clearly natural hair is a lot of work. Why didn't someone tell me that I'd have to do all this work.
+tameikarose because it doesn't have to dry to leave out the house. Of course the technique varies by person and hair type. If this is too much, try finding a way to simplify it and make it convenient for you. For me, this is very convenient compared to the other styles I do that have to dry for 24 hrs or require heated drying which adds a lot of time to the overall process.
Thanks I don't know why I thought going natural would be easier.
@tameikarose I use to think so too. But I found out the hard way it's not :(. But it's well worth it.
tameikarose exactly why I'm cutting my hair to a TWA again. Mine is shoulder length now and I'm so tired of washing my hair for an hr and styling for another hr and a half smh! TWA's are less work.
Right; this is too much. What I do is actually a wash and go. I hop in the shower wash my hair like I do normally. My hair becomes wavy/curly in the water. I pat dry than I get some gel, rather it's the one in this video or some other type of gel that will really hold the curls together; when it drys. I part the hair like she does it, depends on the style. And I am off. Well after getting on my clothes. Takes me 4 mintues or less to do my hair!
Just chopped all my hair off & I'm trying this tonight! Can't wait!
Me too
Did it work
Shereece Jackson I tried it and love it!
Love it, NO CHEMICALS, NO LYE etc.......❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌👌👌✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️😎😎😎😎👁️👁️👍
@@withlovestephaniedenise7024 will it work on short short hair?
Thank you for making this wonderful video. I'm looking forward to trying this
Thank you for the video; is a great way to wear my hair in this Houston heat. Is easy, simple and I love it! Looking out for your videos.
This is my favorite wash n go tutorial. I'm going to attempt mine right now!
OMG I never thought my hair would look like this. it turned out perfect!!!
Astrid Quander great! Glad it worked out for you!
Tried this for the first time yesterday and I did it.I was so proud of myself. Thanks for this video!!
Great tutorial. I'm new to natural hair. This will definitely be a go to style for me!

Oh congrats to both of you ladies !! I'm 5 years natural :) wishing you both a awesome journey !

i have 3c/4a hair. i have figured out my wash and go technique but i have to do it every morning. how can you make it last but still be able to moisturize and seal every night as i must living in dry arizona
Just cut my hair today and was searching ways to style my natural new look. Thanks you for sharing because this is the best one so far in my search. 👍🏾🤗😍
Thank you so much for the video. My hair is about that same length and I am going to try it tonight. Thanks again.
i wish i saw this when i had my cut! now its all grown out
Love your hair, It's nice to see someone with their own. Tired of seeing these long unbeweaveable weaves!
How to: Wash N Go on Short Natural 3a-4a hair.
Are you serious?!
Stop.
They're right tho
Yeah. This definitely does not work on 4c hair 😞
I have done it on 4b-c hair...the curl pattern differs but it definitely still pops. It has a more bouncy, defined curl...always getting asked how I make my hair 'look like that'...before the "...can I touch it?" question. :)
I will try this on my daughter's hair. Thank you so much for this video. I love co-washing!!!
wow I was amazed when you applied that butter/moisturizer to your hair. that stuff looks super moisturizing and shiny... I love it 😍😍
according to urban dictionary, TWA means teenie weenie afro. Is this correct???
yup
Corianna Givens thanks I really was like huh lol
Corianna Givens thanks, I had no idea
Ok. Thank you
Riiiight! Thanks for the clarification bc I was stuck like Chuck n couldn't get up lol😜
i love this, in fact am going to cut off my breaking hair that is giving me sleepless night, so that i can start all over again
That's what I did, so now it's even growing and graying. I have a whole jar of this gel and don't know what to do with it. So I'll try this
Awesome, I think I want to try this style, especially with my busy schedule!!!👌
Wow. My mind is blown. The illusion of tapering the hair. Never would of thought of this is a million years.
My hair length is the same as in the video. Now I know what to do with that extra length in the back. Thank you
Come through curls!! 😻😻
Yas!
love it

❤️❤️❤️ thanks! That means so much!
This is the style I have been looking for, thank you!!
Beautiful woman with beautiful hair.
found this video on pinterest I've watched it like 3 xs
Yaaaassssssss!!! I can totally relate to the "mullet" - especially after it dries!!! Thanks for that TIP!
I like the look. Thanks for the tip about the bobby pins in the back!
That is the cutest thing I have ever seen
Aw thanks love!

here's a few tips for treating african american hair at home
Ensure you get sufficient vitamins (A,B,C,D, and E all help keep hair healthy)
Have sufficient Calcium and Zinc.
Do Not wash your hair too often
Have your hair trimmed a little fairly often
Use conditioner
(I read these and the reasons they work from Delfords hair fixer website )

It looks cute on you, but I'm sorry, but that is not my idea of wash and go. It's still too much work and too many products. I cannot imagine going through all that whenever I want to leave the house. I just saturate my hair (or co-wash) while I'm in the shower, put on a hair band (to intercept water drippage), and then massage the Eco gel through it while it is still very wet, and finger-style it. It really isn't all that complicated.
Shri V. Thank you! Im happy that works for you. It doesn't work for me. I have to do a little more but this is still so much quicker than doing a twist out, braid out, perm rod set, pretty much any other style I like to do. So I still consider it to be a wash n go because I wash it, add product, and I don't have to wait for my hair to dry to leave out the house.
You're a sweetheart; I don't think you need a perm-rod set and all that anyway. I like your curly hair as it is. It's very similar to my daughter's hair before she started messing around with the texture. But, hey, whatever gets us through the day- right? At any rate- thanks for sharing.
Shri V. clearly you have not seen the millions of other videos dubbed "wash n go" with much more tedious steps than this. the name is not literally....the result just look like so
Am I putting too much cream on when its white?Sometimes I dont get the curl I want. Im doing it wrong.
Christian's Grandma Make sure your hair is really wet when you put the cream on because otherwise it can sit on your hair and you don't need that much either maybe a dime to quarter size per section. The whiteness should disappear after it dries.
Wow!! I think I finally found my wash 'N' GO! Thank you 😊
Thanks for the help. I was following everything you did and in the end came up with new style from the curls made. So thank you for the start.
+Girlpower648 great!! Glad this helped
I'm giving this a shot tonight. I hope it comes out as pretty as her.
Natilie Simmons how did it go? considering to try it too sometime
Samantha SammyDaBest Parker it didn't work :-( Some curls were tight, and the others were really loose. And it just looked odd. I had to rinse out all the gel and style it in my normal fashion.
Natilie Simmons dang. sorry to hear that. yea I tried the flat twist out but I can't twist my hair that well in the back so the front and sides are nice but not so much the back. oh well lol xD
Samantha SammyDaBest Parker LOL well at least you gave it a shot :-)
Natilie Simmons I'm about to do this too!!! At Sallys beauty supply right now.
does this work with every natural hair type ?
What this does is define your curls. So if your curl pattern is coily, this should come out similar. If your curl is looser, your curls will be looser. Still pretty. If you have kinky hair(like z), it wouldn't curl it up but it'll define your kinks and will still be pretty imo. After being unsuccessful at wash n gos for so many years, I learned that different techniques and products work for different people and textures. It's worth a try to see how it turns out no matter what your texture is. It might be what you've been waiting for.
beautiful, i love it I will try it on my short natural hair .thank you 🌺💙
Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I had the same issues with the back of my hair. I will now start using hair pins to pin it up. THANKS FOR THE TIP. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS....Has been a great help for my on my journey!!!!
Thank you so much! Glad I can help!
so co-wash -> leave-in conditioner -> water -> gel?? is that correct?
Also can anybody recommend an edge controller?? the creme of nature one doesn't work for me :(
What type of hair do you have?
Benita Bahoya, Try Lottabody Control Me Edge Gel or Silk Elements Straight Edges.
Fe Bill thnx
You're welcome.
When Eco styler dries does it look white or flaky and does your hair feel crunchy?
It depends on what you apply with it. The leave in conditioner I use works well with Eco styler gel so the gel doesn't flake.

WHAT LEAVE IN CONDITIONER DO YOU USE?
Karen's body beautiful leave in condtioner
I don't care how much ppl say natural hair is a lot of work my hair thrives best in it's natural state. And how I take care of it, it just grows and grows! This is beautiful after I take out my coils I'm doing this style!
Love it and excellent will be trying this. Great tutorial, thank you.
Is this the only type of gel you can use for this style? How do you keep it from flaking when dry? Thanks looks great!!
Donna Crane I'd like to know about the dryness & flaking too
Donna Crane oil. maybe olive oil or argon oil, i'm not too sure about coconut oil since it's white in it's solid state which is what you're avoiding. but be careful not to put too much oil in your hair or it'll get gross lol
thanks
You look like Laura Winslow from family matters

Thank you very much 😃chriseal walker

What do you do to this at night?
I wrap my hair in a satin scarf at night. In the morning, I use a spray bottle to spray my hair with water. I don't have to touch it. It just brings it back to life after about 10 minutes. Another thing I do in the morning sometimes instead of spraying my hair is fluff with my fingers. I don't rake. I just use my hands to raise my hair. And that works too. But I like to do water most of the time because it's more hydrating.
Cie Foster My spray bottle has conditioner and oil in it also. Do you think refreshing in the morning with that will be okay or do you suggest JUST water?

How to make faux locks using fluffy kinky
i just BC today, and im taking it all in. Not truly comfortable, but thanks for this video. goes to show confidence with your TWA. Hope i gain some too!
EXCELLENT Video..great tutorial & you look AMAZING! 🥰
this is lovely but were you satisfied when it dried? i did this and it was poppin when i left out but later on in the day. .not so much lol
Yes I love the results when they dry and it lasts all week. Looks very similar to how it looks when wet for me.
is dat ur natural hair
OMG, I'm going to try this like...tomorrow. But when it dries, does it get crunchy feeling? Or dry?
calista chinwe
Cie Foster , Do you let your hair air dry or use a diffuser most of the time? do you use one drying method depending on the style, weather, or how you feel that day? I am about to use the technique in this video on my hair tonight! excited! Thanks for the video and responses!! 😀
How do you sleep with it at night for the next day
Shania A. Was wondering the same.
Hw do you sleep with it over the night so as to come out nice the next day
I love this tutorial and I cant wait to try it on my 4c natural hair.thankx you lot of love
I'm curious - how did this style work on your hair? I'm also 4c, and transitioning and I'm trying to find styles before I do a final chop.
This is how I wear my hair most days. I add some curling cream along with the Eco gel and leave in, but I get the same results. I love this style. This video is great!!
The gel don't flake
Do you remember how many months post big chop you were in this video?
I was 2 months post big chop

Hello, my name is Doris Valdez founder of Roottural Organic Hair Care. I'm emailing you today because I've been watching your videos and reviews about hair products. Is it possible for me to send you some samples of my products? Maybe try it and if you like it, write a review?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank You,
Doris Valdez
I love your hair. I went in for a trim and shape up. I came home with teased up hair. I had an ugly, even cut. Your picture is the one I took in. I had to get an unplanned haircut. I was with another stylist who’s very good with cuts
I'm cutting my hair to look like yours and curling it!! I really needed this video
Good job on the tutorial, pretty hairstyle, and lovely eyes!
Love it! This makes me miss my hair at this stage ☺️. Your hair has grown soooo much since this video!
I love the result. Simple and easy!
I'm going to save your video to my tablet. I feel like we have similar hair.
My hair is really curly, but when it's dry it's frizzy. when it's wet, it curls up beautifully.
My hair is past my shoulder blade, and half of that is relaxer. I've been growing my hair out for a year and a half now and I think it's time to just stop doing relaxers and just be me again.
So.... I am going to save your video to my tablet so that I can see how to care for my hair after I've gotten it REDONE... and THANK YOU SO MUCH for uploading this video. You've helped me more than you know.
SISTER to SISTER....
THANK YOU
UPDATE: Nov. 27, 19
I had all of the relaxer cut out of my hair in june. I love it.... but those days when you just want to put it in a ponytail and go........ boo hoo.... THEIR GONE.... i miss my long hair. But I LOVE being natural.
Thank you so much for this video I need this video will help me out with my short natural hair 💆🏿
One of the best TWA styling videos
Clove this, you made it easy to copy and I like the mullet pin up idea
Congrats on the wash n go! It looks great
Lol I just found you!! I just watched you perm rod set and I found this video!! Thanks for their tips and tricks!!
Its surprising how easily you did it!! I have to try this on my next WNG for real!
Great Video. I like how you pin the back of your hair up to keep it from looking like a "mullet" lol. I wish I learned that trick sooner. Always felt like I had an old school S curl
Great Wash n Go :) Thank you for solving my mullet problem
This is the cutest twa that I have seen thus far... good job
Thanks girl!
I just came across your video for the natural styling look, I love how you style the short look, thank you. BTW. you are so adorable.
