@@befree3634 I love my hair and I have type 4, but it is annoying to have to put it manipulate it a bit to get it to lay down if it's a certain style I'm going for. It has nothing to do with what white people taught us nor is it a supremacy idea. Unless you have type 4 hair, it's safe to say that you have no clue what you're talking about.
I'm cracking up at "4Z" but yeah, I don't know if my hair will do this either... I'll try though. I get so discouraged doing my own hair these days, its exhausting lol
I tried this, I have this 4c Nigerian hair 😫, and I think my hair is just still too short. It looked good for a bit after I took the scarf off, but it frizzed right up. Tried again with a blow dry to straighten it a bit first... nope. I'll try again in a couple months when I get some more inches lol
I’m Arab, I don’t have your hair type..means I can’t really relate, but for some reason it’s so satisfying to watch your hair videos! You seem so nice and protective with your hair❤️ (Edit: I wrote arabic instead of arab, sorry English is my third language)
Isn't "arabic" the language? Anyway, the original Arabs were African people, so many do have some degree of this hair type. I've visited Egypt and Saudi Arabia and have seen the evidence first hand.
Girrrrllll!! Grim reminder of my senior high school days (1984) we used a good brush, water, a thick pomade(hair grease like Sulfur 8) a good "head tie" (gel for thick hard to tame hair) and sleek bun n kept it moving! We got press (straightening) or very mild kiddie relaxers to tame hair for for Prom and Graduation and never lost the thickness and health of our hair. Happy to see younger ladies taking such awesome care of your beautiful locs! My granddaughter howls at the water grease and head tie chronicles!
Brown Girl yes yes, I graduated in '84 as well and that is how we did it too. All of us girls carried lighters in our purse too because we would take Wet and Wild black liners, stick the pencil tip in the flame, blow it then line our eyes with it. Did you do that too, lol?
Came back to this video because I’m trying to do a good slick back on my natural hair after seeing Isi’s post about being on a billboard in time’s square. So proud of her 🥺💕 She’s come so far
I really love how we have the same hair type, and the fact that I can actually do other things with my hair other than put weave in it and paying someone else for a nice hair due, so I truly thank you for these videos.
This look is gorgeous!!! Just started my naturaI hair journey...I hope my 4b hair gets this long. Thank you for this tutorial, best one yet for 4b/4c hair👍🏽👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Look at that curl/wave pattern. Trust and BELIEVE there are some curl patterns that will NOT lay, not even with 4 jars of Ampro gel. Those b b shots/kookaburrs/naps would NOT lay down. I remember this one chick. We tried everything...everyone in the shop was chipping in. Finally, we pressed her hair, then laid it..for the day. Is it me or did the gel start looking like relaxer😩😩 But you have pulled this off so well😭 I am 100% trying this. I came from a Zolee Griggs video about sleeking down hair and I feel so inspired. P. S she also used the glue
Your channel is the truth. I love how you share the tips and what worked and even the stuff that didn’t - that is so helpful. I’m excited to find a type 4 natural keeping it all the way real
K Mcleod Because thick type 4 hair won't slick down that way. Me being a person with type 4 hair I know about that myself. Trust me just adding the gel won't work at all
Woooooow! I’ve rewatched this at least 5x and I’m amazed! I have type 4 hair and I was convinced my hair would NEVER lay like this! I’m definitely trying this method
I hate when the Eco styler defines my curls when I'm tryna get a sleek look , I'm gonna try the got2b glue and leave it wrapped overnight even tho I'm a rough sleeper 😂 thanks for the vid ❤️
I literally just tried this style and it came out perfect. I always saw girls with their hair pulled back so neat and just thought my hair textured was not as good as theirs to achieve the style. thank you so much for this tutorial, I wished I found it when I was in secondary school. Only thing I did different was I did a middle part instead of a side. Thanks again!
Let me tell you something...you just saved my life! I just combed my locs out that I've had for 11 years, and I couldn't figure out how to pull all this hair back because its so big. I was rocking 2 buns like an 8yr old last week and almost gave up after a week being natural (I had perms my whole life until I started my locs). great video
I feel like this style is wayyy easier on dry hair....I do mine really easy and it comes out sleek. I have a back section and three front sections, . I spray the roots of the back back with water, add my moisturizer(eden bodyworks pudding),add jbco, then my shea butter mix. Then this is the KEY...get one of those $1,$2 shampoo brushes from the bss and brush your hair down. ponytail and repeat for the next section. I only run the shampoo brush through the roots but since the front sleeks all the way over I detangle fully through with the brush. I also use a bristle brush for the very top. I do a curved side part and I only have to add gel to those front sections. That brush really makes the hair smooth. I also like the eco black castor for slicking my hair bc it doesn't dry hard like the argan and it leaves my hair with a lot of shine.
I really needed this! I plan to enlist in the military in a few months and I needed to figure out a right way to pull back my 4b/4c hair and stay in regulations and not take too much time. 💕
I'm so happy I came across this, I have a few Graduation dinners and parties I'm attending this weekend all the way through next week. I'm already going broke from getting all the graduates gifts, so I don't have time to get my hair done. Definitely using this style and going through your videos for more ideas. Thanks again! Couldn't have come across your channel at a better time. Subbed and notifications on! ✨💖😙❤️
Just watched your video and girl, you slayed that hair..I like how you slicked your hair back section by section. Great way to lay thick 4b hair down! Great job!😘✌️

But that’s really hard to qualify. I have between 4b/4c hair that is finely stranded yet coarse by texture. When my hair is straightened it’s very shiny and silky(actually can refract light maybe because it’s dark brown) but in natural state can be dense and sponge like.
It's so annoying that we have to go through all of this JUST to put our hair in a nice ponytail 😂 lol but you gotta love curly hair

usually when water is the first ingredient it’s a higher possibility that it’s going to revert the hair or define it

I thought your hair was 3c but 3c is very close to 4a so I guess it could be considered the same category if you have both 3c and 4a hair.
Stacey Sims hair is loser when wet
yeah it's hard to tell 4a different from 3c, but when it's dry you see the kinks. Wet it looks loose.
😲😲😲😲WTFFFF..... 3C hair is NOTHING like 4 any damn thing!.... People who have 3C hair dont have to struggle to style their damn hair!
@@Mikelle157 I have 3c and I struggle with sleekness 🤷. My hair starts getting frizzy after a few hours. I can only imagine type 4 struggles.
