This is the 5th different vegan cheese sauce I have made in 5 weeks and honestly, this is my favorite. It's much thinner than most of them, but that's what makes it more pourable. Also, it's the easiest. Ever since I started this journey I feel like I spend so much time in the kitchen, preparing and cleaning. I'm tired 😩. Anything that saves me some time is just a great bonus. @@jnex2 Actually, adding the potato flakes is part of what makes it easier. Nothing has to be pre-made. You just throw everything in the blender. I purchased my potato flakes on Amazon. Bob's Red Mill Potato Flakes are excellent. They're kind of expensive but you don't need very much. It should last quite a while.

I made the first recipe and it is BOMB. I love it so much. My 5 year old daughter is very picky and doesn’t try new things but my 10 year old with autism (do he has sensory and sensitivities with food) did and he liked it! FYI I did need to add a little more veggie broth to it because it came out very thick for me. But once it loosened and became more sauce like… it’s amazing.

Finally made this. They didnt have miso paste when I went to the store. Subbed miso soup mix and added a piece of jarred fire roasted peppers. All other ingredients were the same. Deeeeeelicious!!!

My husband, who loves mayo and butter (vegan of course) over his food just told me that your sauce is perfect replacement for mayo over pizza, chilies, tacos and baked potatoes! So here I am thinking I will tweak the recipe to make other flavours, so I'll switch the nooch for more instant mashed spuds and add maybe chili sauce (no oil, low sodium), maybe even a herby one and other flavours!! Just made the larger volume recipe but needed to add waaaaaaay more potato flakes for a less runny consistency. Added pickled jalapeno for nachos and dry basil and mixed it with rigatoni. Yuuuuuuuum! Thank you!

I finally made this sauce and was hoping it would be a hit but found it too sweet, next time I will omit the maple syrup and use half of the lemon juice and give it another try. I have tried a couple of others but still missing something. I love the idea of boxed potatoes though thanks for that ! Your son is so adorable !
Hi Sadgirl Are you sure that you just put 1 tsp of maple syrup/ agave? With that volume, I wonder why it was too sweet with just 1 tsp. Just curious before I make mine. Just double-checking. Of course, everyone’s taste buds are different. And that might be just too much for you. Thanks.
I just watched this video again and she did say a tablespoon of maple syrup or agave! But the recipe says 1 tsp. I guess I need to clarify with her. 1 TBSP would seem like too much for sure. @Hungry Vegan Mama

I made this cheese sauce this evening. I don’t have a Vitamix so I used my trusty NutriBullet and my cheese sauce was smoking when I finished. I was only able to soak my cashews for maybe 15-20 mins but that was fine, they turned out super creamy. Then I don’t buy instant mashed potatoes so I microwaved a small potato and put about 3 T of the soft potato in the sauce. Wow, it needed a little salt but it was really good for vegan cheese sauce. It won’t fool my kids, but if you’re changing over from vegetarian to vegan, and you’re determined. It works as a great substitute. I’m anxious to try the large version. Thanks oh and BTW I didn’t have Miso so it was missing completely. Still stocking my pantry for this big change over to vegan.
imchelseaandiknowit yes go for it. The instant adds a thickness, so it may be a little watery, just keep that in mind. But once you store in the fridge it’ll thicken up.
Not sure you’ll see this comment, but, if you do..what kind of nutritional yeast do you use? And is it flakes or whatever other form it comes in? I hate the taste of it...but your cheese sauce looks SO delicious, I’d like to try it! I’ll probably have to order from Amazon, so any help you could give would be so appreciated! I absolutely love this sauce. However, mine doesn't pour like hers. It's on the thicker side. Wondering if I'm blending too long or I need to add more liquid?
I just made this on my Vitamix, but it had a hard time catching all the ingredients. It seemed to need more liquid. It didn’t come out as smooth as other recipes I tried. 😫
Just did it and it came out great but a little spicy (hot for my taste) - ant suggestion to lessen the heat? I substituted miso wiry Tamari and instant potato with normal one cause I couldn’t find either at my local store
hmmm I'm not sure what is causing the spice. Are you sure you used smoked paprika and not cayenne pepper? I almost did that today because hey look so similar. Not sure where the spice is coming from though.

Your recipes are Great. One question, I noticed ALL the ingredients like the miso, paprika, maple syrup, Tumeric and garlic and onion powder ALL changed from Teaspoon in the first cheese sauce recipe to the exact same numbers But to Tablespoons in the Second recipe. Is this correct or do both recipes use teaspoons in these ingredients? Thanks so much. It's a big difference in these spices from the first to the second recipe so I figured I'd ask. Adding raw cashew butter instead of straight up cashews makes it super smooth and creamy. Absolutely love it.
Make sure not too replace 1/2 of cashews with 1/2 cup of cashew butter - that will be way more calories and fat

Can you use real boiled potatoes instead of the instant? I just already have boiled potatoes on hand all the time
imchelseaandiknowit yes go for it. The instant adds a thickness, so it may be a little watery, just keep that in mind. But once you store in the fridge it’ll thicken up.

I absolutely love this sauce. However, mine doesn't pour like hers. It's on the thicker side. Wondering if I'm blending too long or I need to add more liquid?
When you heat it up add a little more water or veggie broth. This happens with all cheese sauces once out in the fridge.

What can you substitute for the Turmeric? My husband can't have any of that spice.
You can just leave it out. The sauce won’t be as yellow, but I think it’ll still be good.
Did you also use potatoes in the second Cheeze sauce? I missed something.

I just made this on my Vitamix, but it had a hard time catching all the ingredients. It seemed to need more liquid. It didn’t come out as smooth as other recipes I tried. 😫

Just did it and it came out great but a little spicy (hot for my taste) - ant suggestion to lessen the heat? I substituted miso wiry Tamari and instant potato with normal one cause I couldn’t find either at my local store
hmmm I'm not sure what is causing the spice. Are you sure you used smoked paprika and not cayenne pepper? I almost did that today because hey look so similar. Not sure where the spice is coming from though.
You are soooo right, I totally did use pepper instead of the smoked paprika lol. i redid it now (without the pepper) and it is delicious :)

Your recipes are Great. One question, I noticed ALL the ingredients like the miso, paprika, maple syrup, Tumeric and garlic and onion powder ALL changed from Teaspoon in the first cheese sauce recipe to the exact same numbers But to Tablespoons in the Second recipe. Is this correct or do both recipes use teaspoons in these ingredients? Thanks so much. It's a big difference in these spices from the first to the second recipe so I figured I'd ask. Btw, I LOVE your Tahini/soy sauce recipe. Thank you for your great recipes and wonderful channel!
