The scanner used in this video: amzn.to/2G6wc1f Check vehicle coverage from official Autel website: pro.autel.com/measurecar-1-1.html?m=4 Email the seller if you're still not sure if it will work with your car: www.amazon.com/sp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=1&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=&seller=A3L4EDVWFFTZOB&tab=&vasStoreID= *The official statement from Autel is the MxiCheck DOES still support auto bleed. Please be sure to update your scanner to software version 5.07 directly from the Autel website.* Chat log: Hi! How can we help you today?11:43 AM One of us will be with you right away, please wait.11:46 AM Me: Hello, can you please verify either way if Autel recently removed the "auto bleed" from the Autel MaxiCheck Pro ?11:46 AM The ABS brake bleed function is currently only offered on the MX808. The maxicheck pro software has not had brake bleeding for several years11:49 AM Me: Yes it has. I bought one in Feb of this year and I have auto bled my 2006 GMC truck no problem. I even made a youtube video about it and have probably sold 3 or 4 hundred scanners as a result of my youtube video and I have only recently has commenters say that Autel has recently removed this function. What is the true story here?11:51 AM Me: Are you the same TECH person who takes incoming phone calls? Should I call you?11:53 AM I am not on Tech support calls, but I was just trying to find more information on this.12:02 PM Me: I need some sort of official comment from Autel so when I make an updated youtube video about this topic I can give the viewers accurate information. I'm really wondering why the price of the MaxiCheck Pro has went from $175, to $248 in 8 months, but you also removed the most important feature from the device12:05 PM Me: I am going to make a new updated youtube video about this topic and I plan to include this chat transcript in the video so please treat this chat as if you are commenting to 80 thousand people, or more.12:10 PM Me: Are you still there?12:16 PM Yes, I am still awaiting confirmation for this function inquiry .12:18 PM Me: Well, its more than a standard function inquiry, I'm looking for a comment on why the price has went up $75 in 8 months all while removing important functions. Your company is free to price their products however they want, but the public is also free to decide which products they spend their money on. I just want my viewers to have accurate information so they can make good buying decisions.12:23 PM Can you please confirm the system software version for your tool?12:28 PM Me: Lol, it's a maxicheck pro. I updated it from your website when I bought it in Feb of 2018. Whatever software you had on your site in Feb of 2018 is the version I currently have.12:32 PM In order to correctly verify an issue, we need to know what software you have. Our updates are released constantly, so if you have not updated since February, you may have old software.12:36 PM Me: Yes I do have old software from Feb 2018. I am NOT having any problems with my scanner. My scanner performs the auto bleed just fine. Your NEW maxiCheck Pro scanners do NOT do auto bleed according the people commenting on my youtube video recently.12:38 PM Me: This is my youtube video:12:39 PM Me: Sorry, this is my video: ruclips.net/video/fUqmBqYIEAE/видео.html It has over 80 thousand views in 8 months. watch it and then tell me why the new version of this same tool (MaxiCheck Pro) is NOT able to do the same.12:41 PM *I would highly recommend you update and verify for yourself. For this request my supervisor pulled a brand new unit and fully updated this tool to the latest version, 5.07. We went through it together and Automated bleeding is still available.12:45 PM* *I want to apologize for any confusion, but my initial statement that is not available was incorrect.12:46 PM* Me: My video has over 1100 (one thousand, one hundred) comments with MANY people thanking me for the info. Many have said they bought the tool after watching my video and they were able to finally fix their brakes. It wasn’t until the last few days that I have now had people tell me the MaxiCheck Pro no longer performs the auto bleed. People have also told me they have talked on the phone with Autel Tech and the tech department has confirmed the auto bleed function was recently removed...... but yet the price has gone up$75.12:47 PM *Please confirm the tools are all updated properly to version 5.07. If not , there may be some differences12:48 PM* Me: Again, I DO NOT NEED AN UPDATE. My scanner works JUST FINE. It's the viewers of my video who are being told by YOUR TECH department that this function has been removed.12:49 PM *Our technicians have been informed as well12:52 PM* *that this function is indeed supported12:52 PM* Me: If you read the most current comment under my video from yesterday, there is a guy who talked with your tech department and was told this function has been removed from the maxicheck. He did a full update from your site yesterday and it still does not work for him. When was this option re-added back to the software?12:54 PM *The software version 5.07 was released in May12:54 PM* *Please make sure these users are updating tools correctly12:55 PM* *Maxicheck pro should update via SD card with new Maxi PC suite program.12:55 PM* *If update is perform with USB, or with older Autel update program, they may experience software issues12:56 PM* *Me: Okay. Please be sure ALL tech guys who answer your phone calls, or reply to on-line chats know about this. I have told EVERYONE the first thing to do is a full update from your website.12:56 PM* Me: I am going to post this chat log in the video description below my youtube video. I will also include this chat log in the first "pinned" comment in the comment section. RUclips does not allow me to edit the video itself. I will do my best to get this information out to the public, please be sure you do your part on your end.12:57 PM Me: I hope the information you gave me today is accurate, there are a lot of viewers looking for correct information.12:59 PM (End chat) As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Great video, I couldn't help make a comment even though it's old news now. It's funny to me how hung up on the price people get. Not only could it be being sold at different prices by different sellers, especially on Amazon, like you said. Prices fluctuate! Get over it people. Secondly, either your car needs and has "auto bleed" function or it doesn't. If the car computer, like you have said numerous times, doesn't have the function then it can't be activated. So either your car needs this function and it can be done as most manuals will tell you or the car doesn't have this function which means there is another way to go about getting air out of the ABS, ie. normal manual bleeding on "open" systems.
Can you reprogram ABS module with this scanner? We replaced ABS module brand new for $300 and car still not working, after 15 minutes drive ABS light and brake light comes back on and brakes lock on won't let car go over 30mph when turning car off and after cooling ABS and brake light turns off and brake releases
My man. You are the freaking GOAT for this video. I have a 2000 z71 tahoe and needed to get the brake lines done. The shops around me were quoting me $4,000+ for this job. I’m dead serious. So I said fck it. I’m not a potato and have done similar work before so let’s go. Ordered all the parts from rock auto, did all the install, etc and for the love of all things holy could not get the brakes to bleed. Had no idea about the Kelsey Haynes abs module. Did hours of research online. Tried bleeding the nipple on the module, etc. couldn’t get NOTHING going. Finally decided to bite the bullet on ordering a tool. Spent hours watching videos and found yours at like 1:30am on a Tuesday. Bought the tool that night. I literally just went out to the truck 20 mins ago and tried it. Fucking PERFECTLY bled the abs. I HAVE PEDAL NOW. I CAN BLEED THEM NOW. THANK YOU MY GUYYYYYYY This just made a $4000 estimate job be a $1250 job with parts, beer and this tool. You are a LIFESAVER my guy.
The info in the video is still accurate..... However, the scan tool industry has changed since the video was made. There are now many more affordable options available on the market than just the few scan tools that were mentioned in this video. Thank you for the nice comment!
Thank you so much for this video. Back in February my wife's 2000 4 door 4wd blazer blew out the left rear caliper piston seal. The blazer is in such nice shape and all the brake components were old. I went all out and ordered 4 (2 front and 2 rear) calipers, pads, flex brake lines, and slotted and drilled rotors with a black corrosion coating on them. Really good quality not Chinese made in Canada 4 rotors and ceramic pads for $126 shipped to my door. Long story but I replaced everything. I couldn't get anything out of the rear calipers. I tried power bleeding, ect. I ordered the Autel Maxicheck Pro. I got it last week and updated the software and I kept getting an error open circuit when trying to autobleed. My son has a 2002 blazer almost the same. I noticed the his has a 60amp maxi fuse for the ABS and hers is missing. Just got it last year and always had the ABS light on. I put in a new fuse and now it will autobleed. I now have rear brakes that I have not since February and all lights are off on the dash. I tried it on my son's 2002 and it works great too. Thanks again!!
Brian what a blessing it is that you took the time to put out this video. I just replaced my wife’s rear pads, rotors, and calipers; all of which needed changed anyway but I was bleeding the system today and my pedal is still extremely soft. Thank you so much for the information. You are leading me in the right direction. 🙏🏾
Thank you for the kind words. Keep in mind though, this does not replace traditional bleeding, this helps get stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module which can then be traditionally bled out of the system. Thanks again and good luck with your project!
Just tried this out on a 2015 Jeep JKUR manual transmission. ABS brake bleed works like a charm!!! Thank you so much. Buying this scanner is is cheaper than one visit to the dealer where they will inevitably screw up the procedure and still charge you. Thank you!!!!!!
Not always easy to find. I hate how some people try to keep info secret, or the opposite, you check forums and see 50 replies, and 50 different answers on how to do it which leave you more confused than when you started. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
@@Keyno77 Not really. Auto brake bleed isn't the main reason why people buy the maxisys. It has a host of bidirectional controls that this scanner isn't capable of. Key programming, coding etc. Crap-on is raping its customers as is the stealerships. Autel is helping the diy'ers or shade tree mechanics with high end diagnostic bidirectional scanners for under $1000.
Did the brakes on my 05 Silverado Disc/Drum. They felt worse after, manual bled them, bought a similar tool (innova) that my auto parts store had in stock. within 5 minutes, brakes feel better then ever before. Stops on a dime. Pedal feels great. Stoked
Very unique tool, used it on various vehicles like BMW, Toyota, GM and Ford and it always came through for me. If you do your own alignments also, it has the SAS function as well. That was why I bought it and everything else that it does was a bonus. There was a TPMs function but AUTEL stop supporting it for some reason.
My abs hasn't worked since I bought my truck in 2017. Replaced the hubs and just found out that the module works fine. Just ordered an abs unit because one of the wires to the motor broke off. Got the pump motor open circuit. Tried to re-solder but no luck. Enter the Autel MD802 elite. Had this scan tool at least 8 years. Didn't know all the functions because I never needed it. I was wondering how I would be able to bleed the abs unit. Now I know. Thanks again.
I wish I would have seen this video earlier because I took my 2008 Toyota Tacoma to Les Schwab & they told me I would need a new master cylinder so they replaced it charging me 340.00 for the master cylinder plus labor to put it in. I get a call later on saying that my truck is all done & they say the pedal is firm now & I was relieved that they were able to fix it even though I don’t believe the master cylinder was bad I just believe there was trapped air in the abs module. Long story short I was very disappointed with them because the pedal was not firm when I went to go pick it up it would still go to the floor. I had them bleed the brakes again & still that didn’t fix it so they told me only other option would be to change the abs module for a new one. They said they couldn’t say that it would be a for sure thing that it would fix the problem. I left paying for just the master cylinder & still to this day my truck has been sitting because it feels unsafe to drive. I’m glad I seen this video so I will get that tool & fix it myself like I do pretty much all the time anyways I don’t trust repair shops.
It really does suck when a "professional" repair shop is so incompetent that making a propper repair is above their ability.... and they still expect to be paid. lol. Keep in mind this video is almost 6 years old at this point. A lot has changed in the scan tool world since this video was recorded. You can probably get a different scan tool for roughly the same money as the tool in this video, but with a LOT more features and functions. Even a scan tool that will work with your smart device. One place to start is.... Look at the XTOOl A30M. It's roughly the same money as the tool in this video but it's basically a pro level full bidirectional control scan tool. (minus on a few features) The best part is, it's a one-time purchase, then never pay anything again to use it for life. It also includes lifetime free updates. Don't get me wrong, the tool in this video is still relevant, but many other tools have come along over the past 6 years. Check out my XTOOL A30M video here: ruclips.net/video/rpwvihvKbx8/видео.html I have links to the product in the video description and in the first pinned comment below the video. I know exactly how you feel. It's just like the old saying.... "if you want something done right, you better do it yourself". And honesty, that is exactly how/why this video was made in the first place. I figured if I was having this trouble, then countless other people must be having the same brake trouble, too. Good luck with your project. You'll get it.
I actually bought this tool thinking that it would do a different function that I was needing at the time and was a little upset that I had paid $200 for this and had no real use for it... fast forward a year later and I am finding that this is a pretty invaluable tool and I'm so lucky that I bought it!.. and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to use it a lot more in the future as vehicles become more and more equipped with the features that this tool performs
Appears to have worked!! however --u are supposed to “ push and hold” steady pressure on brake with foot- as far as u can get it to the ground.. and it’ll sound louder- the pressure will push out them bubbles and the like of old brake fluid.. might as well use a turkey Baster to pull out of master cylinder reservoir ( if not the best color) and allow that bleed to flush while refilling with the new brake fluid along with the intended air to get out the same end- them go tighten that bleed screw..I know it stated it was complete- though I feel it could of been a better or competent bleed.. good job tho!! Autel MaxiCheck as well as the Bluedriver from Lemur are totally my FAVORITE TOOLS!! U have itself a partial bi-Directional scan tools there bud!! Thanks for video
Thanks for the video. I ordered the Maxi Check Pro and performed the same on my 02 Sierra and the pedal is great. I also used the Master Pro power bleeder and replaced the brake fluid prior to using this tool. Performed the abs activation and re-bled the brakes and that is when I got a full brake pedal. Thanks again for the great video.
Thank you sir. I've been looking everywhere for this. I'm having brake drag and this is the only step I can't do on my own. You are awesome. I will be ordering today.
Walter Daly check if master cylinder piston is coming all the way to return against circlip. I had a Ford f350 front brakes dragged . Dirt rust had prevented piston from returning which opens small hole for fluid to escape when hot . Brakes would get hot and apply them selves after replacing hoses calipers etc.
Grew up turning wrenches. I daily drive an 03 Tahoe with 320k. Just replaced all brake lines, rotors, pads, and calipers... did a normal bleed and had no fluid at any wheel. Checked my proportioning valve, it was working and open... never thought abs would cause this many issues.. abs being air bound was the last thing i can think of, and your clear, confidant video was just what i needed!! Ill post a follow up 👌
Neither computer i borrowed from neighbors had the capabilities... so, with hours of research, i found that if you open mc, and RR bleeder (gravity fed into a bottle) and turn the key as you begin to push down peddle you will trigger the mc to test itself, as you push down while turning key it foeces air out... did that at furthest caliper, then a normal bleed, normal order and i went through 2 qts just working air out.. now i have amazing brakes!! Your video was awesome, didnt help me in the end, bur you put me on the right track and i thank you so much!!
I am glad that it helped... even if only a little bit. Thank you for the original comment and the followup comment. I am happy that you got your vehicle fixed.
Definitely think I need this. Ive had my brakes bled several times. My pedal will be perfect right after then after a week or two it gets soft. Had my master cylinder replaced. It took forever for the shop to get it right. They wanted to replace everything then after 4days at their shop they had me fixed. Now its been 2 weeks pedel is soft again 500.00 dollars later new master cylinder and all. Gotta take back to shop today again. I'M GONNA MENTION THIS PROCESS. WISH ME LUCK
I bought this scanner to ABS auto-bleed a 2001 Honda Accord but cant find menu options... autel said sorry no can do.. bummer. not disappointed though. I can do a lot of stuff. I fixed abs sensors, cleared tcs lights and a few other things... Nice Tool..
Replaced my rusted out brake lines 2006 Sierra crew cab, and ended up with soft pedal, where as it ws high and firm before the brake lines broke. . I suspect air in ABS, and i believe I got all the air out. The rear drum brakes and emergency brake seems adjusted fine. Fixed a problem with the emergency lever on the rear shoe not releasing and binding due to rust seizing.
As prices continue to come down the Foxwel NT630 PLUS is $139.00 at Amazon and does pretty much everything the high doller one's do including bleeding ABS. I would love to buy the dongle you bought but it really is basic without the pricy add ons. I have a Spectrum Dynamic Tuner that I bought back when I built my first racing 99 Tajoe that controls EVERYTHING in the PC. I need to get it and the laptop out and see what it can do. Thanks for the video.
Thank you, I really appreciate the time and effort you took to make this video. Like you I searched for a relatively economical way to do this and as you mentioned there's nothing, anywhere on this particular tool.
After watching this video I ordered the Autel to use on a 2008 Silverado that had air in the ABS module (my fault). For the 2007-2014 the process is a little different, each wheel is done separately, and the brake pedal has to be pumped "rapidly" during the cycle on each wheel with the bleeder valve open. My helper was pumping the brakes while I was under the truck, pumping in time with the ABS cycle, with poor results (a series of small bubbles). I ran another cycle and had him pump the brake pedal as fast as he could, and that cleared the air out of the ABS (we still had to bleed the air out of the lines after the cycle finished).
Owen Somers The process that you talk about doing each wheel can also be done on my 2006..... I didn't do that, but I did see the option to operate each wheel separately. Thanks for the comment. Im glad you got your truck sorted out.
Thank you for this video! i have a Cadillac SRX with a spongee brake pedal and put new master cylinder and no change to the pedal. Also put new rear brake pads with no change. i believe i may have the same symptoms you describe. thanks again.
Fox well NT630 elite ABS and airbag reset tool has auto bleed test automated bleed or service bleed and it removes air from internal brake fluid chamber I got it off eBay for 100 bucks. It’s also good for airbags which was the original reason I purchased it. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks for a Great video, most people are doing reviews that don't teach nothing more than the basics. Here I actually found something that I never knew. If I find more of your videos I'll subscribe
Hey Brian! I purchased the Autel MaxiCheck. I had to change the ABS module. I also discovered that the wheel speed sensor on the driver side was bad. I would not have discovered that without this tool. I replaced the sensor and re-ran the processs. Cleared old codes and then ran the Auto Bleed for my Olds Bravada. It ran the the auto bleed just like your video. I would not have chanced this, if it wan;t for your video. I paid 176.00 for the scanner from Amazon. I had an Autel prior to your video, but it did not have the ABS functionality. Thank you for doing the research! It saved me a ton of money.
I have a foxwell nt 530 which is the orange and black one mentioned in the video. It is awesome. It will do anything the high end scanners will do. The only fault I have to it is you have to download each make of vehicle you want to use it on. You get one free with the purchase but you can download multiple makes on the SD card.
That's funny that you ordered the MC and also the scanner. That's exactly my plan. I have all new brakes, and the mechanic didn't mention that the brakes are mushy. Just handed it back to me. I suspect they didn't bleed the ABS, but I thought it's possible the MC is bad. But, once I get a scanner that will will bleed my ABS, I'll try that first, then if that still fails, I'll do the MC. Thanks very much for the great video. I sent an email to Autel asking them if they have a model that works with my car.
That sounds great.... But just to be clear, you still need to manually bleed after the scan tool auto bleed. You still need to ultimately get the stuck air bubbles out of the bleed screws. The ABS bleed function on a scan tool just gets the stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module and into the brake lines where they can then be bled the traditional way. I only mention this because some people have misunderstood my video and thought the scan tool auto bleed ids the ONLY thing they need to do to get a hard pedal and that is not the case. Thanks for the comment.
I appreciate the further explanation. That does raise a question. Are any of the bleed valves open during the ABS sequence? Or does the scanner just help actuate the ABS to get any bubbles out of the ABS and into the lines? Also, is the key/alternator on during that process? Not the motor, right? I had read that the sequence was : normal bleed, ABS bleed, normal bleed. But that made me wonder why do the first normal bleed. Why not start with the ABS "bleed" then finish up with normal bleed. Thoughts? Another problem for me is that I heard that the tech manual for my car says to raise the rear end up ten to twelve inches higher than the front. That can really be a pain when doing all these bleeds, having to put the front wheels on and off to do all this. I wonder if that statement was more for gravity bleed. It was for dodge/Chrysler. Thanks for your input.
Nice... You are correct. There isn't one video that I've found to auto bleed the ABS unit... Just spent a fortune on my brakes. Calipers, Wheel cylinders, up grade master cylinder, & a remanufactured Kelsey Hayes ABS unit.... I gotta admit that new NBS master conversation really does work... My brake pedal is even better than the new Chevy Tahoe Cad Denali etc... I have a Armitron Autozone... I'm going to purchase that scanner that you have. Thank you for a great video man... 👍
Fantastic video. Having same issue on a 2003 Buick Park Ave. No codes, no warning lights like ABS or Traction Control. If engine is off i have brake pedal resistance. Start engine pedal goes straight to floor with no resistance or back pressure. Also cannot get brake fluid to rear discs. It is exactly the same fix you go through. Thank you and may blessings find you to prosper you.
Yeah, I think the Autel is the same way. If there are other problems with the ABS system, it wants those problems fixed first, before you can gain access to the auto bleed function. My truck was showing an old ABS code... Once I cleared that code from memory, then I was able to successfully complete the auto bleed. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for this video and information! I’m troubleshooting a soft pedal on my 99 Tahoe following a brake upgrade and MC replacement. Guess what I have a scanner!
I’m so glad I found this! Did brakes and calipers on my uncles 06 Colorado and bled bled bled the brakes got a peddle then it would go away! Did the master cylinder! Same problem! So I’m 99% positive air is in the abs system and been looking for a scanner like this! Thank you so much!
Good Morning Brianok100, I do want to get back to you regarding my dilemma with the Autel Maxi Check Scanner, and Auto Bleeding the ABS Module on my Silverado, and Trailblazer. After our communication, I did engage with the Tech Department at Autel, and confirmed that the Autel Unit does come from the factory, without good information to work with, and with their direction, I found the Maxi_PC_Suite_V1.21.zip, which I downloaded, and updated the memory card that came with the new unit. This morning, after connecting the unit to my Silverado, it did come up with good menu options to link to my specific vehicle, which it did, and to my surprise, their were DTC's stored in the computer, that were not detected with another scanner that I have been using. Once clearing those DTC's, the rest of the operation was per your video presentation, and now, after clearing things up in my head, the dilemma with Spongy Brakes, which did not get corrected by the GMC Dealer that I had paid $$$ to bleed my system, a few months back, has now been resolved. The good part here, is that after spending the $$$ for the Autel Scanner, I still have it to use later, verses the $$$ that I spent at the GMC Dealer, that is gone. To be complete, let me add that, once successful with my Silverado, I performed the same exercises with my Trailblazer, and now both vehicles have Good, Solid, Brake Pedals. Thanks again for your followups, and hopefully, this added info from my experiences will help future lookers. Dave
MidwestBikesToTrikes Dave, thank you for taking the time to post your update to this thread. I am glad to hear that you got your questions answered, and your problems solved.
MidwestBikesToTrikes One other thing to keep in mind is that once you run the auto bleed process, you should still manually bleed the air bubbles out of the brake lines. The auto bleed only moves the trapped air bubbles out of the ABS module and into the brake lines. Those bubbles still need to be bled traditionally from the system.
If anyone is watching this in 2022, the info is out about this tools abilities and seems that the manufacturer knows it. The price has gone up to 226 as of 5/16/2022. I did buy it because I just cannot get the air out of the ABS system. I tried the alternate methods OP mentioned and, while they helped pedal feel a little, they were not as successful as one would have hoped.
Hello, Two things..... First, this video is four and a half years old. It's pre-pandemic..... I can't think of a single product that HASN'T gone up in price over the last 4.5 years. Can you? Second, over the last 4.5 years, A LOT MORE scan tool models have hit the market that can also perform the auto bleed process. The particular scan tool in this video is no longer one of the few that can do this. When I made this video, scan tools barely even mentioned their ABS auto bleed capability in the fine print..... then this video hit the internet...... suddenly, the Amazon listing of every scan tool that was capable of performing an ABS auto bleed now mentioned in bold letters in the title of the product listing on Amazon. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the scan tool in this video, but it's no longer the "best" or "cheapest" option. Thanks for your comment.
I am finding I’m going to have to get a new scan tool to run the auto bleed thing as well. I already have two scan tools made by INNOVA. I am looking at yet another made by INNOVA that does the auto bleed thing. The first one is on sale for $200 but of course it’s sold out. The second one is in stock for around $350.
For $350 (roughly, and depending on current price) you can by an OTOFIX D1 Lite which is sold by autel and you will get an Android based full bidirectional control scan tool like the pros use, with two years of free updates. I'm not sure which Innova you're looking at but if you are indeed in the market for a $350 dollar scan tool, the OTOFIX D1 Lite is certainly worth considering. In fact, I just looked, it's currently on a "Deal" for $319 which is exactly what they were selling for on Black Friday. amzn.to/3VDHnDD (Amazon link) My video about the D1 Lite: ruclips.net/video/Iffg15V5sXw/видео.html
Good to know. Have the same truck in two wheel drive. Replaced all lines due to rust thru on one,and can't get them to bleed, even while using a vacuum tool But believe I'll likely opt for an autel 808 for a couple hundred more, to get many more bidirectional functions. Because I also have a suburban ltz that doesn't drive fer poop, especially when hot
An Autel 808 is a great choice. There is a new model coming out called the Autel 900, which I will be doing a review on so if you can wait you might want to consider that new model. It's basically an upgraded 808. It will have an 8" screen instead of a 7" screen, among other new features. Thanks for the comment.
I have Innova 5610. Just found out it will auto bleed... Hook it up recognizes vehicle and scroll to ABS system and find abs service to auto bleed.. $350 and it will live data all functions as well..
This video is making my day! This is my last option. Doing a 1994 for ranger. Replaced master cylinder and all brake system pretty much. No one says this needs to be done!
This scanner will NOT plug into a 1994 vehicle. Vehicles in the USA 1995 and older are considered OBD1, the Autel scanner in this video is for 1996 or newer OBD2 vehicles.
Thank You! I have a 1996 GMC K2500 with a soft pedal. Bleeding never fixed it. I used your link and discount (thanks!!) and ordered. I will report back with my results.
Thank you..... but keep in mind, the auto bleed process does NOT replace manual bleeding. It is simply a way to get trapped air out of the ABS module, which can remain stuck there during the traditional bleeding process. To properly remove all air from the brake system, you'll still need to manual bleed after the auto bleed. In my case, I did it several times but I also used a Motive power bleeder. It went like this: traditional bleed (or power bleed) as much as possible to get 99% of air out of system, then run a few auto bleed cycles with Maxicheck, then manual (or power) bleed again and keep an eye on bubbles leaving the bleeders, then run another cycle or two of auto bleed, then manual bleed, etc, etc..... do this until no more air bubbles leave the bleeders. Good luck and thanks for the comment.
@@SlipFitGarage Thank you. All great advice and much appreciated! My Motive power bleeder arrived yesterday. I played with Autel today, but it does not list my truck's "5 th Vin digit" which Autel asks for. My fifth is "K" (1996 K2500 GMC Suburban). I did not upgrade the software, but will try that next and try again. Phone call to Autel prior to purchase said it supported my model year truck.
Thank you so much for this video and the excellent information! I just ordered one today (12/29/2019) with Amazon Prime for $195 delivered to Ohio. I'm going to use it to do the ABS pump bleed on a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 after having replaced the rusted out brake lines. Can't wait to use it!
@@SlipFitGarage This scanner works great! It came out if the box with the latest version of software, so no update was needed. I like that it comes in its own plastic case for protection. Made the ABS bleeding process a piece of cake!
I found out that my rear rotor/drum on my 99 sierra rear right side got eating almost gone, did new drill/slotted rotors, pads n repair caliper seal kit too but the brake pedal still goes down to the floor not hold pressure. I have a actron scan tool I will try this method if the scan tool have that option. I just order a master cylinder from rockauto too...
Thank you.. I had to changes the right rear rotor, brake pads and capillary change out. I'm have trouble with every little pressure at the right rear capillary.. just like you my brake pedal gose to the floor and no brakes at all on my 2002 chevy trailblazer
GREAT video! I have other scan tools but I will be getting this one this week. Could never bleed my ABS brakes on my '05 Chevy Silverado 1500 and knew I needed it done with a scan tool. Never thought there would be one this cheap that could do it. New sub!
Where do u think that air is going if you don't have a bleeder open? I was told a scanner would tell you which wheel bleeder to open and which to open next.
But you DO need to open thew bleed screws. I never said you DON'T. You didn't finish watching/listening the video or read the video description, or the hundreds of my replies in this comment section. The air goes out of the bleed screws. There is no magic going on here. As far as telling you which screw to open, that depends 100% on the year/make/model of the vehicle that you're plugged into. It's the vehicles computer that is actually running the auto bleed service, the scan tool is only sending the command. So, depending what the software engineers programmed into the vehicles computer from the factory that will determine how it functions. Some make/models of vehicles don't even have the auto bleed function to begin with so in that case there is nothing for the scan tool to command. Do some reading between the video description and my many replies here in this comment section and you'll probably find the answers to all your questions..... or at least give you a really good idea of what is happening. Thanks
After searching awhile I found that the Ilink 400 & 450 and the Autel 802 & 805 will also do brake bleed for under $200. There's also an Autel brake scan tool that works. You'd have to check on your vehicle's compatibility.
Amazing!! This low pedal after any brake work (ANY) is a plague to Toyota DIY'ers. Discussed much on Toyota forums, it is a mystery WHY a low brake pedal should appear after simply replacing pads. A few guys even went so far as to replace the ABS unit. Is the scan tool Toyota compatible?
This is an OBD2 scan tool. It is designed to work on all OBD2 vehicles. OBD2 became federally mandated on ALL vehicles that are sold in the USA from 1996 and newer. So yes, it is designed to work with 1996 and newer Toyota's. However, not all vehicles have the same capabilities. Your vehicle has to have the auto bleed feature programmed into the vehicles computer from the factory..... then this scan tool is simply sending the command to run that feature. So, if your Toyota is newer than 1996 and it has the ability to run an auto bleed, then this tool SHOULD be able to request (command) that feature. And just to be clear, running the auto bleed is not magic. You still need to finish bleeding the air out of the system by bleeding the brakes the tradition way. The auto bleed is only getting the stuck air bubbles OUT of the ABS module and into the brake lines where the bubbles can then be bled the traditional way. On a side note about your Toyota comment.... How is air getting into the brake system when simply changing brake pads? The auto bleed feature ONLY deals with stuck air bubbles.... if the brake problems you're having with Toyota's is not caused by air bubbles then the Auto bleed feature probably won't do you any good. Thanks for the question.
@brianok100 ...thx much for the informative reply. You posed the million dollar question experienced by many Toyota DIY'ers. "I only did the pads," is the common exasperation. Yet, there it is. Half brake pedal afterwards. Everyone scratches their heads, saying it makes no sense. So, we all begin shotgunning with calipers, rotors, master cylinder...NO DIFFERENCE. The problem is common on Rav4s. One guy said he replaced the ABS module without a bleed, and got his high pedal back. I highly suspect this is a technical ABS issue known only to Toyota engineers. Guess I'll buy the tool next.
You're welcome. I am still wondering what is happening with these Toyota's. If you find out more information, please feel free to reply back here to let us know if/when you discover the root of the problem. One last thing.... This video is almost 6 years old at this point. At one time, this was probably the best way to accomplish an "auto bleed" for a DIY mechanic. However, a LOT of things have changed in the scan tool world since this video was made and there are now many consumer grade scan tools now capable of performing an auto bleed. The scan tool in this video is still good, but it's no longer the only option for DIY'ers. Do some research before you buy a scan tool for doing auto bleeds.... There may be better options out there that will fit your needs better for roughly the same price, or just a little but more. (You can get a full bidirectional control scan tool these days for not much more than the tool in this video) Again, thanks for the comment!
I had bought an Autel 908 a few years ago. I asked if the tool times out after a year and quits working. I was told no. Wrong. It did time out. I sold it, bought an OTC Encore. It doesnt time out. I dont do a lot of diag work so seeing newer vehicles here isnt very often. I will probably update it this year or early next year.
Lol, we're talking about a video from over 5 years ago. That scan tool MORE than paid for itself. Sure, I was technically into the scanner for $175 but I used it for several more repairs after this video was made..... It was great for a guy like myself who does all his own work. It may not be so great for a person who rarely, if ever works on their own vehicles..... but those people probably are not watching this video. lol. Thanks for the comment.
Bradley Hill I can't guarantee that this works on every vehicle. Do a Google search for your make and model to see if this is something that will work on your car. Good luck with your project. Thanks for the comment.
Ok, I'm having the same problem with my 2001 GMC Sierra truck. I put all new calipers and master cylinder and can't for the life of me get rid of the air. It has to be my ABS module. Where can I get one, LOL Thanks for the video!
I purchased the Autel MaxiCheck Scanner yesterday, and am a bit confused in trying to Identify my particular vehicle. Brianok100 I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4, and a 2003 Trailblazer LTZ 4x4. The menu system comes up with "Please Select the Fifth VIN Digit", but is very confusing with what options are available. Call me dumb? | It could be a bit more specific? At the last page that I attempted to work with, it comes up with a list of instructions like: "Attach The Bleeder Ball", and "Open the RF Bleed Screw" as the final instruction, which does not come close to your video presentation. In the video, the only actions aside from connecting to the OBDII Connection, is to work with the pedal itself. I understand Bleeding The System, once the ABS Bleeding is done, but only when I want to get to it, not as a function that is part of this actual ABS procedure. Brianok100, your video was fantastic, and surpasses any of the other ones that are linked to the same issue. You are to be commended for your dedication to details, and offering them to the open public for viewing. Would it be possible for you to send a little more detail, concerning identifying the vehicle (in the scanner), being worked on? ie. going through the menu system with a little more detail. Thanks ever so much for your support, Dave
MidwestBikesToTrikes Hi Dave. Do you have the most current updates in your scanner firmware from the autel website? If not I would start there. Every make and model is different. The menu options in my video represent the options that are available in my vehicle's ECM. The scanner will only display what the ECM in the vehicle allows. When you connect the scanner, it checks to see what options are in your vehicles ECM, then displays those menu options. It's not the scanner that runs the auto bleed, (for example) the scanner is only commanding an option that is already programmed into the vehicle ECM. So for example, if a vehicle ECM does not have the auto bleed option already programmed from the factory, then this scanner will not display that as an option. Keep in mind, I am not a professional mechanic. I am just a guy who had a problem with my personal vehicle and found a solution. I had trouble finding the answers I was looking for on the internet and I figured there may be other people in the same situation as me so that's why I made this video. I am by no means an expert in Autel OBD2 scanners. I wish I had more specific answers to your questions but unfortunately I do not. Thank you for the nice comment on my video. I hope you find the answers to your questions. Good luck with your project.
Thanks for getting back to me. What I am confused about is getting the scanner linked to my vehicle itself. as I proceed through the menu, it is asking to pick from a menu of options that are not clear in definition. I am looking into updating the scanner now, with the latest software, and will work from that point, for sure. Example of my first question for a 2001 GM Silverado 1500 4x4: Menu Page: Vehicle Type: Options: 1 Passenger Car | 2 LD, TRK, MPV, Incomplete | 3 Medium Duty Truck | 4 Saturn I picked 2 ? Menu Page: Vehicle Type: Options: 1 Body | 2 Chassis I picked 2 ? Menu Page: "Please Select The Fifth VIN Digit" Options: 1 A | 2 B | 3 E | 4 H | 5 J | 6 U | 7 X Digit = Number, or Letter? My VIN = 2GCEK19T611... | My 5th Digit, a Letter is K, which is not an available option to choose | My 5th number is 1, which is not an option either. Call me stupid?, am I supposed to pick the 5th option (Letter J) on the menu?
Nice video. Luckily, my auto club has the upscale scanner. I've been researching this for my F150 for some time now, and fo others, this is an informative vid . Nice to see that GM can self bleed without pulling the wheels and bleeding the old fashioned way... or did you skip that part? Not being negative, just that others had me pulling wheels and opening bleeders, pumping the pedal and all. Thanks again!
No, no..... This does NOT replace traditional bleeding. The trapped air does not magically disappear by itself. You still need to bleed the "old fashioned way" to actually get the air out of the system. The auto bleed process is for getting the stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module and into the brake lines where the bubbles can then be bleed the traditional way. It's been 6 years since I made this video so I can't remember every word that I said, but I'm pretty sure I talk about "auto bleeding, then traditional bleeding" and doing that process several times before all the air was gone. Did you watch (listen) to the entire video? I have also typed over 100 detailed replies in this comment section just like the reply I am typing now.... Also, I am pretty sure I have included this info in the video description, too. Do some reading here in the comment section. You'll get a lot of good information in this comment section. Thanks for the compliment and thanks for the comment. Good luck on your project.
Thank you for posting this video!!! I'll be doing all new SS brake lines on my 01 sierra 1500 this week and wasn't sure how I was going to bleed the ABS system by myself. I'll be ordering one of these scanners right now!
Received my Maxicheck pro yesterday and just tried it out now and the scanner wouldn't properly read my truck ( 2001 gmc sierra 1500 ) to perform the ABS module test... Not sure why it couldn't properly read my truck. I was starting to get worried but all I had to do was pick a 2004 gmc sierra 1500 and IT WORKED!!! so if anyone is having the same issue I did just try selecting a different year for your truck and hopefully it will work for you like it did for me
@@Juancarlos-wz7nj I can't say for sure that it'll work on a 03 Astro but personally I don't see why it wouldn't. Wish I had a more concrete answer for you.
I own a maxi check pro, and it will bleed the brakes on my 2008 gmc sierra. It will bleed the brakes on my 2006 impala , but it says it is not compatible for my 2003 ford taurus? Cherish any help or advice.
I finally got that Autel scan tool through Amazon to try the auto bleed on my 97 GMC C1500 but it's a no go for the auto bleed, it seems when it comes to GM trucks the auto bleed feature only works from 98 and newer but when selecting 97 there is no auto bleed function. I tried selecting 98 just to see what would happen but when I try to send the auto bleed command the scanner shows there is no communication back from the vehicle as if that function does not exist but that's what I figured at that point. I have a 98 K2500 Chevy and tried the auto bleed function on it just to try it and it works. I'll definitely keep that scanner, it has a lot of useful features.
Thank you for posting this. I have received many questions asking if this would work on certain vehicles and honestly, I only know about my 2006 GMC truck, which is my truck in the video. I have tried explaining in some of my replies that if the vehicle's ECM (computer) isn't programmed with an auto bleed function, then this scanner can not force the vehicle to perform the auto bleed. The scanner is only commanding the auto bleed function, it's the vehicle's ECM that actually does the job. With that said, I do not know which vehicles are capable and/or not capable of performing an auto bleed. This Autel scanner is for OBDII vehicles, which is anything 1996 or newer.... but that doesn't mean every 1996 or newer vehicle was programmed to perform an auto bleed. In basic terms, this scanner is capable of commanding an auto bleed, but if the computer in your vehicle doesn't know what to to with that command then nothing will happen. Thanks again for posting! Based on your post I now know that GM trucks 1998 or newer should be able to perform an auto bleed.
@ourworlds atwar Correct. You first run the auto bleed with the scan tool, then the brakes still need to be bled traditionally. The auto bleed does NOT replace manual bleeding, it only helps to get the trapped air out of the ABS module and into the brake line where it can then be bled the traditional way.
I can’t wait to try this out. Not happy with “brake experts” selling master brake cylinders as slam- dunk fix for all brake problems only to learn the MBCwasn’t bad after all: or, no knowledge of abs ills (brake pedal sinking to floor, but will gladly ask for $1500 - $2000 to replace the old abs. Will get back to you with results of the maxiPro
Yep Autel has great software, of course back door borrowed from 'official sources'. Foxwell and Actron good ok. I run most factory and high end scan tools for the in-depth I require them for, but I have many of these dedicated for specific tasks, tpms, bleeds etc on obscure models etc. Worth the small price. Of course what doesn't come with them is the wisdom and knowledge to know what, why, where and how!
The easiest way is to find a paddock and get up to speed and slam on the breaks gets the abs to pulsate and self bleeds, just do it half a dozen times , It works I've done it heaps of times.
A paddock??? I did mention that option in the video.... But not everybody wants to do it that way. ABS module bleeding is NOT the last step in the bleeding process. Sure, you can go out a slam on the brakes hoping to get the ABS to cycle, then pull it into the shop and manually finish bleeding the air out of the bleed screws. But you might have o do this process more than once. I'd rather just bleed the ABS module the way the manufacturer intended, with a scan tool. It might take several ABS cycles to move all the air from the ABS module and out into the brakes lines, where they still need to be bled the traditional way. How many times can person drive the vehicle while slamming on the brakes, then pull the car into the shop, jack it up, remove the wheels, manually bleed the brakes, put the wheels back on, drive the car again to see if the brakes still have air..... do that entire process 2,3, maybe 4 times to finish removing all the air. I wouldn't exactly call that "the easiest way". It may be the "cheapest way but it's far from the easiest, imo anyway. Cycling the ABS pump with a scan tool IS the easiest way.
Just remember, this DOES NOT replace traditional air bleeding. It simply helps to get the stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module where they can be bled out of the system via the tradition way. Please see video description and/or multiple comments here in the comment section for more info, if needed. Also, just to be clear, this video is over 5 years old now.... At this point in time, there are much better options on the scan tool market to get this job done nowadays. For example, check out the XTOOL A30M scan tool that can be use with your existing smart device. Thanks!
@@SlipFitGarage Thanks for the reply. I just got the tool. It's pretty cool. I installed new hubs and rotors on my truck last year and may have not got the wheel sensors set right as it's got a code for both. I'll check them out. I use this with my 2017 too in case I get a DPF code. I tried a Bluetooth one with my wifes Yukon and it didn't work too good.
@@SlipFitGarage Cleared the codes since I replace the new hubs, did the ABS brake bleed and the pedal is to the top now. Gonna rebleed the system and hit it one more time on the ABS bleed and it should be tip top!
@@SlipFitGarage I questioned that at first too--but by about the 3rd noise sequence with same pedal movement--I figured it was probably the system moving the pedal and not you. Thanks for the good info!

Hi! How can we help you today?11:43 AM
One of us will be with you right away, please wait.11:46 AM
Me: Hello, can you please verify either way if Autel recently removed the "auto bleed" from the Autel MaxiCheck Pro ?11:46 AM
The ABS brake bleed function is currently only offered on the MX808. The maxicheck pro software has not had brake bleeding for several years11:49 AM
Me: Yes it has. I bought one in Feb of this year and I have auto bled my 2006 GMC truck no problem. I even made a youtube video about it and have probably sold 3 or 4 hundred scanners as a result of my youtube video and I have only recently has commenters say that Autel has recently removed this function. What is the true story here?11:51 AM
Me: Are you the same TECH person who takes incoming phone calls? Should I call you?11:53 AM
I am not on Tech support calls, but I was just trying to find more information on this.12:02 PM
Me: I need some sort of official comment from Autel so when I make an updated youtube video about this topic I can give the viewers accurate information. I'm really wondering why the price of the MaxiCheck Pro has went from $175, to $248 in 8 months, but you also removed the most important feature from the device12:05 PM
Me: I am going to make a new updated youtube video about this topic and I plan to include this chat transcript in the video so please treat this chat as if you are commenting to 80 thousand people, or more.12:10 PM
Me: Are you still there?12:16 PM
Yes, I am still awaiting confirmation for this function inquiry .12:18 PM
Me: Well, its more than a standard function inquiry, I'm looking for a comment on why the price has went up $75 in 8 months all while removing important functions. Your company is free to price their products however they want, but the public is also free to decide which products they spend their money on. I just want my viewers to have accurate information so they can make good buying decisions.12:23 PM
Can you please confirm the system software version for your tool?12:28 PM
Me: Lol, it's a maxicheck pro. I updated it from your website when I bought it in Feb of 2018. Whatever software you had on your site in Feb of 2018 is the version I currently have.12:32 PM
In order to correctly verify an issue, we need to know what software you have. Our updates are released constantly, so if you have not updated since February, you may have old software.12:36 PM
Me: Yes I do have old software from Feb 2018. I am NOT having any problems with my scanner. My scanner performs the auto bleed just fine. Your NEW maxiCheck Pro scanners do NOT do auto bleed according the people commenting on my youtube video recently.12:38 PM
Me: This is my youtube video:12:39 PM
Me: Sorry, this is my video: ruclips.net/video/fUqmBqYIEAE/видео.html It has over 80 thousand views in 8 months. watch it and then tell me why the new version of this same tool (MaxiCheck Pro) is NOT able to do the same.12:41 PM
*I would highly recommend you update and verify for yourself. For this request my supervisor pulled a brand new unit and fully updated this tool to the latest version, 5.07. We went through it together and Automated bleeding is still available.12:45 PM*
*I want to apologize for any confusion, but my initial statement that is not available was incorrect.12:46 PM*
Me: My video has over 1100 (one thousand, one hundred) comments with MANY people thanking me for the info. Many have said they bought the tool after watching my video and they were able to finally fix their brakes. It wasn’t until the last few days that I have now had people tell me the MaxiCheck Pro no longer performs the auto bleed. People have also told me they have talked on the phone with Autel Tech and the tech department has confirmed the auto bleed function was recently removed...... but yet the price has gone up$75.12:47 PM
*Please confirm the tools are all updated properly to version 5.07. If not , there may be some differences12:48 PM*
Me: Again, I DO NOT NEED AN UPDATE. My scanner works JUST FINE. It's the viewers of my video who are being told by YOUR TECH department that this function has been removed.12:49 PM
*Our technicians have been informed as well12:52 PM*
*that this function is indeed supported12:52 PM*
Me: If you read the most current comment under my video from yesterday, there is a guy who talked with your tech department and was told this function has been removed from the maxicheck. He did a full update from your site yesterday and it still does not work for him. When was this option re-added back to the software?12:54 PM
*The software version 5.07 was released in May12:54 PM*
*Please make sure these users are updating tools correctly12:55 PM*
*Maxicheck pro should update via SD card with new Maxi PC suite program.12:55 PM*
*If update is perform with USB, or with older Autel update program, they may experience software issues12:56 PM*
*Me: Okay. Please be sure ALL tech guys who answer your phone calls, or reply to on-line chats know about this. I have told EVERYONE the first thing to do is a full update from your website.12:56 PM*
Me: I am going to post this chat log in the video description below my youtube video. I will also include this chat log in the first "pinned" comment in the comment section. RUclips does not allow me to edit the video itself. I will do my best to get this information out to the public, please be sure you do your part on your end.12:57 PM
Me: I hope the information you gave me today is accurate, there are a lot of viewers looking for correct information.12:59 PM

Was your pedal sinking after you bleed your calipers?
Is that why you had to auto bleed the abs?
We replaced ABS module brand new for $300 and car still not working, after 15 minutes drive ABS light and brake light comes back on and brakes lock on won't let car go over 30mph when turning car off and after cooling ABS and brake light turns off and brake releases
the amazon 20% off code is not working anymore. Can you help?
THANK YOU MY GUYYYYYYY
This just made a $4000 estimate job be a $1250 job with parts, beer and this tool. You are a LIFESAVER my guy.
Awesome! I am so glad he video helped you out. Thank you for taking the time to leave a nice comment!
6 years later and your info is phenomenal. Thanks
The info in the video is still accurate..... However, the scan tool industry has changed since the video was made. There are now many more affordable options available on the market than just the few scan tools that were mentioned in this video. Thank you for the nice comment!
About to pull the trigger on this
Thank you so much for this video.

Sometimes, in that era of GM vehicle, a relay in the ABS module wears out and can keep the module from turning off, unless you remove the fuse.
@@ednutter7653 where are the fuses for the abs module typically located?
Brian what a blessing it is that you took the time to put out this video. I just replaced my wife’s rear pads, rotors, and calipers; all of which needed changed anyway but I was bleeding the system today and my pedal is still extremely soft. Thank you so much for the information. You are leading me in the right direction. 🙏🏾
Thank you for the kind words. Keep in mind though, this does not replace traditional bleeding, this helps get stuck air bubbles out of the ABS module which can then be traditionally bled out of the system. Thanks again and good luck with your project!

Check out my XTOOL A30M video here: ruclips.net/video/rpwvihvKbx8/видео.html
I have links to the product in the video description and in the first pinned comment below the video.
You get it fixed yet brokie?
Thank you! No one ever says anything about the auto bleed capability. Great help!!!
Thats good to hear that eventually the new scan tool came in handy. Thanks for the comment. 🙂
Appears to have worked!!
however --u are supposed to “
push and hold” steady pressure on brake with foot- as far as u can get it to the ground.. and it’ll sound louder- the pressure will push out them bubbles and the like of old brake fluid.. might as well use a turkey Baster to pull out of master cylinder reservoir ( if not the best color) and allow that bleed to flush while refilling with the new brake fluid along with the intended air to get out the same end- them go tighten that bleed screw..I know it stated it was complete- though I feel it could of been a better or competent bleed.. good job tho!! Autel MaxiCheck as well as the Bluedriver from Lemur are totally my FAVORITE TOOLS!! U have itself a partial bi-Directional scan tools there bud!! Thanks for video
I was thinking the same Brian read the scanner out loud as "push and hold" then proceeded to pump the brakes, I'm like -?-
Thanks for the video.
That is great to hear. Thank you for posting your comment. 🙂
Did you have to have the car on ?
Finally found someone that knows what is going on👍 thank you from east australia
Thank you, Sir for the nice comment!
Man you are an absolute hero for this. Having the same issue. I had this scammer for a while. I had no idea it can do this.
Garrett Mitcham same here. Didn’t even dawn on me the abs.
I hope they get your truck figured out for you. Thanks for the comment.
I bought this scanner to ABS auto-bleed a 2001 Honda Accord but cant find menu options... autel said sorry no can do.. bummer. not disappointed though. I can do a lot of stuff. I fixed abs sensors, cleared tcs lights and a few other things... Nice Tool..
Oh no.. that's what I wanted it for
OpenSesame001 maybe you have update to new version
Replaced my rusted out brake lines 2006 Sierra crew cab, and ended up with soft pedal, where as it ws high and firm before the brake lines broke. . I suspect air in ABS, and i believe I got all the air out. The rear drum brakes and emergency brake seems adjusted fine. Fixed a problem with the emergency lever on the rear shoe not releasing and binding due to rust seizing.
Never thought to check that. Thank you
Dam you. You did such a good review that the company up the price from $175 to $226. Must not be junk if the price is going up.
I got one off Ebay for 150 shipped

Thank you, I really appreciate the time and effort you took to make this video.
Like you I searched for a relatively economical way to do this and as you mentioned there's nothing, anywhere on this particular tool.
Glad it was helpful!
Owen Somers
The process that you talk about doing each wheel can also be done on my 2006.....

Thank you, Thomas! I am glad your repair went well. Thanks for posting your positive experience here for everyone to read!
If these things are still available, I reckon I'll buy one for my dad so he'll stop taking my BMW scanner thinking it will work on his Dodge's.
I just got my tool today and I bleed the breaks 3 times and work very good thanks, got it on eBay $170
Does that work when you need to do a large bleed like when you replace the abs module?
Did it work for you by any chance?
I have a foxwell nt 530 which is the orange and black one mentioned in the video. It is awesome. It will do anything the high end scanners will do. The only fault I have to it is you have to download each make of vehicle you want to use it on. You get one free with the purchase but you can download multiple makes on the SD card.
They're $200 on Amazon now. Late summer 2019.
Price has dropped $172 on Amazon as of 9/2/2019, so I finally broke down and bought this unit. :-) Not sure how long it will be at that level though.
the MX 808 for my Scion is $535 ($
298 on Amazon) as of today!!
Thanks for that.. really no one have done such video informative like this.
Good work.. thanks again
Gotta do this with my truck, good thing we got a scan tool at work 😂
Good information to have, now I'm going to check my scanner to see if it has this feature. . Thank you.

Excellent solution to an expensive problem! Thanks
Thank you for the nice comment. I hope you get your Buick all fixed up. 🙂
I have the foxwell. It does the same thing.Problem is, if there are any malfunctions in the system, it won't work.

Good Morning Brianok100,
I do want to get back to you regarding my dilemma with the Autel Maxi Check Scanner, and Auto Bleeding the ABS Module on my Silverado, and Trailblazer.

Dave, thank you for taking the time to post your update to this thread. I am glad to hear that you got your questions answered, and your problems solved.
MidwestBikesToTrikes
One other thing to keep in mind is that once you run the auto bleed process, you should still manually bleed the air bubbles out of the brake lines.
I tried the alternate methods OP mentioned and, while they helped pedal feel a little, they were not as
successful as one would have hoped.
Awesome ! I'll be looking for this on Amazon. Thanks for sharing.
Foxwell is a great diagnostic unit. I own their older NT510 and still use it on my Land Rover and BMW.

This is a good video, and thank you for taking the time to explain just how you bled the brakes.
Thanks for the comment!
Good to know. Have the same truck in two wheel drive. Replaced all lines due to rust thru on one,and can't get them to bleed, even while using a vacuum tool
But believe I'll likely opt for an autel 808 for a couple hundred more, to get many more bidirectional functions.

Yes,excelent video,thanks a lot for sharing
Lol. You're still into the scanner for $175. You just saved $100 by not needing the master cylinder. Good video none the less.
Dude thanks stuck for 2 weeks with a down ford fission i hope it will work but this gives me hope since im broke.

I can't guarantee that this works on every vehicle. Do a Google search for your make and model to see if this is something that will work on your car. Good luck with your project. Thanks for the comment.
Just ordered one of these, hopefully it will work for my application! Thank you for posting this info!
UPDATE: It worked perfectly on a 2016 Corvette! Thanks!
Ok, I'm having the same problem with my 2001 GMC Sierra truck. I put all new calipers and master cylinder and can't for the life of me get rid of the air. It has to be my ABS module. Where can I get one, LOL Thanks for the video!
I got mine on Amazon. See the links at the top of this comment section. Thank you and good luck with your truck
I purchased the Autel MaxiCheck Scanner yesterday, and am a bit confused in trying to Identify my particular vehicle.
Brianok100
I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4, and a 2003 Trailblazer LTZ 4x4.
Thanks ever so much for your support,
Dave
MidwestBikesToTrikes
Hi Dave.
Example of my first question for a 2001 GM Silverado 1500 4x4:
Menu Page: Vehicle Type:
Options: 1 Passenger Car | 2 LD, TRK, MPV, Incomplete | 3 Medium Duty Truck | 4 Saturn
I picked 2 ?
Menu Page: Vehicle Type:
Options: 1 Body | 2 Chassis
I picked 2 ?
Menu Page: "Please Select The Fifth VIN Digit"
Options: 1 A | 2 B | 3 E | 4 H | 5 J | 6 U | 7 X
Digit = Number, or Letter?
I was starting to get worried but all I had to do was pick a 2004 gmc sierra 1500 and IT WORKED!!! so if anyone is having the same issue I did just try selecting a different year for your truck and hopefully it will work for you like it did for me
@@creedux do u know if this work on 03 astro rear wheel drive?
I do not work on a 97 Tahoe’s my tahoe the 5th vin letter is k and on the tool there is no letter k option
a 97 should be old enough to do a manual bleed. I was able to it on a 99
John Leibensperger service manuals specifically state to perform “3 function tests with a GM tech 1 or equivalent.”
@ourworlds atwar
Correct.
Thanks was just thinking of taking mine to the dealer but that tool is half what they will charge me
I just ordered one to do my 2003 silverado. Never seen anything on this till. I did order a master cylinder so we will see.
@@RC4X4 Sounds like it's working pretty good for you, that's great. Thank you for the update!
@@SlipFitGarage Cleared the codes since I replace the new hubs, did the ABS brake bleed and the pedal is to the top now. Gonna rebleed the system and hit it one more time on the ABS bleed and it should be tip top!
Maxicheck Pro works on my Lexus GS300 1999 to bleed the ABS, saves a trip to the dealers.
Thank you for the comment. 🙂
apply and HOLD brake . proceeds with pumping brake :). Nice video, good to know . Thanks
I didn't pump the pedal.... The pedal was moving under my foot. I was holding pressure down the entire time.
@@SlipFitGarage I questioned that at first too--but by about the 3rd noise sequence with same pedal movement--I figured it was probably the system moving the pedal and not you. Thanks for the good info!
I ordered one promo code still works!
Awesome! Good to hear. Thanks for the comment.
