The skinny kid who he turned into one of the world’s greatest. To be happy for him, knowing he deserved it after all the dedication. Pride and love. As a Portuguese national, I gotta say, we owe Sir Alex a great deal. Not just because of the 2016 Eurocup, but because of the nearly 2 decades of good results Portugal has had since 2004. He was the right mentor for both Nani and CR7, these two geniuses were two key pieces for all the knockout appearances we've amassed in these years. Imagine if instead he had gone to LFC to be coached by Houllier, or to Barça to be coached by Rijkaard, all due respect to these coaches, but Ronaldo would have been a different player.

Football is the one thing that makes us proud and keeps our nation united once every two years. It's "just" football, but it probably means more to us than it means to you.

I played football in high school and one day I saw my old coach in a Wal Mart and instinctively I yelled “COACH!” From across the aisle and he, like SAF in the video had the biggest smile on his face as I walked over to him. Once a coach and mentor always one.
