Love your video! I've a question on about funding for the undergraduate degree then transitioning into medicine as this was my goal too! I know Student Finance England will be able to fund for biomed as a first undergraduate degree but I've read around that usually if you go on to do another degree they wont cover it? Is it different for graduate entry medicine or undergraduate entry medicine?
Thank you! Generally, SFE doesn't provide funding for a second undergraduate degree if you already have a degree. However, graduate entry medicine courses can receive partial funding towards their tuition fees
@ i’ve watched your other videos last year and if i recall you did manage to enter GEM was it? im aware it’s a much competitive field to enter but not impossible! im just always worried when it comes to money and funding but that’s good to know if you receive partial funding for graduate entry
Check this link for the accredited universities and I have more useful information in the description box. www.ibms.org/resources/documents/ibms-accredited-undergraduate-degree-coursesa/ Oh no, A-Levels can be quite daunting. Try and not worry (I know this is so hard). I hope everything goes well ✨
No worries! You can probably find a university that accepts just A-Level Biology. To widen your university choices, it’s preferable to have at least two science-based subjects e.g. A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths.
@@LifeofHelena are you able to talk more about funding? I'm in my final year of Biomed and wanted to then study medicine. I'm just confused about how I can fund the course?

I’m thinking to do the Physician Associate masters after, so very confused whether it’s better off not spending an extra year but thinking it’d be good backup? Do you have any advice please 😭 Thanks
Hey, I didn't do a placement year at university. I did the standard 3 years Biomedical Science degree. I got accepted to medical school once I was about to start my portfolio, so I didn't end up going ahead. In terms of whether to study MSc Physician Associate or not, I think it depends on the career path you want to go down. Physician Associate degree has more clinical placement exposure, face to face contact with patients and Biomedical Science is laboratory-based. Do you know what you prefer? I think once you decide this, it will make it easier to tailor it down and don't rush to make a decision :)

It seems like all the so called ‘good’ universities or the better known ones are not accredited but the smaller ones are - I personally think the accreditation and your future with that course is more important than the reputation of the uni/ their rank. Obviously good teaching is key but at the end of the day most of the course will be independent learning so it will be up to you to get the grades. It will make your life much easier (if you want to be a biomedical scientist sometime along your journey) to just go to the accredited degree uni in the first place.
