"Best thing KyoAni has made in the last nine years." Violet Evergarden stares intensify. Jokes aside this was a masterpiece, the video and the series it's discussing.
You're definitely correct when you say everyone can relate to a character in this anime. I felt extremely attached to the show because I was able to relate to Kumiko a ton.
As a band student, this show hurts in the best ways. We had a band director who was just like theirs, and he tried to make our band better, but we didn't listen. Nowadays I look back and regret the way I acted around him. It was stupid honestly. Plus the best part is the entire band ignoring the percussion cause they know how to handle themselves. that happens so often its hilarious. Man, I love this show. It makes me want to get into a band in college again but due to reasons I can't do it.
imo, oboe girl has the best eyes kyo ani has ever done. The colors match so perfectly and their recognizable kyo ani style format is as beautiful as it is on other characters
@@Totaraum Yea, I think euphonium as a whole sums up what I imagine as a "kyo ani standard aesthetic". Sure we have many outliers but the character design here does give this feeling, and their eyes specially. That's why I feel her eyes in specific are so great, they look so refined while still fitting the "common" kyo ani style
@@joaoteixeira3202 I think it's the color that makes them great. Also one thing I really like about kyoani's art style is how it evolves and improves over time. each show has its own feel while still being distinctly kyoani
As a former band geek myself, this show of course very much resonates with me. Many of the emotions, drama, and the joys of being in a concert band are portrayed very well and realistically in this show. What made it really resonate with me was the main cast played instruments in a section I was in. I was a tuba player and seeing how they portray its role in the ensemble and the joy of playing it was truly awesome. The characters were very vibrant and realistic, the animation was absolutely out of this world, and the soundtrack is truly a gem. Definitely one of my most favorite anime shows of all time
Any flaws this show has are forgiven with its amazing art, cinematography, and god tier character writing. I remember when kumiko catches natsuki practicing we both had the exact reaction. Her arc from aloof / not caring about band to being a core part of it was inspiring as someone who was very similar to her and decided to take life more serious and be more present in life. I also loved the mizore arc because it leads into what might be my favorite film. They did such a good job of making every single character so alive it really builds on the character writing mastery shows like k on laid out. Also that Barry sax solo
I can definitely see where you're coming from there. One of the best thing about Hibike will always be how perfectly Kumiko fits the role of protagonist. A relatable character for a relatable show
I just finished watching the entire Sound! Euphonium series and boy was I blown away! I have been bingeing all of Kyoto Animation Studio's for the past few months now and next to Violet Evergarden this was my favorite anime production of theirs. From the absolutely gorgeous visuals that are near theatrical quality to the many nuanced and complex character interactions, this series is a freaking masterpiece. I was completely sucked into the world of an afterschool music club and was very impressed with the impeccable attention to detail when it came to the instuments and how each section works in harmony with the next to create an amzing ensemble experience. I also enjoyed the massive amounts of character development on display for the entire main cast as this is some of the most realistic depictions of the highschool experience I have ever seen in an anime. Now I am awaiting season 3 with much anticipation as I cannot wait to return to the music room once again to watch a certain Euphonium player deal with her daily struggles to move forward and improve not only her playing ability, but also her ability to shorten the distance she inadvertently places between herself and those around her

With the new season coming out it's cool im getting recommended videos about this show again. i also want to say, no time was "wasted" on those things you did just because you didn't become some well known star or go to some high level with them. so long as you enjoyed them in that moment and genuinely had fun, there was no waste. we all just need things we can do for fun, and i think that's one thing this show will hopefully show in this upcoming season. playing music can be great to go for the gold and be the best, but is jsut as fulfuilling and rewarding as a hobby you just do because you have the time and like music.
