I sure wish I had known about you and John much earlier. I have commented in the past and you both are probably gone by now but I sure miss the 'crying' of the pedal steel.Judy/Iowa
Jetco7... On this video, just. boss DD2 delay, and a bit of reverb added on the Telonics PreAmp with a little more reverb added on the desk before recording it onto a mini tascam DR-07 just to my left. The volume pedal is Telonics too. David H
One of my favorite old classics and you are sounding mighty fine. Do you record your own bass and rythme or piano and guitar backing tracks or do you download them from somewhere on the net?
Hi Dave.Narrow boat Dave from Good old Essex here.Keep it up mate. You just go on getting better. Where can i get a gig list from where you are playing ? Dave
Wow, really like the false harmonics played at 0:50 - masterful technique - I can't DO them properly but I can certainly appreciate when they are done brilliantly! I would welcome any insight into your use of the Focusrite, iPad, effects/software and any pointers you could offer to others just beginning to set up for home recording and/or practicing alone (i.e. backing tracks, etc.) Thanks! Bob in Shanghai p.s. I think the accent is a just ruse and you're really from my hometown of Dallas ;)
Dave, I really like the overall sound that you have. What effects (devices, pedals, etc) do you use? II have been listening to a variety of pedal steel players & haven't heard anyone with a better sound. Your style & skills blow me away. Keep up the awesome sound!
Hello David ! Another pretty one with the usual top Quality. Don't notice the Steel Mixer here .Still using it or moved on to something else? Top notch job in any event. All the best. Roy in Nova Scotia.
Dave, How bout playing " Driving nails in my coffin " by Johnny Bush or " Midnight Cowboy " These would put the icing on the cake, your videos are super !!!
Hey Dave, Could you share your telonics settings? My name is Larry Toliver and I have one too. I've met you at Dallas before. Thanks in advance. Your tone is very nice.
Dave: Hello again! Not to keep asking questions but I would like to know what guage or size (thin, medium or heavy) pics do you prefer/suggest? Thank you very much for responding to my questions.
Hi Dave, great steel guitar playing as usual!! One question though. Why do you use this type of midi violin sound in the backing track?? At least for me, it sounds so unpleasant and cheap. Your playing deserves better. Best regards, Ellio
Well done! A little bit more bass, would be appreciated. It's too thin in the bass line. I found that in more of your uploads. Especially with a "walking bassline" (West Coast style) the low line must be very present. Sorry, my English is not so good. Hopefully you'll understand wat I mean. It's always a pleasure to listen en watch new uploads. Thks!!
For those of you who don't know, now THAT is country baby!!!!! Fabulous job.
