Thank you - saved me a bundle. Dealer wanted $165 to replace broken Edge door handle. I took it off to glue the 2 pieces of handle together and a torx screw holding inside parts in place fell to the bottom of the door. Took the inside door panel off and luckily found the screw. Got it all back together and it cost me $3 for the glue that would work on the plastic. Total repair was 1.5 hours including trip to store.
Anytime, you're welcome! You might want to be looking around for a new handle because the glue no matter how good does not seem to hold. I glued my handles at least 6 times before replacing them. I really wish the manufacturer made a better part. Good luck!
I used SureHold Plastic Surgery found at ACE Hardware for $3.99. Product Description: Sure hold, 3 gram, plastic surgery, bonds all plastic instantly & securely, bonds acrylic, ABS plastic, fiberglass, nylon, polycarbonate acrylic, polyester, PVC, urethane & more. From the Manufacturer: This Super Glue is specifically formulated to bond plastics more securely than other instant glue or gel. Most glue rejects foreign materials; this glue is specifically engineered to bite into plastic materials. And Loctite Plastics Bonding System. Fairly expensive on Amazon, but I found it in the discount bin at local drugstore. It is a two-part cyanoacrylate adhesive that sets in seconds and develops tremendous strength with just one drop. The activator primes hard-to-bond surfaces such as polypropylene and polyethylene. I hope I have better luck. If it does come apart again I’ll be looking in the salvage yards before I fork over $165+tax for a 2010. We are the original owners and this was the first occurrence with the handle. The car has been excellent for us and aside for normal maintenance items (tires, brakes, battery) we've had absolutely 0 problems with it.
I hope it works. I got mine on eBay and the part was one piece as you saw in the video. I think I paid 40.00. It was more of a pain to install but it will never need to be replaced.
@@HowToWithJames only major difference is two push clips along the back edge and a long pin-like alignment piller at the top inside corner. Also, the rear panels have to pivot at the top edge outward, then upwards. That alignment pin needs to clear the hole before you can lift off the cover. I had to do it to figure it out, thought I'd share me experience.
Peeling back the plastic on the door is where I can disconnect the window motor wire harness? My rear window keeps going down and up by itself. I need to disconnect it while it’s up until I can replace the motor.
Great video! I want to remove the wood inserts on the door panels and on the dash. Do you know if I can just pop them out or I need to remove the whole panel as you did? Same goes for the dash wooden strip. Thx. P.s mines is a 2018 limited.
Thanks! I no longer have the car so I am going from memory but I believe if you try to remove the wood inserts before removing the door panel you have a good chance of breaking them and messing up the door panel. I am not sure about the dash. Normally on the dash you will see screws to remove it or it is secured with clips
Where do you get your high-speed elbow grease? Seriously, thanks. I've been wanting to put sound insulator in my front doors. Maybe also change out window controls to add auto-up for front passenger-side like on late model Flex.
+Jean-Pierre Valenzuela I think you are asking how I know how to do this stuff? My answer would be trial and error and from asking questions. Your welcome! I hope on the future I can help you out again. 👍😁

You're welcome. Maybe next time I'll have a window to replace :)
Is this for the same for the both rear passenger doors to push a dent out from the inside?
I only took off the front but from what I could tell it was similar.
How To With James.. Okay, I'll give it a try after awhile. It just started storming up here in Wisconsin. Lol
Good luck!

How To With James
Thx for the fast reply. Mines is a 2018. I wanted to paint them but too lazy to remove all 4 panels. Lol.
Yes that would be a big job. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

No, I was amused by how quick your were with the ratchet, before I realized your video was sped up. So, I made an "elbow grease" joke about it.
+Jean-Pierre Valenzuela oh haha, yes I didn't figure anyone wanted to see that for any length of time.
شكرا
Thanks for the help
Oh boy, now that I really need this video it ends and goes blank at the halfway mark, presumably right before door handle removal procedure.
