Just want to say as a hobbyist mechanic this saved my butt a few times seeing it in action. I got stuck several times replacing the door switch on a 2013 lincoln mkx and this got me out of the ditch at least 3 times and bought some some credit with the wife. Appreciate it greatly
I did it watching this video, but it took me about 6 hrs. Taking it out was the easiest part, but putting the two bolts that attach to the panel was very challenging. Also I had a hard time resetting the window glass as one of the brackets came off while the panel was already assembled. I would loosen the bolts to lift up the glass instead of removing them as that would have made the job easier. Also take a picture of the door latch before removing it. I had a hard time putting it back together so I had to constantly rewind the video. This guy obviously knows what he's doing, but for the weekend warrior be warned that it's quite the job unless you have a lot of patience.
Thank you so much for this video. Replaced the right side latch on my 2013 Edge today and I could have never done it without this video. Didn’t use your brand but will sure do in the future if I need to. Most difficult part was removing those inside bolts - without proper tools. 4 hours and 4 beers later, fixed the issue and saved ~250$ of labor to have this replaced at a shop.
Thanks TRQ. Couldn't of done it without the vid. About 2.5 hrs and most difficult is knowing when to put the door lock knob in after installation of latch component and the 2 8mm bolts needed during put back where you have to line up the plastic alignment guides to secure the shell to liner. If not for those maybe 1.5 hrs. Thanks again
finally replaced mine last night could not have done without your video thank you biggest problem i had was 4 of the 9 bolts holding inner panel in place i needed to grind off what a nightmare and those 2 bolts on inside of panel didnt have a problem getting off but what a time to put back in realized your vedeo shows putting 3 screws back securing lock to door was un able to put those 2 bolts on inside but when i watched further i see your putting those 3 screws back in which you shoed already in so you took screws back out but didnt updat vedeo
Thank you for doing such a step-by-step video. I had the replace the wiring harness and knowing how to get behind the inner panel was extremely helpful.
Thank you so much! I have never fixed a car before and decided to try the latch replacement for my 2015 MKX after watching this video, took me 8 hours in -5 Celsius weather but finally got it done. The 2 bolts inside were a pain in the butt!

One of the best step by step guides. I hit one window clip so make sure they are on like suppose to be but my error. No stress if you follow his directions.
Wow, EXCELLENT video!! Great videography, clear sound, super detailed instructions and with a job that has so many steps, the REASSEMBLY instructions are SO helpful! So many other videos are just, "It goes back in the way it came out" Thanks!!!!
Great Video! Was able to replace rear left door lock on 2013 Edge. Replacement part from Dorman - works like new. Took time, and had issues with door mechanism (inside spring came undone) and later window wouldn't go down, but worked it all out.
Hey just want÷d to say thank u u explain thangs very well u take ur time doing the job helped me so much whoooo this was know small job thanks again William in Tennessee 😊
Sweet 6lb8oz baby Jesus I found your video. 1 million thank yous to you gentleman. I was able to complete this task by following your video stopping and pausing then hitting play til I caught up to where you were in the video. Great camera work showing what was happening and instructions were being given. All around fantastic work on everybodys part.
Video is great, think I’m ready to finally tackle this repair. I can’t find a part number for this replacement anywhere in the video though, anyone know what it is, or an OEM part number?
Thanks for the video, did a front passenger's door on a 2011 edge by watching it, 2:30, if you only loose these bolts, the window should come off and will keep the inside metal part from getting off the rubber, if taken completely off make sure you start the threat just a bit before you sit the window back down, otherwise you might have difficulty putting them back on with the window on place, that was my main problem.
I do not comment much on RUclips, but this is one of the best DIY videos I have ever watched. Very professionally done and all of the important information is present without having to watch the complete turn of every screw. I was not aware of TRQ before seeing this video, but I will definitely go out of my way to use their products whenever possible. Thank you very much for the help!
After having completed this project, I have a couple of things that might be helpful to someone else attempting it. First, three of the silver 10mm bolts that held the inner plastic panel to the door were stripped and there is no way to remove them without cutting. The best way I found to do this was to use a hole saw slightly bigger than the flanged bolt head without the bit inside. I used this to cut the plastic panel around the bolt so that it would release from the door. For reinstallation, I used two self tapping screws with washers on both sides of each stripped bolt. Second, the two screws behind the rubber plugs that secure the window clamps should not be removed. You can simply loosen them to release the window from the track. This will save you the headache of the clamping mechanism falling apart constantly as you manipulate the door panel later. Finally, if your hands and arms are bigger than a six year old's, the two 8mm bolts on the inside of panel are extremely difficult to install. This mechanic makes it look pretty easy, but that was probably the most challenging part of the process. Once again, this video is excellent and definitely gives you the proper steps for success, but you may have to improvise if you run into some of the bumps in the road as I did. Thank you again to TRQ and good luck!
Thank you for your informative and accurate video/came in helpful today. I don't think I would have attempted this project with out your video and me brother
When you put it back together make sure you run the locking rod before you bolt the inside handle back on. Great video but I don't know how it's possible if you hang the handle first.
3 of 5 stars. Never showed: 1- how to disconnect the green clasp to lock itself 2- the 3 bolts to the actuator magically appear at 13:03 to 15:35 and disappear again at 15:38. Then you "install" them again later? 3- around 16:35 you cut out the part where you have to disassemble the door to put the lock bar through the door. It magically appears ar 16:45 But thanks for the video, it gave me a good guideline
Very good video, thanks a lot it will be very helpfull when I get the chance to fix something that is scratching from the inside my driver door window.
You can much more easily disassemble the door handle on the outside and pull the latch and window regulator panel out as one, then address the fiddly lock/handle/etc with plenty of space.
Did a lot more work then you need it to if you just had removed that side bolt from the outside handle the whole thing would have come out instead of you having to remove the entire panel or take apart the actuator inside the door which is uncomfortable

The best How To vid I've ever seen. No wasted time, and showed everything. Even in those conditions, this video delivered. Thanks.

Thank y’all! I got stuck getting the new latch in. Getting the handle off and attaching the bracket on outside the door was the key!

Excellent Video. I was able to fix my ford Edge SE 2011. The door is working perfectly. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your informative and accurate video/came in helpful today. I don't think I would have attempted this project with out your video and me brother
This guys amazing great video.. The engineers at Ford do this on purpose to keep their service department making money...good luck 👍
If I do this again I am drilling new holes to make the two 8 mm re-attach from the outside. Could have saved a lot of time
Great tutorial, could not have done this without. Took me too long, but I am happy.
You, did a great job, now I know why mechanics get paid big bucks
Great lesson! Can you help me find the part on your site? 2013 Ford Edge Left side.
Anyone get back to you with the part number? and you are saying the driver side door won't latch? Thx, Matt
Excellent video work & clear/detailed
verbal instructions.... Thanks!
When you put it back together make sure you run the locking rod before you bolt the inside handle back on. Great video but I don't know how it's possible if you hang the handle first.
Thanks for the video, your job is awesome, I will try to do 🙏
Thank you 🙏 for this video
Wow awesome video absolutely incredible. I have the same tools as you 14.4 and soft grip. Awesome video sir

Very good video, thanks a lot it will be very helpfull when I get the chance to fix something that is scratching from the inside my driver door window.
+Roberto Gómez Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
I can't find the part on the site, the link doesn't go to it. I need left rear door lock actuator
Thank you! Very helpful.
We have a 2015 MKX is this the same?
Video well done
Great video, thank you.
Can you please do a video on how to adjust the doors (door alignment)
You can much more easily disassemble the door handle on the outside and pull the latch and window regulator panel out as one, then address the fiddly lock/handle/etc with plenty of space.
Great video! Life saver for sure!!
What was the yellow indicator light on the instrument panel saying at 23:17?
The black door panel 10 bolts the to inner door panel bolts are just spinning... How do i get them off?
How to replace the alternator
This video is very helpful for anyone who has the misfortune of working on this ridiculous design. If I ever meet the idiot who designed it, ……..
Great video...
Did a lot more work then you need it to if you just had removed that side bolt from the outside handle the whole thing would have come out instead of you having to remove the entire panel or take apart the actuator inside the door which is uncomfortable
+Cryptic Gaming Thanks for the feedback! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
