Since the judges were the only ones who messed up, my personal opinion is that both athletes should get bronze AND an apology from the judges and Olympics committee. The judges hurt two people who were just there to do their best with their mix up, and the fallout is not helping.

Shall we give two people the same job if they both have been hired for 1 if HR mess up? No!
In a science test if the teacher calculated the third and forth score wrong should both kids get 3rd place? No.
The judges got it wrong, they need to be fired, the scores recalculated and 3rd place winner get the bronze. Measures need to be put in place so it doesn't happen again with apologies for both athletes.
If I was wrongly penalised for my medal why would I want the records books to show my opponent with the same medal for a lesser score.
Would you want your work colleague to get the same bonus as you because management calculated his kpi's wrong?. Oh sorry he didn't achieve his target but because they made a mistake and said he did you both will get a bonus. That's not how it works in the real world.

The situation is even more complicated. The judges incorrectly scored another Romanian gymnast, wrongly deducting points for stepping out of bounds (which they omitted to when reviewing video evidence). This error placed her in fourth. Romania tried to appeal, but it was too late. During this process, it was also found that Jordan's coach missed the 1-minute window to petition. The correct scoring would have placed the Romanian gymnast in 3rd (initially placed 4th), Jordan in 4th (initially placed 5th), and Ana in 5th (initially placed 3rd).

For one there is a timer. That parameter is a little unfair to the last gymnast in general because all the other gymnasts in a competition have until the next gymnast starts their routine to request an inquiry. The last gymnast only has one minute. Two, the Romanian gymnast got a deduction for going out of bounds and her heel did NOT touch which means that deduction is incorrect and she should have had a higher score as well.

If it was 4 seconds late then the deadline rule stands. Sooner or later you see every rule in a sport or event. Will be a lesson for everbody going forward. As for giving them both medals that would not work. You would still have the record and placing questioned. Who's name in on the bronze, who's name goes first, why are there two bronze medalist, and so on. The only fair thing to do is refer to the rules and the rules say the Romanian won like it or not. Keep in mind medals have been won and lost by rescoring for the USA by rescoring that was done on time. If the shoe was on the other foot amd the USA athelete was getting a medal realocated to her i would say the same thing. I think all of you saying just have two medals or it is already over with should just accept this in good sportmanship and respect for the rules.

I am confused. So now you know what her real score was doesn't this make the bronze given to you feel like cheating? I could see if her score was really higher because of the routine but this just seems weird..... Like the judges really did get it wrong but a technicality of 4 seconds now gives it to someone else who didn't have the better routine. How can you say you earned it? Yea those judges need to be reevaluated as this is insulting on ALL ENDS.... if they had of got the score right the FIRST TIME this wouldn't have been an issue. This brings flashback of how they would always undercut domonique dawes scores. We " as a community" always knew that this is a way of cheating and doing nasty things. Again because the error was technically wrong they should have given it to both athletes. This is just sad. Also I wonder if there is some legal action that is going to take place here.

It shouldn't be on the players to correct the judges' mistakes. As painful as it was for the Romanian Gymnast to have the win revoked, what does receiving a medal she knows she didn't earn prove? It'll never be a justified win. She'll always have an asterisk and know, as the rest of us do, that she didn't measure up. Is that not more embarrassing?😬 Maybe with the medal in her possession she'll just pretend she's one of the best. This is a blemish on the entire Olympic Federation, and just another reason why the French games will go down in history as one of the worst. Such a shameful system.

Jordan behavior was DESPICABLE especially when she knew that it wasn't a medal rightfully won as she contested and won for an element she never did and other athletes have had points taken without reason and without checking their appeal.
Ok, I understand that she is still young and she doesn't have the fortitude to say out of if the bat that she rejects a medal "gained" in a such context but it was to much to act dignified and not to gloat and put such a show during podium and after?
Yes injustices happened in sports and even at the Olympics but her behavior really rubbed the people all over the world in a wrong way and you can see this in many comments and NO, it is not about racism but about how people act in face of injustice.

Basically the judges underscored Jordan. They missed one of her skills. So she initially got placed 5th. The coaches have 1 minute after the routine to submit a challenge to the scoring for review. The coaches submit and the judges review it again and acknowledged they missed a jump split and they gave her the earned bronze that day. Days later they are now saying her coaches submitted the inquiry 4 seconds too late…. Jordan was the last gymnast to go so she had the least time to submit. So they will take away her bronze even though we all now know that she deserved the bronze and they admitted their mistake😂 it will go to Ana. Meanwhile another Romanian gymnast Sabrina submitted hers too late but was denied same day. They are the ones probably responsible for this. Sabrina also may have been even better than the girl who is now getting bronze Ana, but not as good as Jordan if they were all scored correctly in the first place.😅

The judges accepted the challenge thus raising the score they gave her on difficulty, which increased her overall score. But the judges did not say at the time the challenge came late. It was the Olympic arbitrators that ruled that the challenge came after the 1 minute mark. On the other hand, the way they treated the Romanian gymnast seems to me to be in bad taste (you win, you're holding the flag of your country and you find out that you didn't actually win anything)
    2. I saw that many comments (not here) talked about racism on the part of Romanians. No television, no commentary gave racist answers. At least with us, we appealed the wrong score.
