- Renée Fleming with the Orchestra at Temple Square perform Mack Wilberg's arrangement of the "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming" for an annual holiday program of Music and the Spoken Word.
Episode 3981. Aired December 11, 2005
Ms. Fleming sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl 48 in 2014. My Seattle Seahawks played that day. She brought me to tears that day, and I knew she would today. ❤🌠🙏
I was watching that game too! Jets screaming overhead - I was glad that so many people got to hear what a voice Renee Fleming has
From her mouth to God's ears. A Heaven-sent gift she shares here .
I listen to this every time I need to feel something after this cruel world sucks the hope out of me.
In my opinion, this is one of the best of all Rene Fleming and/or the Tabernacle Choir have ever achieved. It is flawless in my mind. Thank you Rene, Choir and Mack Wilberg. I listen to this over and over. How calming. How wonderful. Words are inadequate.
Me, too! So beautiful, so tender. Words are truly inadequate.
Merry Christmas
Renée Fleming's soprano is as pure and clean as the first driven snow. Small wonder why artists the world over want to sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. As a child my father religiously played the choir's 1959 album "The Spirit of Christmas." The choir's perfection and deep emotional spirituality has made them a timeless treasure.
My parish priest, who is now an Auxiliary Archbishop in Toronto, loves this piece. A few years ago @ Mass, the choir sang this, & he sat with his eyes closed, so moved by the music 🙏
The Tabernacle Choir is a treasure.
I listen over and over with tears falling unable to believe such perfection is humanly possible.
This song brings me to tears. The soprano is so gifted.
Most beautifully sung by the definitive soprano!
Absolute perfect pitch. The soloist and choir perfected this and to the conductor absolutely an incredible job on the timing and pace
German Christmas Songs, in english sang from this choir? Yes, yes, yes, please more from this. It's so beautiful. Thank you.
I was there!!!! Best concert of my life.
This is a beautiful rendition that gives pause for reflection on the Advent and the on the upcoming Christmas Holiday. It stills my heart and thoughts. It brings peace. It gives chills. Just beautiful.
This is the last thing I want to see and hear. Literally 💚
A Masterpiece ------- a masterpiece of all that is great.Would that all people listen to it.Love and peace would flourish.
All praise be to God and His Blessing on all involved.
This is beautiful, may Gods name be praised..
I love this song with all my heart.
Beautiful! This is not an easy song to sing, but Renee has mastered it wonderfully.
“How thankful I am that when God became man He did not choose to become a man of iron nerves; that would not have helped weaklings like you and me nearly so much.”- C.S. Lewis
Judi Harbin true, nor would he be able to identify with the rest of us. We have one who has been tempted in every way yet was without sin. Heb. 4:15
What a gift to us!
Beautiful rendition.
This is the song I wish for my farewell
Purely driven snow in heaven.
These songs kill me with their beauty...lo how a rose e'er blooming, in the bleak midwinter (Holst), lascia ch'io pianga, and similar ones. Now THERE is the real LIFE, the real GOOD. VICTORY!
What a beautiful song
Absolutely beautiful. Always enjoyed since a child. 40+ years
The divine Ms. Fleming and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Perfection!
Are they worshipping or performing? The dress says it all.
John Dover
Close your eyes, listen and worship!
John Dover It doesn't always have to be one or the other.
John Dover Dressing in sackcloth and ashes might have gone out of style. But this hasn't: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Beautiful, an old time favorite...
Awesomely beautiful!
Magnificent angelic voices ! Leaves me utterly speechless to be sure
Doesn't get any more beautifully sung!

So moving.
There was a time that this was my least favorite Christmas Carol. Then, on Christmas Day in 2016, I saw this on television. It is now one of my favorites, after Trans Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Canon. In my opinion, both these songs should only by sung by these groups in their ways.
Heavenly!!!
Sweetest
ay the all the Saints Proclaim it!
SUBLIME!
Excelente espiritual muito
Very nice
Herrlich
Ms. Fleming's voice is like mulled honey.
Are they singing in both English and German?
This is certainly a beautiful Christmas carol, and close to my favourite. However, it's better in German, no matter how simply it's sung.
Way, way too slow and stiff...
right! i agree!
Agree!!
Stan Shelley Stiff???? Renee's voice flows like a beautiful stream!!
So moving!
