I’ve had my Stoeger Condor for more than 5 years now. I use it as a secondary weapon when I go hunting. My SX4 is my primary. I like the fun and it works well for me. Used Hoppes to clean it one year and it gummed up the pin. Recommend using a thinner oil when cleaning. The auto locking takes some getting used to. Shoots well. Heavy in the field. After 45 minutes, it felt like a load of bricks in my arms.
I'm glad I watched this video of yours 2 weeks ago I had just purchased an over and under 12 gauge Stoeger shotgun double defense and when I got it home and put it together I was wondering the same thing about the release why it was sort of off to the side so I opened it and closed it about five times and I kept wondering why it wouldn't go straight but at least I see it on your gun that's the way it's supposed to be. Thanks for doing this video I feel a lot better now.
This is my next shotgun. I holded one at the gunship the other day and instantly loved it. Felt good in my hands and I love the way it handles. You can feel the quality of it.
I got one of these too, but with the synthetic stock since it was cheaper than the wood stock, though I would have got the latter if they were the same price. It was my first break action, but then I ordered a single shot about a month later, so now I have two! I haven't had a chance to shoot either, but they are oiled and ready to go when I can get to the range. I did a video on both them, feel free to check them out if you're interested. Thanks for the video!
I have an Stoeger Condor Supreme, it’s a really good gun, strong and reliable, you can’t go wrong with it, mine has more than 5000 rounds and still working great, I use it for sporting clays and trap shooting, it’s made in Brazil and way better than any of the Turkish scrap that are currently flooding the market
What coincidence. I have that same model 1100 I inherited from my dad. I'm here looking at the Stoeger Condor Competition so I stop wearing on the 1100 using it for trap.
I’m familiar with the operation of a double barrel shotgun because I have a friend who is a firearm instructor but I have never owned or shot a gun of this action before. Is there any compensation with aiming correctly since it is a double barrel or is the sight alignment and sight picture the same as firing a single barrel shotgun?
As someone who owns a much older model, mine does not have extractors. It will pop the shells up, but you need to either grab them out, or tip it upside down
I'm considering buying this stoger. Very cheap this week 299 on cyber sale.. I've read the issue on the second shot is actually due to a week spring for the trigger to properly reset I guess? What did you find?
Its from weaker loads not cycling the internal rebounding hammer. As it wears in it is much less of an issue. You can use game loads, or heavier feild loads to wear it in faster. Its common on cheaper guns.
It’s actually a pretty decent gauge. It has lighter recoil but the only downside is the pellet count is a lot less than that of a 12. I’d go with number 9 shot if you can find it available and either an IC choke or skeet choke.
Your not giving yourself a fair chance at breaking in this Stoeger. I see your shooting at handicap distance, 26 yards, most trap shooters shoot at the 16 yard line.
my boy joined his middle school sporting clays team, i bought him this gun to start off with, impressed so far
I hope your boy does well. 👍👍

5:30 -6:00 is the preferred position for the locking lever on most o/u shotguns. When they wear, they go to 8:00 position.
Just used this for my first time skeet shooting, 15/10 would recommend. :)
2 out of 25 for me trap shooting. Would recommend
Thanks for the heads up about pins!

Also referred to, 60-40. 60pct above, 40 pct below is a relatively standard pattern
👍

I've had an 1100 since the 80's also... just something about it....
Bout to jump to O/U also as my father recently passed.
The 1100 is just a classic. Sorry for your loss.
Just bought one for myself after doing as much research as possible, please make that update video so I can keep track!
How has it been?

How much does it cost for Stoeger Condor Supreme?
@@papabear7875 Around Cad $800
I’ve had the same issue of light strike on the lower barrel. Stoeger stayed quiet. Must be a known issue.
The ones I have looked at are hard to open stiff and how is the regulation on the the barrels
Good evening. Hows your stoger shooting so far? Im thinking about purchasing one
Does anyone have a fix for light priner strikes outta these
Do you know if it's any good for deer hunting? If you think so what would you give it range wise?
Lmao
So no auto shell ejection?
The Condor Supreme has ejectors
What coincidence. I have that same model 1100 I inherited from my dad. I'm here looking at the Stoeger Condor Competition so I stop wearing on the 1100 using it for trap.
Did you end up getting a Condor Comp model? How is it?
What chokes and rounds do you use for Skeet Shooting?
I have a condor 12 ga and I was patterning my shot and found out it shoots high and left. Nice gun other than that
Thanks!
How can you compare an 1100 to an O/U let alone a 500.00 gun vs a 1500.00 gun.
He can compare them because he has fired both.
Ill take a brazillian made gun over a remington any day of the week. Rem quality has taken a sh*t dive since the 80s.
Are these really as bad as some people say or are they good for casual clay shooters
Does the condor have a barrel selector?
I’m familiar with the operation of a double barrel shotgun because I have a friend who is a firearm instructor but I have never owned or shot a gun of this action before. Is there any compensation with aiming correctly since it is a double barrel or is the sight alignment and sight picture the same as firing a single barrel shotgun?
No there isn’t, it’s the same
Fascinating..
What barrel shoots first ?
I believe it is the top barrel.
The bottom barrel shoots first
Does it not have extractors?
As someone who owns a much older model, mine does not have extractors. It will pop the shells up, but you need to either grab them out, or tip it upside down
i have one of these can anyone tell me how to get it loose its sooo tight and its so annoying
I just bought one today and I noticed that too... Gonna keep opening it after I pick it up tomorrow and hope it loosens up.
@Mark Calous I hunted with it yesterday, it's already a lot better now 👍🏾
@@MiloTheRuler That is good. All o/u are tight. I have 2 - 60 year old Stevens 311's , and they are still tight. My 555 takes 2 hands to open.
@@robertboreman7672 -- Perhaps a drop of gun oil on the hinge will help.
After some use it will get loose, don’t worry that is normal
28" barrel?
Yes
What chokes come with this Stoeger shotgun?
Improved and Modified
I'm considering buying this stoger. Very cheap this week 299 on cyber sale.. I've read the issue on the second shot is actually due to a week spring for the trigger to properly reset I guess? What did you find?
I have had it happen only a couple of times, so it's hard to diagnose.
Its from weaker loads not cycling the internal rebounding hammer. As it wears in it is much less of an issue. You can use game loads, or heavier feild loads to wear it in faster. Its common on cheaper guns.
Does it auto eject or is it manual? Looks like it's manual
It has extractors but you can manually pull them.
@@V3Precision ah thanks mate, have a good day
@@V3Precision can you do a video on the difference and standard operating procedure
That locking lever would drive me insane. Ive had over unders and never saw that before.
What’s the barrel length?
28in
How’s the recoil? I’ve been using a 20 gauge when I go for skeets.
I'm going to trade the 12 gauge for a 20 gauge for skeet

i kept taking it thinking wtf y isnt it straight
It’s so it’s out of the way of the safety
