Another perfect show from master artisan John Galliano. Perfect color palette, fantastic choice of fabrication and amazing fabric treatments. Definitely a reference for all brands out there. This collection makes sense, quirky and strangely beautiful
Some of these pieces make me want to see John back at his own house, not even Dior but at the head of the John Galliano brand. I'm getting a little tired of this over the top alternative things he's making and sadly that's the Margiela DNA, i can't imagine what is going to be of the real Galliano legacy and DNA if he stays forever at Margiela, i hope he gets the CD charge at John Galliano again or a more commercial fashion house that allows him to make the wonders he used to do.

"Over the top" is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT Margiela DNA. Quite the opposite. For me, Galliano at Margiela is aesthetically terrible for both of them, but people seem to like it. Or it gets a lot of attention for the brand. Why Margela sold to Diesel is beyond me, as this was always going to be the result. All the mystery, all the subtlety, all the quiet humor, all the trompe l'oeil effects, all the unexpected sexiness, all the formal exploration, all the thematic coherence, all the references to actual daily lives of women, all the revelations of how clothes actually work in the finished garments, all the self-referentiality, all the consistency, all the details that require time to discover--down the toilet. The shops, which used to be about treasure hunts, are now the most generic, unremarkable, dull, nothing spaces. Like the runway contexts. The music, which used to enhance and celebrate Galliano's designs at other houses, makes zero sense here, as the collection has no coherent guiding cultural references, so it's just random, meaningless sampling. So dispiriting. Margiela was such an aesthetic touchstone for me--since John's taken over I avert my eyes. But what can you do?
the music is beginning to get that Galliano at Dior vibe. eventually the sterile white scenery will become lavish sets. I'll wait.

Ok people, let's get serious about this issue. John Galliano is here, in Margiela. Margiela is about continuous experimentation and orderly lack of control. Christian Dior, today, tomorrow and always (although with Galliano there was a short period of terror, brilliant, but finally of terror) it's about permanence of tradition and legacy, trying to make tradition modern, and Galliano did it his way when he was there. Let's get serious and responsible please, enough is enough. I don't understand why there are people who cannot understand about John Galliano is no longer in Dior, he left there. His legacy is very important, immeasurable, and has been graved both history of fashion, as in our memories, but his era is over, to give way to new airs and new silhouettes. But when we talk about Galliano's fashion, we should take a look at what he is doing now, in present times. Unfortunately, his mistakes earned him his exit from Dior and the loss of his own brand (sad and horrifying fact), but he has recovered, and returned to the fashion scene more alive than ever. Renzo Rosso is Margiela's owner, and he trusted in his extraordinary vision of fashion and art, because John Galliano is not only a designer, he is an artist. But no matter how many people complain and complain about that fashion polemic, Dior will continue to be Dior, Galliano will continue to be Galliano (with Bill Gayten shits), and Margiela will continue to be Margiela, while creativity and economic benefits of each of those brands will allow

Where's the original music? Why change it to classical? Even the official margiela runway show has different music for this show. Need the original music back, it was amazing.

cest assez etrange ce que fait galliano chez margiela ca ressemble un peu a du miyake et ca ressemble assez a du gallianno des annes 80 toutes ces deconstructions et ces travails de matieres tout azimuts sont assez reussie mais font desfois abimer la clarte du propos et des volumes margiela cetait le styliste de la clarte ses collections sorienter tjrs sur un leitmotiv clair et fort hors la cest tres floue et tjrs dans le working progress permanent il serait salutaire de simplifier sa proposition et nous dire reellement ou il veut en venir
