You’re literally a lifesaver. Been struggling for 2 days because one of the doors wasn’t symmetrical with the frame and we fixed it thanks to your tips. Thank you!!
I can’t believe after so many months my wardrobe has now been fixed after watching this. I had a huge gap on my sliding door that would get bigger as it went down. I tried everything and nothing worked. It really baffled me! But I did what you showed me and the gap literally went straight away. I didn’t realise how uneven my floor was. Thank you!
I really thought the movers messed up my wardrobe during the disassembly and re-assembly. This video and a folded piece of cardboard fixed the problem perfectly. Thank you !!!
Very helpful video. I have a similar Pax unit with Hasvik doors with this problem. I think many houses will have uneven floors and your shim fix to square up the doors to the box worked wonders. The doors are even to the frame and the pull-out drawers are no longer bumping into the doors.
Hi, thanks for amazing PAX series, it's very helpful. Got another problem and maybe you can give me some tips? The back door is getting in contact with both top and bottom white sticky strips attached to the front door. Effectively it slows doors down or getting one dragging another with it. I did everything like in manual and I'm out of ideas. Is it supposed to be like this? Is it a bug?
Hi! My doors got stuck together as the one underneath jumped off its rail and is now stuck between the rail and the outer door. Is there a way to fix it?
I noticed that fitters from IKEA did not screw wardrobe to the wall IKEA always recommends that wardrobes are fitted to the wall this stops them falling over and keeps them stronger you may need to fix a piece of wood to the wall if you have skirting boards so they are level and not being pulled backwards this will damage wardrobe if you do not fit wood !! if you have 2 3. 4. Or more in a row you should also screw them together on the internal sides IKEA supply special screws for this that screws male / female that screw into each other so look tidy and use wedges and spirit level to make sure all wardrobes are level when fitted you should have wardrobes that will last years . If not fitted correctly heavy doors will rip of and you will need new wardrobes remember it’s all chipboard so it needs to be fitted rigid so it does not move . With a bit of skill you can do many things put tv inside make office desk inside I have done both for my children and they love them .
For more permanent wardrobes, instead of screwing the sideboards together when you have multiple PAX cabinets side by side: Use silicone sealant to permanently fix the sideboards together. That is the professional solution also often used in kitchens. It requires more time, but this solution also allows to use all the holes inside the PAX cabinets to place drawers, etc. at any height.
I am having trouble getting the sliding inner door to line up with edge of side panel. The fitter left the unit with a tappering gap between the fixing wall and the side panel. if he tightened the wall screws to get rhe sude panel flush with wall then the inner door overhangs the side panel at the bottom. What us the problem and how can the door be adjusted to fix the problem? Otherwise I have an ugly and tappering gap between side panel and wall which you see when you enter the bedroom.
Thanks. Do you have an updated version of this video for the newer sliding doors? I assembled my wardrobe (4 x 75cm) according to your videos and the manual, no parts left, but the doors don't open wide enough. Luckily I can use all the drawers. Do you have any advice or a newer video? Thanks.
Carcase leveling is problematic when the floor is not rigid. I think that if you put a rigid base under each leg leveler will be easier and last in the future. saludos Gerardo
This is a great video, I really struggled with my PAX and followed your instructions and it came together much more easier. Way more complicated than I imagined!! But I have one question. The left (inner) door slides easily and smoothly. But the right (outer) door feels really heavy, stiff and slow when sliding. Do you know why the outer door feels so different? Is there something I can do? Thanks :)
@@rubentje555 Possible your lock for the door on the top hinge is on the top of the rail instead of under the rail.Just check them both if they run under the top rail.

Hi. Thank you so much for your pax wardrobe sliding door videos. Saved me so much time. I have a problem with my sliding doors catching the soft opening bracket at the top. Can you help please. X
Thank you for these many very good tips! IKEA PAX wardrobe with sliding doors is much harder and more complex than it looks. People always underestimate. Are you do furniture assembling for a living? Where are you from?
One of my PAX doors (the one on the inner track) is making a horrible screeching sound. I think it is because the angle of the door is a bit off. Which one of the steps should I adjust do you think? I don't understand :(
Check this video you have there all details how to put up sliding doors ruclips.net/video/cvOwRTmuXo4/видео.html in 8:29 there is small plastic at the bottom hinge often people lose that than when you put the doors up it will make sound like metal on metal
Sir I need your urgent advise in fixing my sliding doors. I have shifted to India from UAE. IKEA sliding door has been fixed but the outer door is too much noisy and heavy. The carpenter here told me it is impossible to fix this problem. I shall be highly grateful to you if you can guide me. Thanks 🙏
You're my go to person for assembling Ikea stuff, and I was wondering if you have any tips on reinforcing the backboard and shelves on the 100cm pax wardrobe? Also, if you had a 300cm run would you put in 4x75cm or 3x100cm pax?
Hi, we have sliding doors on our PAX but didn’t realise when fitting that there needs to be space at the side of the wardrobe to be able to hang both the doors. We’ve managed to get one sliding door on but can’t get the other on! Is there a way to fit the second door without having space on either side of the wardrobe? The wardrobe is so flush to the walls in the room it almost looks like a fitted wardrobe. Thanks!
Hey, sounds like a problem I had too. To solve it I put the inside door on first, which can be quite awkward and fiddly. Then put the outside one on, but I had to climb inside with my screwdriver to attach the brackets. Hope this helps if you haven’t already sorted it.
I’m just in the middle of building mine and the inner door started screeching, it turns out the plastic cap off the bottom bracket attached to the bottom rail had come off. I took the door off and put the cap back on the hook. Stopped the noise.
My drawers and wire baskets can not be pulled out because of the doors. The doors are about 2 in in the way of the drawers. Is there something else I can do?
IKEA assembler totally messed up on the wardrobe! I had to redo it to get sliding doors to open and close without sticking. They misaligned and also put wrong brackets in wrong places, used wrong screws! They messed up royally! How can they be so inexperienced! I will always assemble my own this time. So much time waste and money for bad assemblers and they never finished it!
Yes in some cases when you load the wardrobe it will slightly move and that can twist the doors slightly. That's why you need to make sure the wardrobe is straight with the wall or leaning slightly towards the wall or the best option attached is to attach Pax wardrobe to the wall. If the wardrobe is attached to the wall the differences between empty and full wardrobe on the door are a minimal usually easy fix with slight adjustment on the top hinges.
Those wardrobes are terribly built and fitted ! How on earth can you end up with so many bits left over ?! If I were the client I'd report fitter to ikea and get ikea to fix installation for free. My top tip is make sure floor is level and as you mention make sure pax wardrobes are square when you build them. The back panel nail on is integral to making them strong and square.

300cm run, I'm going with 4x75. Will be stronger, and, with an even number you can use (upgrade later to) sliding doors.
