✨Thankfully I found this video after spending several frustrating hours trying to adjust 2 newly installed hinges on a bi-fold kitchen cabinet door. After all my searching, this IS definitely the BEST video! Thank you so much for posting. Your explanations, tips and demonstrations were so clear, concise and easy to follow. I am feeling very accomplished with my DIY, and the door is now positioned perfectly. ✨
I never thought I'd be searching this vid in my young age to fix my cabinets lol. Thank you very much! Now I only need a screw driver. This video made me realized that basic tools are must have in a household
Hey /sheet, yeah for sure, a few basic tools keeps us outa trouble, I do love buying a new tool for every project though = unhealthy obsession 😂 cheers mate, Kent
Thanks a lot! It really helped me in solving the problem. In this video, every single problem related to the hinges has been covered and solution to the same has been discussed in very simple to understand manner.
I've watched so many and each one has left me more confused, best video I've come across so easy to follow! Going to try this again tomorrow for the 10th time, feeling optimistic after watching this
THANK YOU!! Just installed ikea kallax doors & one wasn’t fully closing, it was popping back open a little bit, took 2 seconds to adjust it after watching this video & now the door is perfectly seated 😊
Thanks! I had a door on my IKEA Billy cabinet that wouldn’t shut flush with the other. Watched your video, made the adjustment, and it’s now perfect. Took me maybe 60 seconds, tops! Thanks again!!
Fantastically helpful video. I would have ripped the door off the cabinet if I had not first watched this video. Door fixed in about 5 minutes! Thanks a lot!
OMG. Thank you Thank you. What you did at 3.45 minutes is just what I needed to know. Now the cabinet door closes properly. We all needed to know this.
Thank you so much for this! I could never figure out how these hinges work. After watching your video, I understand them completely and can adjust them easily.
This is a great tutorial! I have a carousel cabinet door that wouldn't close at the bottom but would at the top. Tried to ignore it but couldn't. Although this vid doesn't cover the issue I had, it gave great insight on adjusting hinges to be able to fix it. Thanks for your help 👊
Your video sorted out my problem for a bathroom cabinet, and an IKEA cabinet. Thank you so much. The IKEA one now closes properly without scraping on the drawer below it, but is misaligned from that drawer by about 2 mm (giving my OCD a bit of a problem). The adjustments to shift left / right are at their limit. Whatever ... I'll just put it down to a flaw in the manufacture. I feel better if there's something to blame! 😂
Thanks dude even though I overtightened and fucked up my screws also lost one for the hinges this still was enough to make it work on my first cupboard ! Really easy to understand and well made video that even novices can understand.
Excellent. You have covered every problem most of us have over time. 👍 Good teacher . Clear calm and uncomplicated. I’ve subscribed. Look forward to watching and learning from all your links. Many thanks.
@@InspireDIY Hi, just subscribed your channel, pls can you do a video about how to removed the hinges from being screwed... same this cabinet hinges your using as sample, pls. thank you
Great video. Would like to add that very often if the door is located next to a sink it will often fail to close because of corrosion of the hinge pivot points and spring. Check your other doors and see how much tension they close with. The problem hinges should have about the same amount of force as the others. If they don't, take the door off and spray the the pivot points and springs with wd 40 or electrical contact cleaner. Work the hinges back and forth until they easily snap open and shut. Should be good for another 10 years.
This seems to be my exact problem. Extending the hinges outwards as suggested in the video didn’t do the trick, and the problematic door is beneath the sink. I’ll try this next. Cheers to the both of you. Update edit: Sort of right. When I removed the door to inspect the hinges and flicked them a couple times it turned out a small part was coming loose at one of them, which prevented the shut. I removed the small part and increased the pressure of the upper hinge to compensate and it shuts again.
Thank you! I've replaced most every hinge in our cabinets over the years, and always struggle with adjustment because the very brief instructions are in very brief Japanese (I live in Tokyo). With your info I will try to fix the one door that won't close properly -- this is the cabinet where my wife has stored 600 tons of cleaning supplies, and you do not ever want to open this door or you will spend an hour trying to put things back. :-)
Just a quick Thank you as I just fixed my cabinet doors with your tips! For “not closing” problem I found turning the middle screw a few more times may load the spring a bit more and it feels “sharp” when closing.
Very informative and usefull video. Very nice. I am facing a problem from yesterday wid my wardrobe door. Now its fixed after watched your video. Thanks 👍
EXCELLENT , Thanks. Explained well and slow so don't miss anything and no need to play back and watch.. I am trying to adjustment for Made to measure Storage Cabinet (total 5 screws ) . struggling to do the adjustment
PERFECT! And why? All the close-ups. And thx for the tip of not needing to totally remove the screws/hinges when adjusting a door vertically…..don’t know what I was thinking there. Also, super tip about just going one size up on the screws if the particle board gets stripped! Thx!
All of a sudden today I cannot fully open nor close an upper cabinet door. I will be looking at Adjustment #4, although I already see a lower hinge first horizontal screw sticking way out. Now to figure out which way to turn that screw with the limited opening it is allowing at the moment. Thanks for the helpful video. Hope one of these adjustments work!
