I have a 2014 gold one and I love it but I prefer thinner necks. I’m thinking about selling it and putting in some extra money to get the new one, still gold since that by far is the coolest color
I think I would prefer the 2015 model me personally I feel the semour Duncan pickup for the bridge would give it a little more bite which is personally what I look for the most in a guitar
The seymour duncan invader is a great pickup. It has alot of bass as well as bite. The syn bucker is a great pickup also, it has alot of bite and is extremely clear in the notes. I think you would like it. I need to do a comparison video of the two pickups, becuase they are different but both are good in my opinion
How do you keep the gold stripes from fading? I was keen to get one until I found out that the golden stripes was prone to fading after several years of ownership. Cheers man
They don't fade. The clear coat ages and it'll make them not look as bright. The stripes won't go away, so don't worry about that lol. Basically just don't let the guitar sit or hang anywhere where the sun can shine on it for long periods of time. That's what will age a guitars clear coat anyways. Other than that, get you one and enjoy it. Those stripes won't go anywhere

I’m honestly a little bit concerned about buying a new syn now. They’ve made adjustments, even the sustainiac is a tad different on the newer ones than before. Sounds like they’re tryna cut costs and (literally) corners to cheapen the product, but sell at the same price, cutting out Seymour Duncan, and using what looks like diff material for inlays. Maybe the newer models have ebony that isn’t as good as the older models 🤷🏼. Kinda makes you wonder what else they tried to or have done differently from the original recipe of the syn custom-s
All my newer SYN's are excellent guitars. I picked them all up second hand tho. I always buy used. However, when you pick up an OG model, you can feel the difference. The older ones just feel like tanks. Very well made, I do like both tho, for different reason. If you're looking for one that feels extremely well made, get one that's made from 2015, back to the mid 2000's. As long as it's been taken care of, those are monster guitars. Sadly just about every guitar company are cheapening models and charging more. Schecters from 2000 to about 2015 are all built extremely well from my experience
1:31 one thing about inlays - they may be different for gold one just because of color not because of different materials used across newer models. I just recently got mine custom-s. It is from 2023 and the inlays looks exactly as in older model presented here On the other hand I really like the improvements they made: skinny neck, profiled body for comfort and push in whammy bar are nice little improvements, not to mention newer version of Floyd 1500vs1000
@@MikeCooperRacing I love the newer models as well as the older. I agree with what you said, you can have 5 guitars of the same model, and they'll be differences. I've got 2 of the OG black w/silver stripes. One is a 07, and one an 08. The 08 has a darker fretboard and a thicker neck than the 07

You cant go wrong with either one! The newer one has a slightly wider fretboard also. I've got one up on reverb if you wanna check it out
