what i find incredible is that when she sings, she is so involved that her eyes have a million expressions through it. at the end, when the applause begins, she has this shy smile and then this huge grin and is like this kid all over again. it's quite magical.

ох, когда начинаются стихи Пастернака, всякий раз мурашки по коже начинают идти. Первый раз когда услышала это выступление, казалось, что не понравился стиль исполнения, но забыть не удалось... очень самобытно

Après moi le déluge = français
"Après moi, le déluge" is a set phrase used to denigrate the attitude of someone who acts irresponsibly, without worrying on the consequences that his/her acts could have. Something like: "I don't care what happens next, I'll be gone", "The world could collapse after I'm gone, no big deal".

As a poet earlier Pasternak is a complicated and hard understanding artist, because he wrote about subtle emotions. So, she feels him. Her quoted verse of Pasternak is about depression of spring, and about exaltation of spring as well.

This performance is simply amazing....It takes my breath away everytime I watch it, which is like, 20 times a day. Regina Spektor is amazingly talented, she has the most beautiful voice, she is absolutely beautiful. I love her music, it is individual, it speaks a poem (literally), it is simply outstanding. Bravo! :)

i love how the album version is so true to how she actually sings. with so many mainstream pop singers, their live versions are different--high notes are skipped, etc. but regina is pure talent. she doesn't need any studio boosting. she's heavenly just by herself.

It's interesting that she uses her voice like an instrument. She uses unconventional noises, because why not? It's an instrument isn't it? She doesn't seem to keep preconceptions of what a voice "should" do. She just does whatever she thinks sounds good. Interesting.
