RE: the question about self-care when you're depressed. I learned in group therapy that when you're struggling to motivate yourself it can help to imagine a positive and comforting figure encouraging you rather than just your own inner monologue. A while ago, whenever I was struggling with my mental health and felt overwhelmed by the prospect of getting up or starting the day, I started imagining JVN's voice telling me to have a gorgeous little self-care moment and go do one small thing for myself at a time. I picked him as he's cheery but simultaneously soothing, and the way he talks to people is SO different from the very harsh and unforgiving way I sometimes talk to myself. It's been genuinely very helpful, so the coincidence of him talking about small acts of self care warmed my heart! x

alicia parham try to floss and brush your teeth before bed. It’s one of the most important times to clean your teeth since your saliva production slows when you sleep. I know a few people who have lost their teeth from depression.
Also put some water and non-perishable snacks near your bed!
Also those tiny disposable toothbrushes that have the little toothpaste balls in them, I think colgate makes them but they're super useful

Calico cats (three coloured ones) are never classically male with XY chromosomes. Male Calicos have, if remember correctly, XXY chromosomes where the second X is inactive in the cells.
They're very rare so uhhh if you see a Calico cat it is most likely a female!
that person yup! Male calico cats essentially have Kleinfelters disease (think I’m spelling that right), since calico coloration needs two different X chromosomes expressing different colors based on which one is inactive.
Worked at a cat sanctuary, had a male calico with a bobtail. For the two years I worked there, everyone overlooked him.
Yep calicos are nearly always female, and orange cats are usually male!
I was Today years old when i learned that. I always thought that three coloured Cats are always females. 😱
There's also a chance of getting 3 colours in a male cat via chimera. Since chimera cats are two fraternal zygotes or fetuses that combined during pregnancy to create a single organism with split genetics. However in cats they often have a split coloured face so 🤷♂️

My vet told me that orange female cats are pretty rare after we adopted a beautiful 5.5 yr old cat from the shelter (who had been there for FOUR YEARS)! She is the BEST kitty! We've had her for 1.5 yrs. Her name is Luna.
