I am a little older than you and have lived in Michigan all of my life. I have noticed I have hated winter more and more the older I get. I am glad you mentioned the shy. Most people in the south don't realize it. We actually count the number of minutes of sun for the entire month of February. You mentioned many things people never realized.
I used to love winter my whole life, but this is first year I can't stand it. There's nothing that could change my mind. It's dark, depressive time. Someone will say 'But what about beauty?' You know, what you consider as beauty fades away when you fall on ice, see your bills and whatever.
Finally someone who hates winter as much as I do and sees nothing beautiful in it. 🙏🏻 I feel very suicidal all winter because of PTSD. I live in Finland. As soon as my kids move on their own, I move to Spain. 🎉🎉🎉

A Huge Frozen Hello from the Great White North Ontario, Canada! You are my Soul Mate Kevin! I Hate Winter too! I'm a 100% true blue 4th generation Canadian, and I Hate and have always Hated Winter! I've often complained to my parents growing up and asked why I was born here, why can't we move somewhere warm and sunny! I've spent my whole with Seasonal Depression, Winter Blues, and Winter Rage. I suffer extreme physical pain, mental anguish and suffer from so many allergies/autoimmune diseases and conditions that even my doctors are convinced that the Northern weather might be the catalyst to many if not all of my conditions. My depression, misery, and pain get so bad during the winter months that I develop a strange phenomenon I call "Winter Rage". I am from the London area and I also hate winter with every fibre of my being. I even have an infrared light but you can only use it for 15minutes 2x a day. I wish I could move to Texas or Florida but I’m on disability here. 😢
Hi Kev,my family lived through the blizzard of 78 and all the winters since then. They have told me that the winters are much milder now and there were 2 seasons where there was almost no winter at all like they got snow for only 2 weeks out of the whole season. This is in north central Indiana. The lady in your video was driving a Crossfire, my cat Crossfire owns one of those. The Crossfire would be ideal for the winter up there. They have heated seats and a heater that would drive you out of the car. Probably why she was dressed scantily for the weather
Winter makes me very angry. I don’t get depressed but just angry. I hate driving in it, I hate having the heat on, etc. I love gardening so much that I feel like a part of me dies in the winter too. Kevin, you said "only Jesus Himself could change my outlook on Winter" in your description. That exact thing happened to me when I prayed to God and Jesus in agony for help. One of the things they did for me was corrected my hating Winter. I use to talk how I hated Winter and snow but when I thought I was going to die---my outlook suddenly changed. It snowed about 1 1/2 foot deep in the 3 hours I was in the hospital during this emergency and when I left, I thought it was beautiful and I was not upset by it. I got my love of nature back. Maybe Jesus or God will do the same for you someday.
Sydney winter here. 16/6 Celcius. I used to love it. I'm 41 now. Why did I ever wait for winter? I can't stand it. It's too cold to shower, too cold to go out. I physically can't go. Little ailments come out in winter. And they get worse. I've never even seen snow, but this is a certain kind of cold. I'd say it's colder than some places that show to be colder, but it would be nothing like what you're experiencing. I wished for what you had once; would run the other way now.
Liked winter as a kid but working in it and dealing with all of it as an adult is a pain. We got bad winters more when I was younger but weren't a snow state like you. That would have given us something to complain about.
thank you for sharing the truth. i was raised in the Rochester NY area and altogether spent 35 years there. i was lucky enough to eventually get out and to a warmer climate - i'm 50 yrs old now. best thing i ever did. yeah there are some people who genuinely like winter in the northeast and midwest but i think more people are just lying to themselves about it. move south and west, man... southern colorado, new mexico, arizona, southern utah. even in areas that get some snow it's not nearly as bad as the northeast and midwest. i'm in arizona. if you don't like full on desert or an urban area, try Prescott, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Sedona/Oak Creek, Payson, Show Low, Springerville/Eagar, Sierra Vista, Oracle... even Flagstaff is better. there are towns like these that exist in the other 3 states i mentioned, i'm sure. don't overlook some of the smaller towns and cities in California as well. you'll be happier my man
The only ones that like winter are the kids just for the snow games, snowman making also Christmas holiday , for adults it's all problems high heating bills, snow shoveling, hard to go to work etc etc.... There's nothing to like about winter as an adult...
I’m with you on that whole snow philosophy. I used to to maintenance at a condo complex and I shoveled/plowed more snow than I want to admit. I wouldn’t care if I never saw snow again. But living in NJ, the chances of that are pretty slim.

I've never seen snow... Frost is as close to snow I've seen growing up as a kid. Winter here in OZ is just rain this year my rain gauge got 18" during the month of July, 13" during August.. September started coming out of hibernation.

Consider moving? I live in a place which gets cold and I am seriously considering moving. Green grass and fully leaved out hardwood trees are far more beautiful than snow. If you live in an area which gets both cold and hot weather, heating requires more energy than cooling.

Kevin you should do a winter van trip to Florida because according to my local news station website it's gonna be a toasty hell of a hot day of 150 degrees tomorrow on Saturday lol I'm not kidding because they made an error and it really does say 150 degrees for Saturday here and I took a screen shot of it and stored it in my picture file for a good laugh at their error when it's really supposed to be 80 degrees for a high and not 150.
