The dirt/water/grease is on the connector outside the transmission. My guess is during daily driving, the oil grease, dust, road dirt and rain water accumulate on the top of the connector and eventually go inside the connection/wires. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching.
The code P0741 apply to the same condition/issues and it is related to torque converter/transmission/transmission oil/solenoid. I would unplug it and check for lose contact and since you disconnect it, I would clean it and put it back tight and see what happened. The connector is the cheapest and easy way. I have multiple codes scanned out after changing my transmission fluid in about 2 days ago and the codes are. P2757 and P0471 any help please. Its a 2014 Toyota camry SE
Do you have any check engine light turn on or these 2 OBD code happens before the transmission fluid change? It is rare when your car runs perfectly and suddenly have Check Engine Light and codes related to transmission 48 hours after the fluid changed. You may want to double check your transmission level and trace back what may go wrong. I don't know much about these code and Toyota Camry; however, I believed you can search the two codes out. Here is what I got from internet: A P2757 code will be reported when the vehicle's onboard powertrain control module (PCM) detects an issue in the torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid circuit. This aspect of the powertrain automates the clutch application in order to optimize the engine's use of fuel. OBD-II Code P0471 is defined as a Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance The Exhaust Pressure Sensor tells the engine control module (PCM) how much pressure is in the exhaust manifold. If the PCM determines there is an incorrect signal from the Exhaust Pressure Sensor, the PCM will set code P0471. Notes: If your 2014 Camry is CVT transmission, there is a procedure need to be follows, it is more than a simple drain and refill. Good Luck.
Hi Richard, you can try like my way in video by using the hook open up the wire a little bit so that you can put the electronic cleaner tube inside. Also, it depends on your model, if there is one plug/wire is not use, you can use the hook to pull out that little round plastic (make sure don't drop it or loose it) then you can use that hole to spray the cleaner. After it is dry, you can cover it up again to avoid dirt or water goes inside the connector. The best way is to open the connector but I have arthritis on fingers and it is not strong to disconnect the plug especially the connector is in an odd position. Hope this helps, Thank you for your comments and thank you for watching.

I got the same code but for a 2005 Honda Accord the code came up as pending code after I ran over a puddle of water I’m going to do the fluid change or could it be a connector that got wet what can I do
Sorry for the late reply. Got some plumbing and fridge issue in the house. I don't know much about Honda Accord; however, I can tell you this P0741 is a false alarm on my 2007 Toyota Corolla because I am 99% sure it is not transmission related but a wire connection issue to the transmission. As of today, my car still running great without error code and the transmission is shifting flawlessly. My suggestion is found out the similar connection wire to the transmission on your Honda Accord, it may be similar issue due to loose or corrosive wires. Also, I don't think it will hurt if you never change your Honda's transmission fluid. Also, please make sure you follow the Honda Manual Step by Step 100% and use only OEM Genuine Honda Transmission for your particular Year and Model. Honda Transmission is very picky. You have to use OEM Genuine Honda Fluid. No if or But. Even if you did not fix this P0741 after OEM fluid change, changing trans. fluid or/and transmission filter is part of the maintenance scheduled and it should help extended your transmission life for other future transmission related issues. Good Luck and hope you can fix it.
Hi, I don't know much about Hyundai Elantra; however, the code are generally across the board; therefore, if you have not change your transmission fluid for a long time, I would give it a try because it may cause by dirty transmission fluid. In additional to that, even it may not resolve the code of P0741 but good fresh transmission is good for the parts inside the transmission even if you perform the fill and drain, it only remove portion of the transmission fluid but it should make the transmission parts last longer. Thank you for watching.
Hi, Jeff, I don't know the part name but it is basically a Wiring Harness connected to the transmission. The location is on top of the transmission. I believed those wires are then connected to the solenoids inside the transmission. I believed after so many years, the connectors are opened to battery acid (right under the battery), rains, snow, oil, dirt and water contamination and became corroded or have a contact issues. Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching.

@@subzero___ Hi, subzero, that is a good question because does pending mean fail? or may be fail? especially there is no check engine light. Based on internet, if the code is erase, smog check station will know it has been erased recently and it will not pass. If the battery is disconnected and the code is gone due to no power, smog check station will know and car most likely won't pass too. In order to pass, the car has to be back normal driving under drive certain condition with certain stop, certain city driving, certain highway in order to get back to the normal way for certain xxx miles and times. I think the best is to check Smog Check station to confirm "what if" it has pending code. You may also discuss with smog station with option such as "pre-test" or "pass or no pay" or "free re-test" options if those are available in your area. Hi Benjamin, thanks for your comments; however, I do not have the color codes of those solenoids. I been driving my corolla with this code for over 4 years and no damage i know this its common conexion problem I see many people just assume the clutch converter its bad but don't solve the problem in many cases I think cleaning this wires maybe solve the problem

amazing, i did what you said. I disconnected the cable and EFFECTIVELY, everything was submerged in oil, I don't know how the oil got to that connector but I took it out and cleaned it with circuit cleaner and that's it. NO MORE CODES ON MY DASHBOARD. THANK YOU
You are very welcome. I am so glad this video able to solve your issue with one simple cleaning on the connector. Thank you for your comment and thank you so much for watching. 👍
I have 2009 rav4 sport front wheel drive with p0741 code it was driving perfectly fine just before code came on randomly. Any advice?
how did you get dirt in your transmission
The dirt/water/grease is on the connector outside the transmission. My guess is during daily driving, the oil grease, dust, road dirt and rain water accumulate on the top of the connector and eventually go inside the connection/wires. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching.
Im going to try it out now
Hi, Michael, please keep us posted how it goes, thank you so much for watching. 👍
so My Chevy Aveo lost connect gear.. No move R and D.. I touch the socket its run... and it give P0741 is it same prob ?
The code P0741 apply to the same condition/issues and it is related to torque converter/transmission/transmission oil/solenoid. I would unplug it and check for lose contact and since you disconnect it, I would clean it and put it back tight and see what happened. The connector is the cheapest and easy way. If you watch the link on my comment on Scott's video, the P0741 was not major issue; however, the check engine light will not pass smog in California; therefore, you cannot renew your car registration.
Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching.
Pleasure and thanks for feedback ı will update now my car in workshop

@@asarcik Thanks for the update. For my corolla, there still a cable connected to the transmission in order for it to shift from P to D, R or N. I believed my connector's contact is dirty which created the Check Engine Light because wrong or no signal is send to the solenoid. No so sure how Chevy works. Thanks for your information.
The connector has a tab which you have to press. It is located to the driver side
Hi, Angel, thanks for the information. Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching.
Did u let the electric cleaner sit for a while? Before u spray the air duster
I did let it stayed for a little bit; however, those electric cleaner evaporate very fast and you can test on some test area and see how fast it evaporated therefore, even I let it stayed longer than need, the cleaner should be already gone. The air duster just to make sure it can reach some corners or odd area, just in case. Thank you for watching.
Notes: As of today, the code did not come back and the transmission is working great.
Hi.. i have the same issue.. i have change the transmission oil, filter and even replaced the solenoids from the transmission also replaced other engine sensor suggested in other youtube videos and the check engine light went away from the dashboard but when scanned it still shows ... code P0741 still show...Now just today the check engine light came up again after several weeks of not being on.. I been looking for a solution and i think i going to do what you have suggested here ... Hopefully is just the connectors that may need cleaning.. I will update if this works or not.. Thank you for the video and the help..
I have similar issue like yours but after I cleaned the connection as last resort, the CEL's P0741 did not light up again. I hope yours is the wire connectors too. Thanks for your comments and thank you for watching.

Here is what I got from internet:
A P2757 code will be reported when the vehicle's onboard powertrain control module (PCM) detects an issue in the torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid circuit. This aspect of the powertrain automates the clutch application in order to optimize the engine's use of fuel.
OBD-II Code P0471 is defined as a Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance
The Exhaust Pressure Sensor tells the engine control module (PCM) how much pressure is in the exhaust manifold. If the PCM determines there is an incorrect signal from the Exhaust Pressure Sensor, the PCM will set code P0471.
Notes: If your 2014 Camry is CVT transmission, there is a procedure need to be follows, it is more than a simple drain and refill. Good Luck.
Where did you really put electronic cleaner, wondering there was no space to put the liquid, will appreciate it if you response
Nice work
Thanks for your kind comment. Thank you so much for watching. 👍
Hello! Can you give me the proper name of the wires? Is it transmission wires? How can I Google this part to get more information? Thanks.
Hi, thank you for your comments. I don't know the proper name but it is the wire harness assembly connected to the transmission. Thank you for watching.
@@diycheapdaddy2113 thank you! I'm gonna look at it in my matrix today. I have P0741 but I don't feel the problem with shifting. The car needs a couple more seconds to shift and it makes a small bounce but the car is old, I have 200k miles. I guess it's ok for old cars to work a bit slower
@@ayvenaswulff6820 You are correct and same issue on my 07 Corolla. There is no symbol of transmission issue except the check engine light's (CEL) of P0741. There is a video on Scott regarding this issue which I have posted here.. Here is that video just in case. It starts at 3 : 20

Hi sir

Hi, I don't know much about Hyundai Elantra; however, the code are generally across the board; therefore, if you have not change your transmission fluid for a long time, I would give it a try because it may cause by dirty transmission fluid. In additional to that, even it may not resolve the code of P0741 but good fresh transmission is good for the parts inside the transmission even if you perform the fill and drain, it only remove portion of the transmission fluid but it should make the transmission parts last longer. Thank you for watching.
What’s the part number and location thanks
Hi, Jeff, I don't know the part name but it is basically a Wiring Harness connected to the transmission.
The location is on top of the transmission. I believed those wires are then connected to the solenoids inside the transmission. I believed after so many years, the connectors are opened to battery acid (right under the battery), rains, snow, oil, dirt and water contamination and became corroded or have a contact issues. Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching.

Did your code ever come back after cleaning the connection?
@@keithc8108 My code did not come back. I actually passed the smog check with no check engine light turn on. In California, if Check Engine light is on, it is a automatic failure.
You can review my other video on "how to pass smog check". Thank you for watching.
@@diycheapdaddy2113 can you pass smog if you have P0741 pending with no light on
@@subzero___ Hi, subzero, that is a good question because does pending mean fail? or may be fail? especially there is no check engine light.
Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching. Good luck.

When I lower my driver side window that code pops up
This is very strange because lower window should not related to Transmission torque converter lockup solenoid's code P0741. You may want to reset it and see whether the same code come back again. Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching.
Good Afternoon this is Benjamin i have followed your video on 2007 corolla just want to learn the colour code for the transmission solenoids.
Hi Benjamin, thanks for your comments; however, I do not have the color codes of those solenoids.
