Great looking trip! Glad you guys are still doing real boreal trips. It doesn't get any more true northern boreal than Opasquia.
It was absolutely "true" north up there.
The lads still have it. One of the best examples of the wonder, beauty and excitement of the process and experience of flying the Beaver into Canadian wilderness. And Kevin, look where that "next bend in the river" has taken you. Blessings fellas.
Thank you for this note. Blessing to you as well. And yes, tis was an excellent intro to another "bend."
Awesome to see you two on another adventure showing you are never to old! Wonderful views from the plane.
love the tribute to the lake Manituo.
Oh Kevin-I have been watching your videos from the early days, and it brings me such joy to see you and Andy continuing on your adventures, especially with such a great instalment! Looking forward to the rest!
Sean sounds like he had a crazy story -- flying Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong and then retiring to fly Bush planes in Northern Ontario!?! Wow. Looking forward to the rest of this adventure, Kevin + Andy!
Sean was the one who spawned the idea of this trip being a book. There is a cahpter or two alone on him and the other pilotes in Red Lake
Very good Kevin this is such a great gift that a good friend can give.
Totally love it. Keep thinking Kevin relax your not that old. My husband is like I can relate with the nervousness.
First comment? Hey! Good to see another Andy and Kevin trip!
Now I want to go! So many great adventure opportunities in the north, we have to protect it!
Albert is fantastic! We’ve used Goldseekers four times and he goes above and beyond!!
He and his wife are awesome!
This is going to be a great series. Pretty great to have a friend plan this as a surprise trip!
I'm very much looking forward to the rest of this adventure! And it warms my heart that you offer tobacco on your trips.
Wow! What a beautiful landscape, glad you had a great trip. On the gear buy list, that bug zapper!
This is awesome. My wife is already "Can we go?" !! The bug zapper had me laughing to tears.
LOL So glad he packed that thing.
Oh this is going to be a fun series to watch. In good hands with Albert (outfitter). Sean (pilot) is a seasoned pilot and a great sport... made me giggle. May you find many blazes to steer you on the portages (bah ha ha). I agree with several of the comments, the footage of the flight is pretty cool. 🛩🛶🌲
The flight in was amazing - worth the price on its own.
WOW guy's such a remote place the scenery is beautiful, Looks like a nice camp spot . Lookin g forward to this trip.
What a tease. I can't wait to see the rest of this trip. Looks like a really good one.
part 2 just went up. Enjoy...lol
This is frigg'n EPIC boys! Along for the ride.
"Every day is an adventer". Every day SHOULD be an adventure. So excited to see what's to come! Thanks for sharing this Dash!!! - Davey.
Thanks. I got three more trips planned for the fall - nice!
What a fantastic day 1! The fishing looked great as did the indoor mosquito tennis. I know (from your video trailer) that the trip is about to become more a lot more challenging. Looking forward to chapter 2 boys!
It turned weird/challenging the next day. Stay tuned.
Perfect timing to get me stoked for half the Mississippi Canoe Trail solo on Monday!
So happy you had a lot of flying video. Most ignore it but the beauty of flying below the trees in an old plane is awesome.
Heavy gear = awful portaging! Ick!
Hope you have a great trip. Live the adventure...
Im looking forward to the next videos awesome place!
Albert is the guy! virtually no one goes to OpasquiaPP. RUclips video by Martin Kehoe (thenorthwoodsman) is only one I know of. Hope it was awesome! flight up (and back) was super expensive I bet!
I watched Martin's video - love his channel - and yes it was $ - just under $7000 for us - but you could fly into BigHook and rent a canoe. Two light weight Souris River 17 ft. were dropped off there (which dropped our price a bit).
Great beginning looking forward to further episodes
Awesome!
Going to be great series to watch! I saw all the clues on your Instagram and got excited since I recognized all of them from White River on.... I am a NW Ontario boy so this is my backyard. Can't wait to seethe rest of this adventure!
The bug racket... lol too funny! The main reason why I camp on small wind blown islands and avoid camping during summer months! The scariest animals in Ontario's north start with the letter B and it's not bears... it's bugs!
Nice work gentleman. Still doing it!
Yep, so glad for that.
Welcome to the Great Northwest. Sunset Country.
Great start! Apparently things don't go this smoothly every day but hopefully, overall a good trip. I'm looking forward to the next part.
"smoothly" is a good term. LOL
Great stuff, have looked at Opasquia a few times as a possible trip. We've been weighed on that same scale at Red Lake; you must have all sorts of luxuries as our group of 4 had less weight in gear than the two of you did!
Until I checked I was convinced I had been dancing to "If Only I Was A Poet" at Nuts and Bolts in 1979 with a cute girl who probably wouldn't go home with me at the end of the evening anyways. Great tune for a great trip!
Great song!
300 km flight. Wow! I would have gotten lost after the first 2 km if I was the pilot LOL
Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to following this series of videos.
So this is the trip that was being talked about as far back as Canoecopia & maybe before that, bout time.
Omg! How cool! I want to go! Absolutely perfect! Migwach!
Migwach!
Looks awesome so far....
🖐😎👍 gentlemen..👍👍
This is going to be epic
Awesomeness ❤
Love how remote your trip is!
It was "crazy" remote. Loved that part of it as well.
Views from the plane... incredible!
It was such an awesome flight.
This is a great watch! Would love to do a trip like this someday. Looking forward to the next installment. The portages must have been wild!
"wild" is an understatment." LOL
Looks like the beginning of an amazing wilderness trip. I love the Beavers. Reminds me of my time in Pickle. Best wishes and stay safe.
Pickle Lake is an amazing place!
@@TheHappyCamper Yes. I worked there in the late seventies on forest inventory, working out of canoes and Bell Jet Ranger, north of the Albany River.
Wow so remote!
With that many mosquitoes, I hope you brought a patty (or six) 😉
Wow! That looks like a great trip! Seeing you fly in Beaver just brought back a ton of good memories! My first fishing trip with my day, when I was 12 yrs old old, we were flown in via Cochrane Air Service in a Beaver! It was one some unknown lake and we caught a ton of pickerel!!! I am so jealous!!! Cheers 🍻
My dad and I flew in to various fly-in lodges in my youth...i n a beaver. Loved those memories.
Miigwetch 🙂

VERY COOL! A fly-in trip is on my bucket list. Yay for fish, bugs not so much. How come the pilot had so many pens?
Good question...lol...I am not sure. He was definitely old school type, that I loved.
@11:17 what kind of wood stove is that?
Black Spruce Gear - it was amazing. blacksprucegear.com/
Karen says in order to qualify as an adventure, you have to be at least slightly uncomfortable, and you come home with some good stories. I bet this trip qualifies.
I agree 100%
how much did the flight cost ?
just under $7000 for us - but you could fly into BigHook for $1200 and rent a canoe. Two light weight Souris River 17 ft. were dropped off there (which dropped our price a bit).
Can you include a link to the bug zapper racquet?
Andy bought it at Canadian Tire www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ambia-battery-powered-mosquito-bug-zapper-racket-assorted-colours-0593954p.html?rrecName=Similar%20Items%20&rrecReferrer=product&rrecProductId=0593954P&rrecProductSlot=8&rrecSchemeId=product1_rr&rrec=true
@@TheHappyCamper Thank you.
