Dear god those comment sections for the FFDP video read like the type of stuff that comes up on my Facebook feed on a constant basis because I come from a town where no one practices common sense.

Well that's because eOne (A INDEPENDENT LABEL) was helping BEP with that release. Now Epic Records and Sony decided to let BEP have another shot at mainstream radio hits once again.
Man, I was done even thinking about 5FDP years ago but seeing them go from just "mediocre" to "actually harmful" was just...well, you said most of it, magnificently so. Their first 2 albums are a somewhat guilty pleasure of mine (but let me be real, after that it was a STEEP decline in quality) but frankly I can go get my dumb bro rage on with bands who aren't so goddamn hateful. I think I will from now on.
The Danzig thing kinda felt like he was going for something like a Nick Cave type of thing, but ended up sounding like a drunk guy at karaoke trying to sing along to a record recorded in a cardboard box using the default laptop microphone. Poor Glen :(
Im kind of wondering if hes trashed his ears. As a studio guy whos been at it since the 90s this production is eq'ed all on top of itself in this real mushy bass sound. That can have two causes 1) Bad monitoring or 2) Blown hearing.
Danzig can afford proper monitoring speakers, so Im forced to assume he is in serious need of sn appontment with a hearing specialist

Big Asking Alexandria fan here, they’ve been making the worst decisions since they made Danny record with damaged vocal chords on their third fucking album. I’m only still holding on because of their first two and The Black. LAHOF was real bad
S/t wasn't bad but yeah, LAHO-Dumpster-Fire (as I like to call it) was horrible and got more crappy the more I listened to it.
I agree with you there. As hated as The Black became, Denis was their saving grace and AA made an awful decision allowing Danny to return. Probably biased because The Black (the title track) saved me from a low point in my life but I just wonder how much better they could've been if Denis had stayed/they got a different singer.

I used to think that they were the cool band because they were rock. I’ve not been a fan since GYS, but this new video from Crash has told me how terrible the people in this band are.
I wonder what Crash is gonna think by next year or whatever in light of Iced Earth's lead singer/guitarist storming the Capitol. There sure are some idiots in the metal scene (Quiet Riot supporting anti-masking at a concert in the middle of a pandemic, etc.)
You definitely made a good point at the end of the video, in reference to five finger death Punch. I honestly would have also added the question of if Marilyn Manson can get blamed for Columbine (despite the shooters actually not being fans of his), why is five finger death Punch exempt from any of the blame of those who spread this disease, have had their bank accounts tapped because of medical costs, or at worse have died?
I was surprised at the lack of fire and brimstone compared to other lists...and then Five Finger Death Punch came up...

40:40 My Dad became one of those people this week. That moment in your video just hit me hard. This whole pandemic should've been a chance for us to come together and fight through this. But for some reason, our country finds a way to make anything a battle.
Five Finger Death Punch may not have intentionally caused these deaths but they sure as hell didn't help with that music video. I am split between getting things off my chest and trying to restrain myself from writing incoherent thoughts. Unfortunately, 5FDP is far from the worst offenders with power though.
I don't want to rant and rave so if you're serious about spreading more positivity with your channel in 2021. I'm going to hold you to that.

Another great video. I am glad you decided to put Emmure and Five Finger Death Punch in the bin where they belong. I am looking forward to the best of list and what ever else you have coming down the pipeline this year. Here is to more "How to Get Intos", "I Love This Song" and even more "Bad Album Covers" because, those are not really negative but, just more on the fun and jokey side. Here is to making 2021 better than that trashbag of a year.
Yeah, I used to be able enjoy 5FDP in spite of their politics for a bit of self indulgent moping and raging. But they can get in the bin forever now. I'm a grown up. I have outgrown them.
I was channeling my inner child around this time and even I found 5FDP rather underwhelming.
There were a couple songs I liked in an ironic way, but for the most part they've never really had a strong discography.

Say what you want about MGK's Tickets to my Downfall, but I would rather listen that thing 100 times over than the musical puke that Greenday released. You can tell that MGK is passionate about rock music and I think it really shows on this LP. Now Is it the best record I heard last year? Fuck no, not at all, but IMO it was one of the most fun, and in a year that was so damn depressing I actually really appreciated the levity it brought to the table. And the track he did with Halsey (Forget Me Too) is an absolute banger!

For me, just FFDP topped the awfulness of Translation (and just 'cause their pro fascist agenda). Hell, even as reggaeton album it's incompetent, and that last track oh Lords, it literally shits in human condition in general. Like the track basically celebrates humans dying.

Hey crash, I found out about Boston Manor because of your catchup quickie reviewing welcome to the neighborhood in early 2019, and they became one of my favorite bands shortly after! I even got to see them open up for a day to remember later that year and although I wasn’t a big fan of their newest album, they still kick ass and I wouldn’t have gotten into them without you! You introduce me to a lot of cool music I wouldn’t have listened to otherwise and I’ve been a fan since 2016. You’re the man and I loved the ending to this video.
In regards to the final message about wanting to focus more on using the influence your channel has over music fans to showing us the way to new material we may love.......well, if you ask me, you've been doing that for years. At least as long as I've been subscribed to you. I've found an inestimable amount of phenomenal new music to listen to from your videos. Whether it was artists who I was already privy to, or had never heard of, your reviews have certainly pointed me in the right direction. Failure, Mastodon, AFI, Boston Manor, Taproot, Finger Eleven, At the Drive In and countless others, I either discovered or was convinced to give a more serious listen to, thanks to your content. That's one of the primary reasons I love RUclips channels that dedicate their content to music reviews. Because watching that kind of material helps me discover new artists to look into. As a music fan, I'm constantly on the lookout for new stuff I might be interested in and your videos have countless times in the past, satiated that need. And to hear that you're going to focus even more on on bringing that kind of stuff to the table going forward is exciting to say the least. I'm glad you're still around and doing alright in the aftermath of the execrable shitshow that was last year, and I always look forward to your future uploads.
As one of your new(er) subscribers, I am happy to hear of your commitment to creating more positive content. Thank you for another year's worth of content, and I hope that you and your fans have a safe and thriving 2021.
Even as someone who likes pre-GYS FFDP, the implied messages in the video for Living the Dream absolutely baffled me. They've gone from a decent rock band (well to me anyway) to an absolute shit-tier mess, my opinions on F8 and this band continue to worsen over time.
I really liked 5FDP in 2013. I was in a somewhat dark place and Wrong Side Vol. 1 just hit right for me. I could tell it was cheesy bullshit bro-metal, but the riffs were pretty good.
And then the last three albums happened, and holy fuck I am so happy I haven't kept up with these whinny, preening, self-righteous motherfuckers. Fuck em. They're finally passing Emure in the "We're out of talent and phoning it in at the same time" department.
Always looking forward to these album lists! 2020 is a scourge on everything, and if the past week is any indication, this year is not looking any better, but we’ll see.
I was one of those people suckered into liking what I’ll call Ivan and the moody bunch so not to even type their band name. I strongly dislike the fact that they keep ruining great songs like Bad Company, Gone Away, Blue on Black and House of the Rising Sun.
Their "cover" of Gone Away legit offends me. No emotion, no soul and they completely miss the point of the song.
My biggest problem with them is that they used to put effort in. Like the bleeding is a pretty solid track, as is hard to see and far from home. Anything before american capitalist was decent. It had some effort put in, then it turned into full albums of filler, no more guitar solos, no effort/emotion put into Ivan's vocals. It started to feel like he was just some dude with a half decent voice doing karaoke. No feeling, just repeating words. All this sort of happened around the time their old bassist left and was replaced with the dude with a dreadlock beard, so I sort of suspect the old bassist was the only one trying to keep them putting effort in and they probably made it quite difficult for him. Honestly I feel the way teachers probably do when someone that used to be an A student started failing about five finger death punch. Ivan has a decent voice (can keep a tune, has good tone, but is sort of hindered by his lack of range), Zoltan is a pretty good guitarist. I mean he's no Tosin Abasi or anything, but he could play a solid solo, and I'm sure he still can, but there's no effort. Their bass parts are now pretty basic and uninteresting. And their lyrics are like something one of those creepy dudes that idolize the joker would write, which I'm pretty sure is their target demographic at this point. American capitalist and everything after it sucks. They suck. And ivan moody is allegedly a wife beater and a nightmare to tour with. They currently make music to chug monsters and punch drywall to. It's Kylecore.
I love that throughout the year, Crash mentioned how much of a snoozefest the Eminem album (Both A and B) was and yet somehow it still didn't make the worst list.
My Mom still listens to Five Finger Death Punch to this day saying their music is great and all that...... 🤦♂️😒

As a Pop Punk fan, the only thing I like about Tickets To My Downfall is the instruments, specifically Travis Barker's drumming. All Time Low did a better Pop Punk album this year compared to MGK and it shows a lot

I have to be honest, I binned death punch back when I got tired of hearing them covering and crapping all over songs that I actually found less enjoyable because they were associated with them even tangentially. So I only heard them when the radio overplayed them for the day. And I hear they are pulling this stance now, I honestly didn’t think my opinion could dip lower. But here we are.

See this is why I stick mostly/ to Future Funk, no hate at all on Rock though I will love the genre till the day I did, But I can at least stick to Funk music cause it already has kind of a school to it, but maybe this year will TRULY be different... @@alexddragame I agree with that, though i enjoy some singles from their last effort in some point ("Stay Ready" is... fine i guess), but yeah, AW is on an big downfall since 'Getaway', at least for me. Something that really piss me off from 'Shine On' is that are more re-recordings that new songs, which are the singles.
Anyway, good list, though i guess you not listening the last Trapt effort... sadly i did, and is my number one of the worst in this year, along with the AA album.

Danzig has become the Gecko Moria of rock: washed up, fat, apathetic, lazy and lacking in effort.

Not to pile on here, but seriously, the despicable and disgusting actions America and the world witnessed at the Capitol in which 5 people died, just last week, were eerily reminiscent of the conclusion to that 5FDP music video at times.
Now, I know that the people primarily responsible for those atrocities are Donald Trump and those who actively participated in the attacks on the Capitol. And of course, most of the people there probably weren't 5FDP fans.
Still, with that music video, the band clearly contributed to feeding this narrative that "patriots" had to "take their country back" by any means necessary, even by force, from the grips of evil forces that want to take it over. I doubt the guys in the band seriously wanted to incite sedition. To them, it was most probably just a business decision. They know who their fans are and so they know what type of image they need to project in order to appeal to that fanbase. However, they are still totally responsible for that image and the messages they send to the public.

It was just some days ago when I got gifted A Brief Inquiry (brilliant record) that I remembered about the 1975 and that so unmemorable album they released last year. After Brief Inquiry I was totally on board with their experimental approach and was engaged by the singles they had been dropping through late 2019 - early 2020, but those delays after delays on its release date had already made a bad omen.
It fills me with great sadness hearing Danzigs voice falling apart 😢

The new MGK album honestly didn't make me mad at all. I had the lowest possible expectations and he made an honest to God okay Pop-Punk record. I don't like him as a guy but the music is genuinely, in my opinion, not that bad. I love many pop punk artists more, but the bar was low and I dig it tbh, it's the genre I grew up on.

I felt like if the danzig sings album was released at the very least in the early 00s and had some of the more ballsy elvis songs it would have been perfect. Didn't help that he was mimicking the 50s rca sound production sound.
