MMLP2 is still my favorite Eminem album and it's from 2013. Unfortunately what comes after that era is definitely his worst. Revival sucks(I quite enjoy Framed; Castle and Arose are the only things that prevent this album from being 1/10;). Kamikaze is meh(Not Alike is REALLY good but the rest of the album is just bad decisions but some of those bad decisions mixed with some cool production far better than Revival). Music to Be Murdered By is good(most of the time), there's a lot of good songs(some really bad ones) but is far away from being his best, at least is his best new material.
@@maroonkennedy6213 Definitely Kim haven't aged well. But I do think Criminal aged fine, it's a song about people and midia portraying every Eminem lyric like it's something real when most of the time he's playing a character, so he decided to make this song saying all type of fd up stuff to make people that didn't listen to the intro for that song even more pissed, not like he meant the stuff.
@@nepkolz I think topic of Criminal is really good actually. I like the hook as well. The issue is that the song immediately hits you with a bunch of homophobia and it's like listening to an edgy tryhard 12 year old.
I have a weird nostalgia for that 7 years song by Lukas Graham. The first time I heard the song was when I went to visit my parents around the holidays back in 2015. When I arrived, their house was full of people I hadn't seen in some time, mostly old band members from when my mother put together a small group of friends and toured local bars and churches to play classic rock songs in front of small handfuls of people. As we were having some drinks and catching up, "7 Years" started playing on the radio and people stopped to listen to it a little. The discussion about the song turned into a really fun discussion about music, song meaning, and how a singers voice can detract from how a song can feel to a listener. Slowly they all went back into their song writing mode and had an impromptu song writing session. They took the general meaning and rewrote the lyrics and talked about how the instrumental could sound with the altered lyrics and ideas. It was such a fun conversation to watch. Sadly, near the end of 2020 one of the women who had been at that party passed away from some pretty aggressive cancer. The last memory I have of her, and the last time I saw her really having fun was rewriting the lyrics and vocal lines to that song. I dont really enjoy Lukas Grahams version, but I do enjoy the memories that go along with it.
And that's what music does and especially when it's good music and with a good message and is what all music is supposed to do. Lukas is an amazing artist and singer and that song and every song from that album gave me the feels and are all really good.
I'm 18. I remember listening to this song when I was 11 and it blew my tiny fucking mind. Now I can see how shallow it is, but this song was my very first "I'm 13 and this is deep" moment and I'll always remember it fondly for that reason
Brad, you've been going off this year. After being a summer camp counselor and working in corporate I have developed a special ability that anytime someone turns on “can’t stop the feeling” my brain immediately turns off. I have not actually heard that song in years, but the problem is I can’t turn it off anymore, now I’m just brainless whenever that song comes on
My favorite was in the video where he listens to the Black Eyed Peas album with Boom Boom Pow, in that song when the beat makes squiggly sounds he puts a squiggly filter over his face without any expression and it’s so funny
The realisation that the outro of Girls Like You is so similar to Bo Burnham's Sexting I can never get over how damn good Montero is too. It's so well mixed, it's beautiful yet provocative and masculine, yet so sensitive and vulnerable, you could both flamenco dance or grind to it. It deserves its place as a hit for sure, including the massive visibility it gives the gay community
7 years was so sad it made me reflect to myself.... like.....I also was once 7 years old....oh my God where do I even begin with that line! Like holy shit there's so much imagery with just that simple phrase, an immaculate portrait showcasing the beauty of youth and innocence. Like, Lukas Graham from the band Lukas Graham on the album Lukas Graham really knows what he's talking about here! 10/10! Truly one of the pieces of audio ever recorded.
I worked at a daycare for like 2 years and we only could listen to CDs, one of the rooms i was in for a like 9 months pretty much only had the trolls soundtrack and the jack johnson curious george thing. As overplayed and as ingrained as it all became, I really was able to appreciate the quality structure of the underlying original songs they pulled from on the trolls thing, and came to appreciate jack johnson just a tiiiiiiiny bit but only as the most easy of easy listening, and good for kid's music lol
I really appreciate your opinions. The fact that you can point out the good things even when expect to completely hate something says a lot about you as a critic. It's easier to give a negative opinion on something, especially something as subjective as the music, than to actually praise some of its aspects.
13:24 I'm glad you mentioned how impossible to escape this song was. I didn't even hate it when it first came out. The more it played, the more my hatred grew. Worse, my mom LOVES the song, and has it on her playlists and shit. I'm still going insane to this day.
Tbh it is a really decent and catchy song, shame it was overplayed so darn much, cause listening to it by itself and genuinely hearing the vibe it's a bop (vop)
You know honestly in regards to your opinions on Dynamite I can completely understand and even somewhat agree. It was their first ever fully English song and it was very much overly bubbly, overly happy, and I do agree it sounds a bit soulless. I think the intent was to make it happy to combat the feelings COVID was bringing, but reflecting back on it it doesn't really reflect the more thoughtful songs they've had on their albums before. So no hard feelings on that one.
if you listen to bts earlier songs especially their dark and wild album like hiphopphile they have so much passion in their music they genuinely made dynamite just to fit into American pop standards especially with the Grammy involved most likely their companys choice. they have been releasing solo songs and it feels alot more like them
Dynamite is definitely a feel good song and I actually do enjoy it, it doesn't feel completely authentic to them though and it's hard for me to look past that sometimes, Life Goes On and Dis-ease are the real highlights of BE. Dis-ease is honestly S tier for me. I love that song so much.
WTF, I didn't even noticed that I watched this for an hour and a half until the video ended. Guess that's a testament on how fucking good this video is. Another banger video from Brad. In fact, the recent change of reviewing pop songs has been a real treat to me, since I also grew up listening to pop songs in the radio. It's good to hear some thoughts about the current pop scene as a sort of break from indie and non-mainstream stuff. And the fact that these videos are also consistently entertaining and insightful is also great. Keep it up Brad, can't wait for the second half of this :D
video hasn't even been running that long but already turned a bad day into something a lot better. thanks so much man fr, your content is really inspiring and helps out a lot for me and a lot of others always will love your stuff man!
Mike Posner is genuinely so underrated. I know you say that you don't like his acoustic version of the song, but that entire album is one of my favorites in recent years. The music that he's made over the past few years definitely isn't for everyone, but I absolutely love the vast majority of it. I'm glad that I was able to help you like Sugar better by telling you during the stream that Posner wrote it, even if I do kind of hate the song lmao. Keep up the great work, Brad. You've been absolutely killing it lately.
My reaction is basically the opposite of Brad’s in that I really didn’t and still don’t care for the EDM remix, or any EDM remix made solely for marketability, and actually wrote the song off until I found the acoustic version. Been a fan of Posner ever since
Pretty much every other video of this genre only exists to cringe at pop music and ogle at the occasional old songs that get in, I'm glad you actually have an open mind with these lol
I feel like my audience expected me to do just that, but growing up with pop music, I love being able to offer something new to the conversation. It feels like a lane I’ve always wanted to be a part of
brad i seriously appreciate you and all the effort you put into your work, you never fail to make me laugh and make my day whenever you upload! keep it up man
2015-2016 were my first years truly away from home, and would have been perfect for a nostalgia track about longing for childhood. Instead, I got Stressed Out and 7 years. I thank Lukas Graham and 21 Pilots for making me completely ready to move on with my life and be an adult.
7 Years is like Five For Fighting's 100 Years without any of the introspection or soul in it. Maybe I'm just millenial kid nostalgia-pilled but that's how it's always felt.
you’re my favourite channel at the moment brad u put so much effort into these videos and you are so funny and lean into all the memes but are also very knowledgeable and insightful. keep it up man !!!
Brad I'm really loving your content these days, I've followed you for years and it makes me happy to see how much you have grown not only in subscribers but as a person also. I really appreciate you and the things you do. ❤️
Absolutely confident to say that yeah, these have a lot of streams on account of being radio pop music but like, every store and mall in the country uses spotify or some other app to just play whatever droning pop music is appropriate and innoffensive enough to play for the sales floor.
felt that hard on bts, they've had some amazing songs but i hated dynamite. i stopped being an army years ago, but that kind of corporate happiness wasn't the bts that i started listening to. i listened to them bc they had a lot of stuff to say about growing pains, adulthood, society, and i felt so represented. then when i tuned back in years later, i saw dynamite and that just wasn't the bts that i wanted to listen to because of how soulless it was. they've made a lot better songs that deserved to be on this list instead of dynamite and it's still pretty upsetting to me that dynamite is what people will think of when they hear bts when this doesn't even encapsulate how good their discography is bc they really do have great songs
7 months late lol but even after the boys' english songs, BE is genuinely a great album, and I think Proof is really good. Those three English songs were the only ones that felt out of place imo even the boys don't like them that much because it just wasn't them. None of them even wrote Dynamite, but at least Butter is the best one of the three, and was also written by the members. PTD tho, that's the only one I think is bad. Dynamite is just there
No wonder water parks play mid 2010s music. It had such a summer-y kinda vibe, and now it has a nostalgia factor too. Even if the song is pretty generic and kinda trash, theres no denying they fill me with personal happiness.
Bro, the XXXtentacion take was so well said. Dude's music sucked and he was an irritating personality but he didn't need to die and have his grave dug up constantly by industry vultures.
"Mr. Brightside" is a timeless classic but I think people are really sleeping on "Read My Mind", it's still my favorite Killers song. Such a great progressive build-up and climax.
levitating is the most overplayed song ever for me. Literally over a year and counting and this song is absolutely inescapable. Even if its a bop i could go the rest of my life without ever hearing it ever again
Takes I most disagree with: "Can't Hold Us" being bad - I genuinely think it's one one of the best hype rap songs of all time. Great production, hook and rapping. "Faded" being bad - I love the instrumental and vocals. Good song. "Unforgettable" being bad. Instrumental is very good and Sway Lee absolutely kills it. French Montana is by far the worst part about his own song but his boring rapping doesn't ruin the song. Good song.
watching this (a year later) as a kpop stan is so funny, dynamite, butter and a lot of their newest stuff is veryyyyy seterotypical american pop, like the stuff you'd hear in your local clothing store and I'm pretty sure that's all their american labels fault, even as an army im not the biggest fan of their newest music because its soooo catered to a VERY specific audience (radio listeners.) and im just not a fan of it. one of their oldest albums (dark&wild) is genuinely one of my favourite albums EVER and i am 100% on board with the idea that they should go back to their og sound rather than trying to cater to a western audience even thought they were doing fine before with their full korean songs!!!!!1
Yeah it's kind of a bummer that the biggest BTS stuff is the most boring, though I guess that's not that surprising. If you go back ~5 years to Love Yourself (tear/her/answer) and before, it's a lot more enjoyable. Dynamite and Butter feel way more generic by comparison.
@@xos honestly, the albums after that, BE and Proof are great. It seems those three songs were just outliers. The boys' don't even like those songs cus they weren't their personality.
"I Don't Care", "Unforgettable" and other songs using reggaetone-light beats give the same energy as those Hollywood movies trying to appeal to the Chinese market.
I don't often comment, but I've been here since the days of the Tøp reactions and I have to say... every change in content has led to bigger and better things, and this is no exception. I adore this ranking format, the humor mixed with serious analysis, the subtle editing moments, and of course, oh my fucking god chat /lh Really hoping to catch the streams one of these days, they look so fun & Brad's charm is always enjoyable. Much love.
First found this channel when I was just a little twenty one pilots fan, I've been watching a while and grown quite a bit since then (both as a person and in terms of musical taste) but I have to say - I haven't had as much fun watching your videos as I have the past few months :) Keep it up Brad
My girlfriend got tickets to see Shawn Mendes and no lie one of the reasons I broke up with her was because I reeaallly didn't wanna go see Shawn Mendes, plus the tickets were like 150$ and I was like "fuck that" give me my entire day and a half's work worth of money back Edit: I took my 150 and saw Kendrick instead, much better investment lol
7 years is easily the most annoying song i’ve ever heard. every time it came on the radio i would just leave whatever drugstore i was in and find another one
I got a personal story with Riptide. When I was in elementary school, the only instrument we learned in music class was ukulele , and that was THE SONG. I thought it was annoying at first, but after being forced to learn to play it and hearing it over and over through 3 years (on top of the endless radio play), it made me hate music. Dumb little 5th grade me thought that’s what music was, and I couldn’t stand it. Made me hate radio and began my awful spiral into the “all pop is trash” mindset. I’ve escaped, but hearing that song today brought back horrible memories
My opinion of each song: 100 - It's a fun, not boring Shawn Mendes song that feels like your ears are getting a big gulp of air 99 - A great Eminem banger that is insanely catchy 98 - MILES better than Welcome to the Madhouse 97 - Kind of catchy with a fun beat 96 - It's a catchy, charming song, but good GOD, Adam did not need to go that far in the chorus 95 - Just an infectious dance song that happened to be made for a terrible movie 94 - It's just a happy reggae song, you know 93 - Has some good vocals in there, but they immediately remove it afterwards 92 - Alright, to the dumpster with you 91 - Feels like it was made exactly for a movie, because it was 90 - Eh, this one was fun for me 89 - I am a fan 88 - I'm kinda biased but it's a good song 87 - Lukas Graham 86 - Oh no... 85 - Great stuff! 84 - Glad Brad likes this one. I was kinda worried... 83 - Look, how cute 82 - Could be charming like Wonderwall if it wasn't Maroon 5... 81 - This IS what I like 80 - This song is as boring as it is bored 79 - Fun stuff! 78 - YOU BETTER LOSE YOURSELF IN THE MUSIC THE MOMENT YOU OWN IT YOU BETTER NEVER LET IT GO 77 - Cool! Just cool. 76 - BASED ASF 75 - Nice job, Calvin Harris. Dua Lipa saved your ass 74 - Nothing short of a masterpiece 73 - Yeah, I don't like X 72 - Bro is obsessed with that box 71 - Banger that I used to hate 70 - Forgettable 69 - Where chorus? 68 - Banger of 2019 alert!! 67 - Sam is good 66 - Bacon, eggs are good 65 - Yeah, I like Misery Business 64 - Oh yeah!!! 63 - Song title thefts hurt people, Halsey 62 - Not any better or worse than the original 61 - I don't care. I literally cannot tell when it goes from Ed Sheeran to Justin Bieber 60 - You gotta have some courtesy to get the title right 59 - Yayyyyy! With me 58 - Love this stuff this! 57 - Vibe 56 - Great song, just plug your ears! 55 - When was Arctic Monkeys on this list? 54 - Drop goes hard, honestly 53 - You could NOT get me to care 52 - Congratulations! We got Lil Nas X 51 - ROBLOX BULLY STORY BEAT FOOTBALL MONTAGE
I remember I used to show people riptide and they would not listen to it. Then a few years later it gets popular on TikTok and it’s their favorite song, shit happens to me all the time.

Youre like the only youtube channel that can keep me occupied for this long, thanks Brad!
Girls Like You, that song hurts me so much, feels like a song made in a laboratory to get the most streams possible, and the sad thing is that worked.
video hasn't even been running that long but already turned a bad day into something a lot better. thanks so much man fr, your content is really inspiring and helps out a lot for me and a lot of others always will love your stuff man!
2016 was an ass year for music, but it’s the last year before everything got real sad and depressing. So it doesn’t sound quite as bad now.
You've been absolutely killing it lately.
yes dude!!! A Real Good Kid is a freaking masterpiece.
his music is good but he doesn’t have good PR team
A real good kid holds such a prominent corner of my heart
My reaction is basically the opposite of Brad’s in that I really didn’t and still don’t care for the EDM remix, or any EDM remix made solely for marketability, and actually wrote the song off until I found the acoustic version. Been a fan of Posner ever since
Pretty much every other video of this genre only exists to cringe at pop music and ogle at the occasional old songs that get in, I'm glad you actually have an open mind with these lol
I feel like my audience expected me to do just that, but growing up with pop music, I love being able to offer something new to the conversation. It feels like a lane I’ve always wanted to be a part of
@@BradTasteInMusicOfficial😮 love the world of War craft south park 🏞 your perfection 👌 always enjoy hearing your opinions ❤ 🐾
I love this video concept. Brad is constantly coming up with bangers.
brad i seriously appreciate you and all the effort you put into your work, you never fail to make me laugh and make my day whenever you upload! keep it up man
2015-2016 were my first years truly away from home, and would have been perfect for a nostalgia track about longing for childhood. Instead, I got Stressed Out and 7 years. I thank Lukas Graham and 21 Pilots for making me completely ready to move on with my life and be an adult.
7 Years is like Five For Fighting's 100 Years without any of the introspection or soul in it. Maybe I'm just millenial kid nostalgia-pilled but that's how it's always felt.
this channel has probably straight up become my favourite music channel to watch along with the community formed around it, thanks man :^)
Love these types of vids! i appreciate the hard work man, proud of what youve been accomplishing lately
One of the only content creators that can make an hour and thirty minutes of content feel like a breeze for my impatient ass. Cannot wait for Part 2!
you’re my favourite channel at the moment brad u put so much effort into these videos and you are so funny and lean into all the memes but are also very knowledgeable and insightful. keep it up man !!!
I love seeing the chat completely hate every song, then immediately changing when he compliments it.
Hearing Brad say this at 15:57 and me watching it in 2023 almost choked me
same lol
SAME💀💀💀
TRUE
Brad I'm really loving your content these days, I've followed you for years and it makes me happy to see how much you have grown not only in subscribers but as a person also. I really appreciate you and the things you do. ❤️
2023 is now officially the year in which i am watching this video in
All my friends are creepers they explode
thank you for the video brad! you worked hard and it was really good and fun
Absolutely confident to say that yeah, these have a lot of streams on account of being radio pop music but like, every store and mall in the country uses spotify or some other app to just play whatever droning pop music is appropriate and innoffensive enough to play for the sales floor.
I highly disagree with the Youngblood take, that song is a lot of fun and I think the beat is quite nice
This stream was great, thank you for the content
13:22 i don’t know if this cut off was intentional but im crying
The tonal whiplash from transitioning from ‘Till I Collapse to Heathens would have killed a pilgrim.
That was insane when Brad took his own soul
felt that hard on bts, they've had some amazing songs but i hated dynamite. i stopped being an army years ago, but that kind of corporate happiness wasn't the bts that i started listening to. i listened to them bc they had a lot of stuff to say about growing pains, adulthood, society, and i felt so represented. then when i tuned back in years later, i saw dynamite and that just wasn't the bts that i wanted to listen to because of how soulless it was. they've made a lot better songs that deserved to be on this list instead of dynamite and it's still pretty upsetting to me that dynamite is what people will think of when they hear bts when this doesn't even encapsulate how good their discography is bc they really do have great songs
BTS are absolutely shite.
Dynamite is just there
I love how the most iconic line from 7 years is the dude shouting “Lukas Graham!!!!!!!!”
Oh man i was waiting for this. Love when you destroy my favorite songs with good editing
You're legit one of my favorite content creators right now, Brad. Your humor gets me every time and the editing is getting better and better.
No wonder water parks play mid 2010s music. It had such a summer-y kinda vibe, and now it has a nostalgia factor too. Even if the song is pretty generic and kinda trash, theres no denying they fill me with personal happiness.
i've been hysterically laughing at LUKAS GRAHMMMMMMM for the whole time after this video dropped help me
watched this on stream and i’m here to watch it again brad. mark likes your content.
14:55 new genre unlocked: Pre-Pandemiccore
Lauv is actually really good. i stumbled upon his music and enjoyed it alot, i didnt know how popular he was
Same. Lauv is awesome!
I enjoyed Lauv a lot when I was in high school few years ago. I need to check out his newer works now.
I HATE a ton of pop songs but can't stop the feeling is such a well produced and composed song that I can't help but love it as a composer
Bro, the XXXtentacion take was so well said. Dude's music sucked and he was an irritating personality but he didn't need to die and have his grave dug up constantly by industry vultures.
ppl listen to 17 and ? and say his music is trash even tho 90% of his music doesnt even sound like that
@@neoviez His EP stuff was just as bad except instead of being depressing, he was more confrontational. Still cringe af
Wonderwall is so alternative it went around a full circle and became just generic again
Brad you're one of my favorite RUclipsrs love your whole personality keep it up bro
"Mr. Brightside" is a timeless classic but I think people are really sleeping on "Read My Mind", it's still my favorite Killers song. Such a great progressive build-up and climax.
15:23 Bruh I felt that hard. I completely forgot that the song was from 2016.
The world didn't feel as completely fucked back then.
1:00:28 it's a well known fact that 97% of all videos on youtube consist of family guy funny moments compilations at this point
levitating is the most overplayed song ever for me. Literally over a year and counting and this song is absolutely inescapable. Even if its a bop i could go the rest of my life without ever hearing it ever again
Takes I most disagree with:
"Can't Hold Us" being bad - I genuinely think it's one one of the best hype rap songs of all time.
Good song.
It’s absolutely not a rap song
Hahahahahahaha sure
Til I Collapse is such a BANGER!
the comedic timing you have, I'm literally addicted jajaja
Brad at 43:00: “Next song lose yourself by Eminem!”
*Starts humming Till I Collapse*
I caught that too 🤣
I absolutely love the way he says "smiley ball"
watching this (a year later) as a kpop stan is so funny, dynamite, butter and a lot of their newest stuff is veryyyyy seterotypical american pop, like the stuff you'd hear in your local clothing store and I'm pretty sure that's all their american labels fault, even as an army im not the biggest fan of their newest music because its soooo catered to a VERY specific audience (radio listeners.) and im just not a fan of it. one of their oldest albums (dark&wild) is genuinely one of my favourite albums EVER and i am 100% on board with the idea that they should go back to their og sound rather than trying to cater to a western audience even thought they were doing fine before with their full korean songs!!!!!1
Hot take (maybe?): Dababy was a tragically poor choice for Levitating. Imagine if Anderson paak was there instead.
16:48 "Can't Stop The Feeling" by "Jazon Mraz"
i heard mr brightside for the first time last weekend and its been in rotation ever since and i cant explain why
"I Don't Care", "Unforgettable" and other songs using reggaetone-light beats give the same energy as those Hollywood movies trying to appeal to the Chinese market.
15:58 brad tripped me tf out
how did blud know 👀
Someone in his chat called 7 Years "Jewish mom music" lol
I don't often comment, but I've been here since the days of the Tøp reactions and I have to say... every change in content has led to bigger and better things, and this is no exception. I adore this ranking format, the humor mixed with serious analysis, the subtle editing moments, and of course, oh my fucking god chat /lh
Really hoping to catch the streams one of these days, they look so fun & Brad's charm is always enjoyable. Much love.
First found this channel when I was just a little twenty one pilots fan, I've been watching a while and grown quite a bit since then (both as a person and in terms of musical taste) but I have to say - I haven't had as much fun watching your videos as I have the past few months :) Keep it up Brad
My girlfriend got tickets to see Shawn Mendes and no lie one of the reasons I broke up with her was because I reeaallly didn't wanna go see Shawn Mendes, plus the tickets were like 150$ and I was like "fuck that" give me my entire day and a half's work worth of money back
Edit: I took my 150 and saw Kendrick instead, much better investment lol
I'm so happy that I'm not the only one who thinks of CS188's ytp everytime Uptown Funk comes on
7 years is easily the most annoying song i’ve ever heard. every time it came on the radio i would just leave whatever drugstore i was in and find another one
halsey's most recent album was produced by nine inch nails it's without a doubt her best i recommend
one of my fav videos you've done, loved it! waiting for the next part
I saw Dynamite and I was hoping it was that Taio Cruz song 💀
Great video, can’t wait for the part 2
I got a personal story with Riptide. When I was in elementary school, the only instrument we learned in music class was ukulele , and that was THE SONG. I thought it was annoying at first, but after being forced to learn to play it and hearing it over and over through 3 years (on top of the endless radio play), it made me hate music. Dumb little 5th grade me thought that’s what music was, and I couldn’t stand it. Made me hate radio and began my awful spiral into the “all pop is trash” mindset. I’ve escaped, but hearing that song today brought back horrible memories
My opinion of each song:
100 - It's a fun, not boring Shawn Mendes song that feels like your ears are getting a big gulp of air
99 - A great Eminem banger that is insanely catchy

I remember I used to show people riptide and they would not listen to it. Then a few years later it gets popular on TikTok and it’s their favorite song, shit happens to me all the time.
Great video! Can tell you put a lot of effort into it :)
