  • D-Day Squadron aircraft arriving yesterday at Shuttleworth for the start of the D-Day 80 celebrations. The 4 C47/DC3 Aircraft had departed Waterbury-Oxford Airport,Connecticut on 18th May 2024 crossing the Atlantic using the same route know as the “Blue Spruce Route" that was used by the Aircraft in the war. C47 42-24054 “PLACID LASSIE” DC-3A “SPIRIT OF DOUGLAS” C47 THAT’S ALL,BROTHER N47TB DC3 WESTERN AIR NC33644. Enjoy the sight and sound of these unique aircraft in UK skies who knows maybe the last time.

    I am from Uruguay, 85. I flew twice on a Pluna Airlines DC-3 in 1965, just a short hop MVD/ PDP. Quite an experience. Tks for the excellent video
