    The definition of heavy snow in Tokyo is not comparable with the definition of heavy snow in Sapporo

    That’s amazing. For some reason, I thought it snowed a lot in Tokyo during winter. Now I wish I had visited during winter instead of summer. I can handle a little snow but not a complete whiteout. 😂

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  5 месяцев назад +2

      It snows maybe once in 2 to 3 years in Tokyo. So people are not used to snow at all. But comparing to summer, I'd say visiting Tokyo in winter is more recommendable. Because the summer in Tokyo is terribly hot!!!

      People in Tokyo are not used to snow. So I think carrying an umbrella is the first thing to come to our mind.

    I think the Emperor will need to address the Japanese people and tell them that the pandemic is over and masks can officially be removed...

    • @raidensnake9471016
      @raidensnake9471016 5 месяцев назад +12

      In Japan they used masks YEARS before COVID even existed, they wear it when somebody has the flu and doesn't want to spread it around.
      Maybe educate yourself before making snarky comments like that.

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  5 месяцев назад +8

      We are wearing a mask regardless of COVID-19. It's a flu season, and some people are catching a cold. People are wearing a mask out of consideration not to spread to other people. It's our culture to care other people.

    • @galespressos
      @galespressos 5 месяцев назад

      😂 There are many reasons for wearing masks in Japan and it is a cultural issue. As said by others, people have been wearing masks long before pandemic in Japan (and other places in Asia). A very common reason is for allergies. However, in winter there is an additional reason: the masks help keep the breathed-in air warmer when it is cold outside. Many of these people will likely remove masks when back inside. Some won’t as they have a cold and are worried about getting others sick, sneezing on people accidentally . Maybe they have a red runny nose and are embarrassed; it happens. Some even wear masks because they had no time to apply makeup. People are more conservative too, so there might be a percentage worried about a return of the pandemic.. I am afraid you might get jumped on for your comment; I do get that type of humour but many won’t. You also probably didn’t know masks were worn YEARS before ,as someone else said, and therefore will continue to be, in Japan.
