Also going to Japan for xmas lights and meeting with friends in 2 weeks. 🥳🥳 Cant wait. Small Q.: Are the xmas lights whole night on or they turn them off after midnight or so? I love night photography and there are less people late at night. Even in Tokyo. 😬
This is what I learned from my experience but HDR videos look a little low saturated when viewed on non-HDR devices. Would you kindly test this video on HDR compatible devices such as recent iPhones or other smart phones which can display at least 1000 nits brightness?
@@VSV_Japan I have only crappy pseudo hdr monitor (Samsung Odyssey 7, IPS with local dimming 8 vertical zones ), claimed 400 nit but measured using ColorMunky Photo spectrophotimeter arond 300 peak. Despite monitor, I still think this one definitely differ (less saturation) as I compare your walk with other ppl (Ramba is best for me, VJ, seul walker, many other, I like walks a lot, since COVID lockdowns). First 10 min part, to get "right feel" I raise +40% saturation. Later it was overkill and I lower to +30%. +20% near walk end. My theory is first part was darker and DJI use high ISO, and all CMOS sensors tend to lose saturation as iso rise.
I really like your videos! May I ask what you do regarding copyright when there's music playing somewhere in the background of your videos? Have you ever received a warning from youtube or do you just not receive any monetization for those videos? This would be really helpful to know.
I got tons of warnings in the past! So when I notice music is played in the background, I lower the volume of the part on the editing software and copy background sound taken from other part of the video and paste onto it.
Great sights. Thanks for the video. My only recommendation is to get a better camera to capture the lights. I just came back from Japan and the lights are amazing. This camera doesn’t make it justice.
Every Japanese city ,town and village is pristine,no litter no graffiti. The people obviously take a great pride in their country, I live in wales which is the complete opposite, litter and dirt everywhere, in fact the average Welsh person seems to believe that litter should be thrown out of their car windows as often as possible

Are you asking about the green circle line that I drew on the map of Tokyo in the beginning? If so, that is a train line called Yamanote line. It's a loop line and trains are running in circles and many major towns like Shibuya and Shinjuku are on the line. And for many tourists, it can be used as a guide line to navigate in Tokyo. However the green circle is just a part of Tokyo and Tokyo is much bigger than the circle.

Very nice shopping mall, where are the shoppers? Honestly it looks like an American shopping mall, not so many shoppers here either. Wondering if this area in Japan gets snow? The lights would be super beautiful with a backdrop of snow on the ground.

I checked it on the Internet and found that they turn off the illuminations at 11pm. I hope it helps.
